John Barry’s orchestrations IMO are as significant as any character in the Bond movies. The Goldfinger score is definitely his best. I always will have a fondness for his musical contributions to the Bond films.
I went through basic training there in 1968, and it looked exactly like that. Sad that all the old WWII barracks were leveled and Knox doesn't look at all the same now.
I like that Muldraugh Television and the U.S. Route 31W sign. That part of the film was actually filmed near Ft. Knox but the Depository was a mock up in England. Also Ft. Knox scene with troops in real. This was in "Making of Goldfinger". Thanks.
Class. Dame Shirley, just class. Her range is undermined because of the people who take her off because they can but she is perfect, like Joan Collins. She is just beautiful and a perfect example of a mixed race woman. Beautiful .
Notice how the vehicles change between shots, especially the jeep leading the convoy. In the scenes actually filmed in and around Fort Knox by the Second Unit Crew, it's a M38A1, or MD, model. But in the scenes filmed in England using a mock-up of the depository, it's a M38, or MB, model. It's easy to tell the difference because the two models have different front fenders.
In a rare instance of film adaption bettering its literary source Goldfinger’s plan here is to fiendishly irradiate Fort Knox’s, not steal it as in the latter. By doing so he increases the value of his own stock without stealing a single bar... In strictly relative terms a far more plausible scheme, even ingenious!
I'd imagine that the modernity of an official use only gas pump was not a priority for the United States Bullion Depository. Heck, I have been to some Federal Government gas pumps that are 1980s-era and still being used every day. In any case, it wasn't important enough to keep a gas pump at the Depository as it was later removed.
I thought Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore) was the leader? Where was she when all of this was going down? Oh, and a BRILLIANT musical score by the way. Powerful. Complemented the mood and action perfectly.
If the gas was switched to a harmless substance [spoiler alert!!!] which the army on the ground is in on... why at 3:28 is there a crash? are these extras in the film actually dead :P
Good in it's day but not anymore. Lame idea - they encounter no resistance flying over the Fort? The spray takes effect immediately from that height? Ha ha ha But Hey - It's classic James bond, sit back and enjoy.
Well, why don't you raise a few hundred million and make the same film, if you're so smart. You're just some dumb kid who's never taken any chemistry classes.

You were part of the Army 1st Armored Division because by their insignia were stationed at Fort Knox at that time
This scene and musical score along with the kobe dock scene in YOU ONLY LIVE TWICE are the 2 that PURE GOLD 👌
Barry's music...the most ultimate Bond movie scene ever...this set the benchmark
the music when they're rollin in with the army trucks is awesome
One of the greatest aviation moments in cinema history, aided in no small part by John Barry's music.
This is my favorite scene in the movie. It's excellent.
Listen to the very beginning of the score...PURE GENIUS!!!!
60's had amazing positive atmosphere in films that you cant find anywhere now.
100 Percent agreed
Those who knock Bond movies accuse them of being preposterous. THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF THEM!!!
Agree. They are entertainment. Not documentaries on spy craft.
If you want gritty reality...look out of your f##king Window.
If you want two hours of total escapism...look no further than Bond
I used to love this part of the film as a kid, watched it in the morning once before school. Memorable music and it is like Army Men or something.
R.I.P. Aleta Morrison. Aleta played the head pilot "Champagne Leader" in this clip and first appears at 0:32. She died July 13, 2020 at the age of 88.
Beautiful woman.
@@RobARug very, yes
She is in such a hurry to vaporize that on the other hand she forgets the number 1 in her count 🤣🤣😍😍

The soldiers fell down so nicely! Of course they had to keep Bond alive, and bring him along for the trip!
They got the best. John Barry.
Fantastic music, Favourite scene.

Great music for a great scene!

Wow! I’ve seen this movie a zillion times and never caught that!!
Sharp music!!💗💗💗
Perfekte Szene mit wunderbarer Musik untermalt
This is so great ! Love the "Hysterical" music, too..
Well neighbors! They where showing us back then and now it’s worldwide!
This is the best sequence in the movie
My son was just counting 5-4-3-2-0 this morning. Thought of this scene immediately. I asked him what happened to 1? He said it's broken!
-Getting a bunch of hot girls and planes= Easy
-Getting the hot girls and planes into restricted airspace (with AA guns and jets)=not so easy
Why they can't make score like this anymore?
"Commence spray on countdown. Five, four, three, two, zero." Er, what about one?
el laser en la puerta me recuerda a mi difunta plantita de soldar palma
genious song
The gas is so fast acting, it strains credulity. Also I hope the flying circus planes are airtight :p
You're going to struggle with Bond movies if "straining credulity" is a problem for you.
The ground crew has same uniform as in Dr. No.
Nice looking actresses!
top 3 bond movies of all time. dont make em like this anymore, ashame

I thought no one unofficial is allowed anywhere near "Fort Knox" even for making a film?
The gas pump behind Bond and Oddjob at 6:14, known as a visible, was already 30 years out of date even in 1964.
I'd imagine that the modernity of an official use only gas pump was not a priority for the United States Bullion Depository. We still act as stupid as they portrayed us more than 50 years ago.
Jesus...They don't make 'em like this anymore
#RIPMsPussyGalore #RIPHonorBlackman 😢💔🛩
The Actors are acting like they’ve been gassed. Which makes this scene better and hilarious
Blondie's countdown: 5, 4, 3, 2, ZERO!!!! LMAO at the stereotype! :D
I don't get what you find so funny.
@@CaptainHarris-ip2kg It's all there in my original post. The countdown is missing the number 1, it goes directly from 2 to zero.
Why did the villain wear Air Force staff sergeant insignia when it’s Fort Knox? 🤔
I was in the Air Force when this movie came out. I really cracked up when I saw the bad guy was wearing AF stripes.
@collingwoodrules They are still.
plot foiled when OSHA gets them for no eye protection.
They remind me a bit of these girls who flew the jet fighters in Captain Scarlet.
ls lumbre acaba bosques que no corte una puerta blindada
0:04 Why does the ground crew look like they're from a WWII Japanese carrier?
What are you talking about? They are hot by today's standards as well.
Hotter. There's not much feminine or classy or appealing about 95%+ of today's western women.
Great assessment
I thought Honor Blackman (Pussy Galore) was the leader? Where was she when all of this was going down?
Oh, and a BRILLIANT musical score by the way. Powerful. Complemented the mood and action perfectly.
Pussy Galore trained the Flying Circus. She doesn't fly with them.
I believe she’s piloting the helicopter that flies Goldfinger to Fort Knox.
@collingwoodrules They were stuntmen in blond wigs :P
And just about all of those white WWII buildings are long gone.
@collingwoodrules
still are, IMHO
1:55 bloody hell how late were those guys to miss their cue on the side of the street at the back
Not if the plane was coming in from behind the camera. You don't see it in the shot. But yeah, you're right, I doubt that's what was intended.
If the gas was switched to a harmless substance [spoiler alert!!!] which the army on the ground is in on... why at 3:28 is there a crash? are these extras in the film actually dead :P
yeah that's SOME commitment to the faking lol
Whermacht !
this was a silly scene but I loved the movie lol
Good in it's day but not anymore. Lame idea - they encounter no resistance flying over the Fort? The spray takes effect immediately from that height? Ha ha ha
But Hey - It's classic James bond, sit back and enjoy.
The entire thing is explained in the film, Bond tipped them off and they are pretending to die/fall asleep to ambush Goldfinger.
You think they are fighter aircraft on alert at Ft. Knox? Anti-aircraft missiles?
Well, why don't you raise a few hundred million and make the same film, if you're so smart. You're just some dumb kid who's never taken any chemistry classes.
The Girl At 1:09-1:10 Is The Hottest!!!!!!!!
It's Aleta Morrison.
this type of plane cannot fly at 220 knok; not that fast.
Бред.
