I bought the same tank from Home Depot. I found out it didn’t have any instructions at all so glad I found your video and because of you I didn’t have any issues it was a painless install
I just bought this same toilet tank from Home Depot. My old one had a slow leak on the flapper. I tried many flappers and even tried a dual flush system. It kept on leaking!! Then I looked for a video to help me install it and the first one that came out was this one. Like you said is very simple but this video made it even easier. Funny that this toilet tank with everything included costs the same as the dual flush valve! Hopefully it wont leak and it will last a good while. Thanks for the video!
*Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!* 100% accurate and very simple. The tank was at Home Depot like you said, $39.99 ($40) like you said. I installed it from memory of your video since the directions included were for replacing a whole toilet. Took 10 mins. and works great with no leaks. I bought 3 because every toilet in our house was broken or barely works. We have had alot of water damage due to the contractor's negligence and cheap fixtures. God bless you.... your video was Divine Providence!!!
I have an American Standard 4092. Went to Home Depot, even the skew was perfect. It took me a bit, but the install was very easy. I had to get a replacement flex hose to replace the existing water supply pipe. No biggie. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Less that $40.00 and the cracked replacement tank was fixed. Super appreciated.
Very helpful. My teenage daughter wants me to help her paint the kids' bathroom and we needed to get that tank off to remove the wallpaper and put new paint behind there. Your description made it all easy peasy to take it all apart and get it back together. Got new gasket and hardware to ensure no problems for another decade or whatever. Thanks so much, you made it all a lot less stressful.
Thanks for the vid!!! We heard a pop come from the bathroom and came in to find water spewing out. Looks like water tank replacement day. I appreciate this video. 👍👍
Thanks a lot, about to try and do this myself today and am intimidated bc I’m not a super handy type with this kind of thing, but watching this was a relief! I feel like I can get this, no problem now. Much appreciated!
***NOTE*** THIS IS NOT A ONE SIZE FITS ALL TANK! There are a couple things to take into consideration. The first is that there are many toilets this will NOT fit. Next is that it is 1.28 gallons. If you have an older toilet that is 3 or more gallons. It will not release enough water to actually flush it. It will just add more water to the bowl. Slowly trickle down the sewer line until it stabilizes. If it does have enough force to flush it. It may only fill the bowl less than half way since the bowl is bigger. Finally if you pause the video at about 2:02 you will see the flapper does not sit on the bottom of the tank. It is raise up to create more force. This is going to do all kinds of things with water pressure and amount. There are more parts you can buy & work to be done. It can be done but it will be anything but a quick/cheap fix. With all said...... If you have a very simple. small size, generic type toilet. For $40 you can give it a try, The only other issue is if it does not work. You may have a hard time returning it. Home Depot makes it very clear that this is a specific tank for a specific bowl. It is NOT a replacement tank. The manufacturer makes it crystal clear, If you ask a worker at the store they will tell you NO do not get it to replace a tank...... If you are still going to try it (you know you are), I would modify the installation (from the video) as follows: 1. Put the gasket/bolt sleeves through the tank first, Then put the the bolt into the sleeve, If you think it is a chore this way, Try putting the bolts into the sleeve first. It will give you nightmares. 2. When he shows the nuts/washer on the bottom of the tank (and states never put metal to ceramic), DO NOT put any nut there. They go to the bolt after it passes through the bowl Not BEFORE. 3. You should not have to use a screwdriver when tightening it up. If you need a screwdriver, you are cranking it down to tight, A wrench or socket is all you should need to assemble it.
Thank you for sharing! Our toilet tank cracked, leaking water. It is Marina 1.6 GPT. Should I buy the same brand of 1.6 GPT or any brand and just the same 1.6 GPT for replacement? Thank you in advance!
FYI, you should get the right tank for your bowl model. Otherwise you're taking a big chance with the seal that sits on the bottom of your tank NOT fitting properly on your seat bowl
Thank you for this video. I’m going to replace our tank today, that my son accidentally broke this morning transitioning from his wheelchair to the toilet, so that my husband doesn’t have to worry about doing work on his weekend off. Thank you
I have a cracked tank on a dual flush toilet. Are most tanks interchangeable indoor flush kinds? I’m worried about getting a new tank and finding out it won’t fit. Any advice is welcome.
Thank you! I accidentally dropped a piece of wood on mine and shattered it. Landlord is showing up tomorrow for some other work so I'm going to try and replace so he doesn't freak out. Thanks
I went to the plumbing supply store with the measurements of the old tank-spacing between bolts, size of the gasket, width, height and depth. The guy didn’t want to sell me a tank. He said there probably isn’t any tank that would fit a 75 year old bowl. I think he was wrong. If the measurements match, why wouldn’t it work? Maybe I should have gone to Home Depot instead of trying to support a local business.
"luckily my son caught it before it got too bad...." 😜 how we all have same experience with our little angels seem to "catch" the problem before everyone else 🤣🤣🤣

Which tank did you get? Have the exact same one but having a hard time finding one at home depot

I just watched a professional plumbers terrible video before this, left me a bit confused. So simple, thank you.

Thanks for the video! Huge help. Gonna do this job myself. Really appreciate it.
Thanks for the video. Saved me a lot of headaches. The big one being a call to the landlord
Dude, very helpful information. I found a cracked tank too and bought this one in your link. 5 minute install.
I'm glad I found your channel... Thank you.
Thank you for sharing! Our toilet tank cracked, leaking water. It is Marina 1.6 GPT. Should I buy the same brand of 1.6 GPT or any brand and just the same 1.6 GPT for replacement? Thank you in advance!
Thank you. Just what I needed.
Glad it helped!
Thank you sir, I thought it was gonna be alot more complicated than it really was
Good video had to do this today at 6am so far so good . Thanks

Yup I bought this same tank and it don’t fit 😭
thanks for the $300 you saved me.
Thank you for this video. I’m going to replace our tank today, that my son accidentally broke this morning transitioning from his wheelchair to the toilet, so that my husband doesn’t have to worry about doing work on his weekend off. Thank you
Glad to be of help.
Fantastic video thanks
Dude... you’re a life saver!

Thank you! Awesome video!
Thanks for the video my friend. You showed me what I needed to see. Very good Sir.
Thank you! I accidentally dropped a piece of wood on mine and shattered it. Landlord is showing up tomorrow for some other work so I'm going to try and replace so he doesn't freak out. Thanks
Great video!
Can you put any tank on any bowl or did you get the same brand
Thank you. That was exactly what I needed.
this guy is the man
Can you put in any tank or do you need a specific model?
I like to see a homeowner did it their self . That could be a tricky job not all tank and bowels are compatible..
Why in the world would you buy a tank that wasn't made for your bowl??? Check your bowl/seat model and make sure you get the right tank for it.
💯 my man!
Already!
Thank you sir!
thank you for the info sir!! great video
Thanks for sharing bro
thank you for the video !!
Thank you A+ video
All toilet tanks aren't the same the bolt spreads are different. A glacier bay tank won't work on a Kohler bowl.
Thank you🙏
Thanks for the info...
Thanks!!!
💪🏽
how you select the tank are they standard, one tank fits all toilets. thanks in advance saludos
I had to take measurements
@@weldingandstuff can you please produce a video on the correct way to select a toilet water tank. Saludos
I went to the plumbing supply store with the measurements of the old tank-spacing between bolts, size of the gasket, width, height and depth. The guy didn’t want to sell me a tank. Good video
does the tank have to be the same model as bowl? Or are all tanks universal?
No
they are fairly all universal as long as it fits, try get a universal model for the next one.
"luckily my son caught it before it got too bad...." 😜 how we all have same experience with our little angels seem to "catch" the problem before everyone else 🤣🤣🤣
Is this tank a universal one?
those are channel locks
I will letcha know. Subscribed anyway though
hey man. thanks.
My toilet tank from 1986 cracked tonight, I'm going to limp with epoxy until I can fix it
Is this a universal toilet?
I’m assuming the brands don’t have to match right??
... THAT'S IT!?
I was stressing over nothing, other than getting my hands dirty.
Is toilet tank is universal size? Can be connected to old toilet?
They are not unfortunately. Have to measure the distance between the two holes
Be careful with toilet tanks. If they break, the shards are very sharp and you can get seriously injured.
Yes indeed; be really careful
My tank is a Sasa 3412 and was wondering if this came from home Depot for $40 is a universal tank?
Thanks bro my roomate was completly hammered and destroyed our tank
Lol
