- Blofeld has launched the laser-powered killer satellite - as Bond looks on helplessly the ruthless head of SPECTRE holds the entire world to ransom .... oh and some girl wanders about in a bikini.
John Barry's background score is known as 007 and counting or Blofeld's laser. Развлечения
John Barry's music in this clip is genius. Absolutely brilliant.
usually goes underrated just about all the time. massive admiration and fan of John Barrys work
Similar to capsule in space from you only live twice, an amazing piece of music from a legendary composer
The music throughout the whole film was fantastic.
3:31 The best performance I've ever seen.
Funny, after Explosion the rockets are still standing there
Looks like real
The look on his face and his scream have always made me laugh it was a good performance.
Barry composed three „Bond in space“ themes: Capsule in Space, this one and Moonraker‘s Space flight. And they’re all wonderful and complement each other perfectly.
The old bond movies have some of the best soundtracks ever!
+Obi Ezeilo John Barry all the way...
agree 100 per cent...and they were never nominated for an Oscar...scandalous
The rise of the MTV generation and the popularity of a mediocre talent like Hans Zimmer killed the music in Bond films. Hell, film scores period.
Ricardo Cantoral Agreed.
+universalexports777 some of them can, through you tube.
Great score from John Barry.
He helped make the James Bond franchise great.
so true
John Barry's FANTASTIC score for this sequence turns into cinematic magic what would otherwise be a completely ludicrous sequence ...
The Chinese soldier at the ends face was priceless hahha
Was actually North Korean
@@wwclay86 But it says Chinese at 3:38
@@wwclay86 they even say "explosion in red china" over a radio broadcast later in the film
He had great dialogue:
“AAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHH!!!!!”
@@theyankeekiller93 - But the uniforms ARE N. Korean. Obviously there were mistakes in this production, like most.
I used to worry about premature first stage separation. Now I just think about baseball.
LOL
"That doesn't make sense!"
“We can’t control it Sir!!!”
You remind me of my Mother alright
Wow..now that sounded more like a profound revelation about the story of man's very existence! 🍷👍
I love the music in this scene. Go John Barry!
Wicked Bass line!!
Also the Music why dont they have Music like this in the new Movies. It really grabs the feel of doom and Beauty at the same time genius Composer.
Blofeld as played by Charles Gray is so funny in this film it's hard to hate him. Love his dry Reginald Perrin type English wit as he contemplates new targets.
"The satellite is at present over,,,Kansas. Well, if we destroy Kansas the world might not hear about it for years. Perhaps New York, with all that smut and traffic...might give them a chance for a fresh start. Washington D.C. Perfect. Since we have not heard from them, they will hear from us." ;-D!
lol I burst out laughing when j googled (Ytubed) who you referred to was watching old episodes the other day, Yes he's is "Very Rigby" indeed 🤣
And the one actor to play two different characters in back to back Bond films: Charles appeared in "You Only Live Twice" playing Bond's ill fated contact in Japan.
@@56postoffice you’re forgetting George Lazenby as Bond in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service which was in between those 2 films
Everyone praising John Barry's wonderful score or the Chinese actor's scream. Diamonds Are Forever rocks!
The Chinese guy makes the best performance.
ServantOfPriss hahahahaha lol your comment made me laugh
Korean
I know, right?
@@TK-Nightfire-141 proof of that?
@@judyhopps9380 the flag is a give away ya know
The music soundtrack saved this movie-John Barry was a genius!
The soundtracks of these movies were absolutely brilliant!
Diamonds and Moonraker could both be John Barry's Magnum Opus. Absolute genius.
3:32 And the Oscar goes to...
Pathetic
I love that screaming Chinese guy aghhhhhhh!!!!!
North Korean
@@TheSkete its china
@@tealeafandco - It appears we're BOTH right. I'm told the writing is Chinese, but the uniform is N.Korean.
@@TheSkete Always felt the early NK uniforms in the were based heavily on Soviet uniforms from the 50's
@@TheOverseer2077 - Yes, all those Commie uniforms were very similar.
Best scene of the movie, even if Bond is dressed like some dad chilling at a barbecue.
I agree with both you. I am shocked we didn't see Connery with long black socks and sandals.
Maybe the costume department did that in some connection with the Las Vegas setting, especially since Bond comes from across the pond LOL.Best scene and best music in the movie.
lol
I kind of want that outfit.
Grilling Jimmy Dean sausages
Some of the best music ever
This score is masterful. You just don't get this in modern movies anymore.
Oohhhhhh that music just SENDS ME!
Jimmy Dean: To deal with an out of control satellite includes a hearty breakfast. You need something to kinda warm the whole body up and get it goin'.
Too funny. Wonder what Sir Sean thought of working with him.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂🤣
And if you overdo it at the table, just keep a phone in the john.
Ahhh John Barry's music.
The lilting musical score of John Barry elevates yet another Bond film. Gadgetry aside, the musical scores of John Barry and the powerful vocals of Shirley Bassey became a Bond movie signature..
The music from this excerpted scene was just so beautifully lush--like floating on air yet balanced by those majestic powerful horns balanced by that awesome string section..
Jimmy Dean would have made a perfect Felix Leiter
Portions of this cue would fit perfectly in a wedding procession.
Technician "And there's not a damn thing we can do about it AT THE MOMENT"
Wow, way to kill the tension of a scene haha!
This reminds me of Ronnie Reagan`s Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI)... :)
This really needs cuts of Blofeld cackling as things get melted.
This movie gets a lot of grief, but it’s fun to watch.
Ah, 007 and Counting complements the scene so perfectly. Sets and ominous yet mysterious tone, filled with suspense. Absolutely flawless.
Favorite scene in the whole film.
Mine’s too!’
I Love how after that fella tells off Bond for being confused about priorities he kind of stares off like hes thinking "mmmm I really like that bathroom"
A moment where a villain, even though stopped at the end of the movie, technically won
No way, no how can you beat John Barry
Probably one of the best 007 ost ever, the music is so carismatic, killer diamonds.
The HIGHEST science.
"Whatever's happenin Mr. Bond has started."
No shit.
Love this scene. Classic John Barry at his best. The film is terrific.
Willard Whyte "The power of that thing could be... INCREDIBLE!!!"
Bond "And Blofeld's got it... oh well... fuck it"
Willard Whyte was the best comic relief character the series ever had. I honestly wouldn't mind his return in a future Bond film !
Equally funny for me in this scene is Bond, and how he blatantly can't be fucked in contrast to Willard.
Ricardo Cantoral Sadly though, Jimmy Dean who portrayed Willard Whyte died last year.
TimelordR his sausages did him in...nitrates=cancer
I just LOVE how Connery doesn't seem to give a shit.
He's just waiting to go on his lunch break.
Couldn't wait to get on the fairway
Charles Gray and Gert Frobe. The two best Bond villains ever, and two of the best henchmen ever, Oddjob and Mr Wint and Mr Kidd, the two creepiest villains ever.
Aaaahhhrrrrrrrrr!
Pretty impressive that Blofeld was able to track submarines four years before the tracking system in The Spy Who Loved Me was a plot point.
I remember watching this when it was televised on public television (ABC) as a kid and seeing the missiles turn red before exploding as well as the screaming Chinese soldier. It looks like they edited the scenes on TV as I don't remember seeing the folks dying in North Dakota or the Chinese men catching on fire due to the intense heat.
These scenes have always been shown in full on UK TV, but the death of the villain in Licence to Kill was cut down. Burning by nuclear explosion must be ok but by petrol isn't.
old sean is acting like he is waiting for his paycheck
Phoned it in 🤷
3:38 -Love that explosion of all the missiles that never exploded.
I guess they had to cut down on the SFX budget to pay Sean Connery's astronomical fee.
I think he gave it to charity though tbf
His wig alone counted for half...
They saved on not plucking his eyebrows 💰💰💰💎💎💎
007 and Counting-John Barry
RIP Shane Rimmer
This movie is my #1 007 film. Very classy, awesome soundtrack and Sean is truly enjoying himself.
Don't know whether you're genuine or being pretty sarcastic😂This is easily one of the worst( Moonraker and "Quantum of Solace" tops that "worst" list) Bond films ever.
@@56postoffice You must have the opposite preference order I guess.
Okay...not best Bond flick but I've always enjoyed it...saw it three times summer of 71 at 12yrs old
thank you ive been looking for ages for this!
Mr. Whyte you have an urgent call from Washington.
Whyte: I’ll take it in the John.
LOL 😂
The Big Bad John???
Mr. Whyte: "Hi, Mr. President or Richard, how are you? I got severe Diarrhoea."
President Nixon: "Oh! we got a situation on our hands, Willy." 😂
0:57
By the way, that is a pretty cool noise.
Great ears man. Quality old school ‘digital’ Bond noise.
Jimmy Dean as the victim going ballistic is priceless.
Top notch special effects 😆 🤣 😂
I have always liked this score. But they could have way better in the special effects.
im has gleamashimer checking shields
BAH-ah-HAH?! I haven't got anything in fucking BAH-ah-HAH!
i love this music
"Do you mind if we stop Blofeld first?" LOL
Excellent movie 🇺🇲🇬🇧
If this were Stargate SG-1 that weapon would prove pretty useful against the Goa'uld!
Alert Strategic Air Command!
Give me an open line to SAC!
Unplug the WOPR 1st...
Blofeld is a real super-villain, eliminating nuclear weapons everywhere...
So he can use a laser in the same way?
With no opposition?
The two operations guys are hilarious!
Who'd have thought billionaire Wyllard Whyte was played by Jimmy *Big Bad John* Dean?
Dr Donald Blake Excellent casting!!
Watched DAF on TV last night and noticed that the soundtrack has been enhanced to include every click, whine and mechanical rumble that was not present on the original film. I'm undecided if I liked it, or not, but it added a different element. The satellite sequence was a perfect example.
Probably best scene in a very mediocre film-John Barrys soundtrack is absolutely brilliant!
It says something when the best acting in the movie comes from the two men at satellite control. In better movies, their performances would blend in with quality acting from the main cast. Not so this time.

Haha, funny :)
Best acting is 3:31 - that chinese soldier close up =D

"Shove your honor!"
Man, the explosions in this scene look pitiful.
It is a old movie.
@@MarcoPolo82 A lot of older films back then had way better, far more convincing explosions. These explosions were just half assed like this whole film and Sean Connery's pathetic performance.
Right?
@@taliamason7986 Yup well they paid Connery so much to get him to come back and do one more film that they basically cut the budget for the special effects to cover his salary..
The explosions in Thunderbirds were amazing and yet this is all they could do for a film made at the same time.....oh dear
This a Bond film that was full self parody and it was funny as hell. No offense to Craig but I actually would rather watch this over any of his films.
Seconded. The modern Bonds make even the bad old Bonds seem like masterpieces.
marinetti Unfortunately, times changed. Bond had to adapt to the status quo in order to stay afloat.
Ricardo Cantoral Well, well, well. Look what the cat dragged in. I'm delighted to meet you, Miss Case. I'd so dreaded the prospect of making this tedious journey alone.
marinetti Blofeld in drag. If that doesn't bring in the LOLs, nothing will.
and Blofeld quoting La Rochefoucauld was a rare highbrow moment in the series
The Alan Parson's Project
I thought that was some kind of hovercraft.
Well, who ever is doing that.... That guy is good. Destroying all Nuclear weapons. 😀 Right Mister Bond?
The real Alan Parsons Proyect.
Excellent movie all of them
"And Blofeld's got it... oh well"
I always felt this scene didnt have the proper weight. I mean a lone terrorist has an orbital satellite laser and can hit anywhere on earth. The world seems rather calm about the whole thing.
When I think of this scene, this I want to do to my secondary school as pay back- just kidding , or am I 😀
The nuclear mushrooms are awesome 🤣🤣🤣
"Blofeld is controlling the satellite" bond: erm ugh eh never mind
"And Blofeld's got it, ah well" Connery looks bored as shit in this scene it's hilarious.
And just stays behind instead of following the gang! Time to relax 😅
@@billyb4223 He knew there was no point in running around, like a chicken with it's head cut off.

the futility of pacifism.. this film is perfect...

haha i had the same thought
RIP Thomas Sean Connery- 1930-2020
3:32 is hilarious
"Shove yr honor!!"
Interesting. This is the movie and scene Grantby sampled for his song Timber.
*S P A C E F O R C E ! ! !*
A first stage burn that took 24 minutes? That's ludicrous.
A shame the rest of the film never measured up to this scene, which I think is the best in the whole thing. And John Barry's score? Su-poib!!
6 SPECTRE-agents disliked this.
Am I the only one who thinks the Satellite technician on the left (without glasses) looks like Jim from The US Office?
Chinese guy the highlight of the movie

i also think its funny that the painting of the earth in the beggining looks way better than any other painting in any other clip of this video........
