Heyy i wanted to ask your opinion. Im a 19 year old student new to this car stuff. Do you think a mr2 sw20 would be a good first car to buy? I would most likely drive it daily. I have read alot of forums about this car and most of the things are positive. But i keep wondering if it will be too difficult and expensive to maintain? And perhaps you have any tips what to look out for if im buying one and what things i should know about the car? BTW I really enjoy these videos! Keep it up!
This is a bit of a loaded question. The MR2 is a good car. It is made by a great company in a time when that company was making very reliable cars. It is also an old car by this time and so it will need maintenance. Some shops won’t work on it for some reason and so an owner needs to be prepared to do some work. Most major parts are still available as they are shared with other cars, but there is also some parts that are specific to the SW20. The best tip I can give you is buy the best one available to you and don’t look for one that need a lot of work if you plan on daily driving it.

And by the way does driving the mr2 in the winter damage it alot? We have snowy cold winters here like in canada and theres salt and sand on the road pretty often.
It came with the car when I bought it. Now I need to find another, it felt so good in the hand compared to the metal one. A little thing I know, but it made it special.

Of you have a lot salt on the roads then don’t drive it in the winter. Were I am they don’t use a lot of salt so I am ok with it.
Is the toyota mr2 hard to drive in the rain or snow? I watched your vids where you drove around and seemed pretty good to me. Or am i wrong?
All depends on the tires. And if you have the turbo. The turbo has a lot more power, so it will spin the the tires easy.
