As someone that drives a 2023 579 with the mx-13, I can tell you that its been pretty decent so far so long as you run fuel injector cleaner on the regular because the injectors can have issues. Definitely a comfortable truck. Freightshaker gets its name for a reason. Also, the transmission is pretty smooth on the truck as well for the automatic. The only thing I definitely would say needs an update is the infotainment system they put in there. The software crashes all the time and runs android 4.4. They really need to update it. Only other negative is the fridge is small. Otheewise, solid truck and hardly have to worry about the shop because I'm almost never in it!
Golden cow (now white cow 😂) got about 60 2024 Petes and I got one of them that I just moved out of - back to a Cascadia. (You can probably see I am a company driver.) The bunk AC is less integrated than Freightliner. Initial build quality is questionable. A rubber bushing/cap on driver side handrail is crooked from factory. Buttons are lazy. Something don't sit right; 2 curtain hangers broke already. Shore power is a 20A plug, very hard to get cord for; I had to make my own. I will need 2 keys when I run these, because there is no remote luggage door release, unless you get one with sleeper access door. Need the second key to open it for tools while truck is running. Cummins X15 is fine, but that 12 speed manumatic is a headache. It keeps throwing transmission faults, and I really hate how it manages near the speed cap, plus it coasts at 500rpm instead of the usual 700rpm idle, makes for one shaker, and it does it from any gear, and will not override unless I go manual mode, where it imposes various limits just to stymie me. I think the root cause is 12th gear being too tall. The last time it went to the dealer again and they offered me a loaner truck, I asked to move "permanently" into it, dropping a laundry list of complaints along the way.
I bought my 579 in December last year so far I love it. I get around 8.5 mpg my only complaint is I should have gotten a different axle ratio but I’ve not had any issues with the truck at all
PACCAR engines are not known for reliability. Were it me, I'd be putting a Cummins X15 and a diesel-powered APU. I don't like the battery pack APU because the prime mover will start up in the middle of the sleep period and then the damn thing will start revving at about 1200-1300 RPM - immediately after starting!! No time to allow the oil pump to get the oil up into the top of the engine - which is of course not good for reliability.

Super ego has 2025 Pete's i didn't like the top bunk folding
It's only good for storage for me
The worst truck never try to buy Paccar
Why do you believe so?
I have personally very bad experience these motors have injectors issues they have replaced 12 times in a year so never buy it
Peterbuild has very expensive spare parts and not all shops have them, not all shops take them for repair. An hour of work costs more and not all mechanics know how to service. An old truck with a Packard costs much less than with a Cummins.
