Excellent video thank you for sharing it! Your pump looked great on the inside... somebody must have kept up with their oil changes! I am glad our kit worked out for you in the end.
I actually bought a new pump about a month after making this video since i wasn’t sure if the discoloration was normal or not. I kept the old one and now that you say it’s good i won’t be afraid to use it 💪 your kit is Awesome btw 👍
ThAnks for your videos!
Great, thank you and God Bless 🙏
Great video looking forward to the next one
Thank you 🙏
Just wanted to say I'm not mechanically minded but I am learning.
My r56 2009 s series has a leak; watching your videos has given me the confidence to locate and fix it.
over time, I'm going to follow your steps and overhaul all the hoses as from what I have seen they are all crap and break easily.
Just need to ask, would getting metal coolant hoses improve, or prevent future leaks or should I stick with the plastic ones?
Keep doing simple video like this u will be like chris fix
Hello a great job perfect 👍👍👍from Germany 🇩🇪 👋👋👋Kai
Thank you 🙏
Excellent video......and explanation. Yeap....replace that pump with a new one.
Might be a good idea to replace every 80K miles. My R56 has 120K and starting to notice an occasional issue with the Brake Booster.
Vacuum pump is a lot less expensive than the Brake Booster.
Thank you 🙏 you’ll be spending a lot of money if your vacuum pump fails 💯
Hey bud. Great videos. So I have a question. Right now my vacuum lines go from the pump right to the solenoid and right back to the turbo. So someone bypassed the vacuum tank. Is that ok ?? Does the Reservoir tank have any purpose really ?? Thanks man.
Is this the same for the R55 Clubman?
Have you thought about doing a vacuum pump delete? Or do you believe replacing/rebuilding the vacuum pump every xxx amount of miles is good enough? How many miles would you recommend? Keep up the good work!
You need vacuum for your brakes to work and for your waistgate to work
@@ProjectMini Sorry, delete isn't the right word. I meant swap. I have heard of people blocking off the original vacuum pump and installing an electric vacuum pump.
That would be s good idea, maybe someday I’ll try it
how many miles on that engine
Hi do you have to reset the timing adaptations after replacing this part? Cheers
I didn’t have too
Should title the video “reseal” instead of “rebuild “. I believe there’s likely a bearing for the coupling shaft you didn’t address. This pump is critical. When it fails the exhaust cam quits turning. Happened to me. Luckily I didn’t have valve damage. Many have.
Do you know the size of the orrings??? Oem orange one is square not circular. I’m from Uruguay I can’t buy this kit in my country.
I don’t know the size, but I’m sure that if you contact the manufacturer they can tell you. The vacuum pump I rebuilt in the video is OEM do everything you saw me remove in the video was OEM.
Project Mini thanks! My vacuum pump is exactly identical as yours
I changed the seal but still leaking, any ideas?
Vakum pompasını yenisiyle değiştirmek iyi fikir sızdırmaya devam ediyor
What noises did you hear from it? How did you know the vacuum pump needed to be fix/rebuilt? My Mini Cooper s 07 r56/n14 is spuddering in a way? As well the turbo doesn’t kick on when i give it gas. Half check engine light is on, just got the thermostat housing replaced, water pipe, water pump, hoses. Expansion tank. Timing Chain and everything along with it got replaced too a while back, HPFP is new as well, vacuum pump is making a slight off noise that it never made before. I need help on this
Mine didn’t make any noise. I took it off so i could move my oil feed line and saw how bad the gasket was. It was leaking oil though
I don't suppose you found what the issue was, mines doing the exact same thing
10 n. m
Ever had a code p0014 p0015 because of this pump?
I haven’t
Where is the pump located in the engine?
On the head right next to the turbo inlet pipe. Its what the vacuum line that goes over your intake tube plugs into
