I am replacing power steering pump and fuel lift pump on that engine tomorrow symptoms were loss of power steering then loss of fuel there is fuel all over the bottom hopefully it's not because of a bad air compressor I will have to take it all apart and inspect if you have any advice on that job I would love to hear it thank you have a great night
Nice video. Just one question. I have a 2013 kw t660 paccar MX 13 and the diesel filter is located about near the top and is the metal type and the element filter little be more behind close to the cab
You know, the engines we have, they used to have that problem with the oil leak, at first, seems like it is the retaining plastic plug but in reality it is the whole oil pan, pay attention around the driver side of the pan (Left side), there is a gap or cutout in the pan, if you look closely you will see a small crack in that area. You could change the whole pan or patch it up with silicone or fiberglass. I hope this help you . Thanks for watching.
Opinions vary about Volvo trucks, my personal opinion is those trucks are second choice after Freightliner these days, Comfort and stability Volvo takes the cake but reliability and resale value goes for Freightliner. This just an small opinion for now... feel free to check my videos about Volvo trucks like this one: ruclips.net/video/iCFwcQn4NNY/видео.html
Probably aftermarket filters, rare places have them genuine filters, still that is nice that they carry those in stock. Good to know. Thanks for the information.
What a shame.... Kenworth used to be the truck everyone admired and copied....now it is a cheap knock off of a Volvo....Least Paccar still has the 389 Peterbilt
Other drivers have told me the same thing. Let's hope for a better design in the years to come from Paccar. You know, it is good that they compete for the costumers that way you have few choice more than just Freightliner or Volvo.
Sorry about that but I can play it from RUclips App (this is from an IPhone though). Try again later or restart your smartphone if you are using one or restart your browser if you are using a desktop or laptop.
I am sorry if I sound like that in the video, but as you know, this is my personal opinion, manufacturers like Detroit Diesel or Volvo have improve their design greatly in order to perform maintenance and repair in less time, so vehicles can be return to the costumer and be over the road quickly. I do like to learn about this engine regardless of the hard work but couple improvements will be welcome in future paccar engine generations. Thanks for watching.
Thanks my friend coz I were going to buy paccar but now I changed my mind m going for Freightliner now
I love your channel man! You break it down and are very straight forward. Keep it up man!
Thanks man for the support. Check it out my other videos you might find good info about other engines and components.
It's a DAF diesel engine ,I believe they're built pretty tough
they're not
I hate paccar working on a mx13 in a 2015 t680 kw
Thanks bro very helpful video 👍
No problem, stay tune for more.
Look closely you see the coolant hose rubbed a hole almost through under the resivour

Coolant pump is very easy to replace on paccar engines 2
Thank you for share that fact. I know, that might be easy but now that you confirmed. It is good to know. Thank you for watching.
i think these engines would be really good without egr stuff
DAF Trucks started production in Brazil late 2013. Last year the XF 106 was the second sold heavy truck. Volvo was 1, Mercedes 3 and Scania 4.
Have you had any recent break downs? I’m looking to a Paccar engine but I don’t wanna get one and it will leave me broke down somewhere.
Honestly I hate the retaining ring around the plastic oil pan been having nothing but problems lately with oil leak around the oil pan

Europe is using this engine on DAF trucks
It is a good engine, but sadly, no market in the US for now, compare to DD15, Volvo D13 and Cummins X15.
PACCAR MX Engines are super easy to work on! Lol. Not built tough, that's for sure.
