Apply a little Vasoline on the 0 ring and roll the twist out of the 0 ring with a small screwdriver . Lubricate the threads on the fuel canister ! On Paccar fuel / water separators there is a two position valve , Run and Prime .
Don't know if there same but on the paccar engines here in the uk there is a inline filter under the priming pump at the side of the main filter. If you unscrew the primeing pump it's underneath that.
Yeah we have the mx13 engines over here set up a little different but they look very similar. There's a RUclips channel called truck tech uk he is a daf dealer mechanic in the uk he deals with paccar engines all the time. He goes into very detail diagnosis on these engines.
As having senior crew chief lube technician title. You should definitely NEVER put the filter in dry, pump up the fuel level in the filter housing it will remove the air bubble that made your truck shut down immediately after you changed the fuel filter. And it will remove the strain on your starter and fuel pump. As well as not running your cylinders dry.
Yupe i knew u mess up soon as u got a small cup then started it up. Gotta fill that filter with diesel, pump it till its hard!!!! Then start it Bleeding that water Separator fuel filter to add fuel, u just took bad fuel and added to the new filter if u didn't bleed it first As for the starter , i ran into that problem trying to start it for a long time. Happen to me when I didn't know all my fuel was on the right and no fuel on my left tank which is where it pulls to feed the beast. Check engine light just saying fuel issue and possibly air in the fuel lines Note: anyone that never change a fuel filter on thier own and wanna try it please do it at a TA or loves parking lot. Just in case I see G's wish came true . He was saved We all live and learn something new everyday. Safe travels 🙏 man
If you have to manually prime with the pump, crack the nut on the fuel rail at the #1 injector (the front one closest to the radiator) and pump until fuel flows out solid. Tighten the nut and the truck will start tight up without throwing codes. Got this tip from Koon Trucking on a video they posted changing a fuel system part.
First comment - When you crack the filter and you can see the O-Ring, stop and wait. As long as you do not have the blend valve it will drain the fuel back and you could avaoid spinning too much fuel. Second comment - Asphaltenes can make your filter look bad, you can not determine fuel filter life visually. Third comment - Always use a 25 micron fleet guard filter, NEVER anything else....trust me.
@@ATruckersLife Yeah that’s what I figured because there is no issues with performance or anything otherwise they would tell me somethings wrong so I figured I’d ask maybe it’s a black algae issue or something I gotta take care of in the tanks
When you change that filter you are supposed to click it into the cap not insert it in the housing. As a mechanic i appreciate you not over tightening the cap. Then you pump the primer 120 pumps. Then start the engine and let it run for 10 minutes before shutting it off. Also the truck is equipped with starter overheat protection. Normal on most new trucks. It lets you crank for 30 seconds then enters a starter cooldown mode and wont let you crank again until the starter cools down, usually 3 minutes.
First off Happy Birthday to you Jorge second I don't know what you've done to hot chocolate, but she's been getting real finicky brother. 😂😂 she needs a day of pampering like a wash and wax...lol 😂
I would highly advise not to take fuel out of the bottom of your fuel water separator because all the sediment sits at the bottom of that filter and you just stuck it in the new clean filter
Hey can I ask you what do you think about the driver that got 110 yrs of jail do you think it was race motivated I don't believe so iv driven 10 yrs and I think he should be responsible
Next time fill your filters as much as you can with fuel, and never take fuel from the water separator while your changing the other filter cause it will cause a air pocket in the fuel system. When changing your primary fuel filter before you tighten it down use pump to prime the filter until you see fuel coming out, then tighten it, do the same with the water separator filter.
Can you please tell us more about the scan tool device that you are using to reset the fault codes? Whats the name of it? Thank you so much, and happy belated birthday!
No sir no sirrrrr. Secondary filter goes in the cap before the bowl. Probably why the seal ripped on your last one. Second, do not use wattery dirty fuel from your primary bowl to put into the secondary. Stop the tutorials
Yes, too much plastic stuff that breaks easily. Not enough redundancy to keep you moving. They want you to visit the dealership like going to your doctor.
Leave the dome loose and work the priming pump until it starts to dribble, the tighten it down
Happy Birthday Vato be safe I hope the present comes in handy for you one of these days.
Thank you so much again bro… It already has..
@@ATruckersLife It already did ha ha

Ayyyy I’m a December baby aswell happy birthday bro!!!!!! Que tengas un súper chido weekend
Y si hermano. Muchas gracias brother igualmente..
Yea the fuel pump is a gear pump so how do you get the fuel to prime up when the fuel bowl runs out of diesel.
You’re videos are so pleasing. Keep on trucking sir!
Thank you
notice you don't have a bleeder nut on the top two nuts on the fuel rail. you can purchase it at a dealership.
HappyBirthday drava

@@ATruckersLife you welcome merry Christmas to you and your family
I’ve got the same truck and engine. Does your fuel water separator filter also turn black at some point? Mine does and I’m not sure if that’s normal
It’s normal my truck does that as well
@@ATruckersLife Yeah that’s what I figured because there is no issues with performance or anything otherwise they would tell me somethings wrong so I figured I’d ask maybe it’s a black algae issue or something I gotta take care of in the tanks
Mine does too. Eventually it'll plug up and need to be replaced. Other trucks I've had, the filter stays clean so it might just be a peterbilt thing.
After fuel filters change no start up that means rear lift pump unit pump is not working and also one bad injector
Happy belated birthday
Thank you

Hello brother what’s the name of diagnostic part you connected to the truck on phone please and god bless you
OTR performance
What’s the name of that scanner?
I would highly advise not to take fuel out of the bottom of your fuel water separator because all the sediment sits at the bottom of that filter and you just stuck it in the new clean filter
Thanks I will definitely follow your advice it’s much appreciated
Happy 43 from Bryan,Tx
Thank you
Bia tarde que ferramentas e essa VC usa pra ver código falhas posta ai pra gente valeu
What is the scan tool name brother you never named it
Next time fill it with diesel and easy filter in and that’s dirty diesel and water u took out the water separator
Hey can I ask you what do you think about the driver that got 110 yrs of jail do you think it was race motivated I don't believe so iv driven 10 yrs and I think he should be responsible
Where did you get the scan tool?
OTR performance
Hola Jorge podrías dar más información acerca de la aplicación para el teléfono referente a los códigos, muchas gracias

My guy didn’t prime the system 😂🤣🤦🏻♂️
Use six points socket
Can you please tell us more about the scan tool device that you are using to reset the fault codes? Whats the name of it? Thank you so much, and happy belated birthday!
It’s called OTR performance. If you go through my videos I have a video showing how it works
For some reason pacar engine remains me of a M11/M14
No sir no sirrrrr. Secondary filter goes in the cap before the bowl. Probably why the seal ripped on your last one. Second, do not use wattery dirty fuel from your primary bowl to put into the secondary. Stop the tutorials

Yes I’ve learned thank you.. live and learn they say😬
If this makes younger reverse the numbers 43 to 34 yrs old.😆
Lol.. Thank you…
It suppose to be white😂
Paccar sucks. Before the engines leave the factories they’re already blown up
They’re not that bad. This is my third one and I’ve never had an issue with then engines. I’ve only had issues with the def system.
Yes, too much plastic stuff that breaks easily. Not enough redundancy to keep you moving. They want you to visit the dealership like going to your doctor.
Sorry but You did it the wrong way
Lol yeah I know now.. Live and learn they say🤦🏻
Hap Bday ole son!! Always pump 100+ times before cranking!!!
Thank you..
Happy birthday
