- THE BRAKES DONT WORK! How to diagnose, replace and test a vacuum brake pump on a mini cooper clubman 1.6 petrol r55 2007
Hopefully a useful video!
I would use a vacuum gauge to test my pump before buying and replacing a $200 (non OEM) $500 (OEM)) pump. but to each their own. Could have been the line or the booster.
what are the especs for the vaccum?
Would recommend pre-lubing the pump with engine oil before fitting.
i dont understand why you went through all the trouble of drawing a diagram and spending so much time explaining how the vaccum pump works, but didnt even bother cleaning the surface of the motor before installing the new pump. otherwise very informative video
what spec did you put your vacumpump bolts to ?
Thanks for this but......What was the initial problem that led you to change the pump? Spongy brakes, noisy pump?
MikeJF355 he clearly said that he now has brakes that work so you would think that they were not working properly before he replaced the vacuum pump 🤷🏻♂️
Does that run the turbo
Not exactly a diagnosis as you claimed. Could have been the servo/brake assist itself or the line. It’s fine to just buy new everything and see if it fixes the problem, but that’s not exactly the same as showing us how to diagnose the fault exactly
seal surface need to be cleaned ( leaks ), not show this work like this please
you forgot to remove old gasket
Deny Milano no he didn’t 😂 pay attention
Almost lol
Got to put a little oil on the new gasket so it seals right! “Scotty Kilmer” basics! Lol
haha he sees it last minute, silly bloke
Couldnt you just rebuild it?
you should always disconnect the positive side of the battery. please correct that in the video
stilkus wrong negative should be disconnected first then at that time theres no need to disconnect the hot because there is no ground to terminate dc voltage to
