Preach!
Topic = optic anagram?
Funny how marketing still follows the Sears & Robuck coined "Good, Better, Best" model paradigm
we all stand on the shoulders of giants.
Same with everything tools ammo phones electronics almost everything has the 3 options.
That’s sales in general. The illusion of three options but most go for the middle option
@@jonnyboy1411 right. It's called bracketing.
@@jonnyboy1411found this out when I was a salesman in my early days. Most people think the lower option will be too cheaply made and won’t last, but they don’t want to shell out the money for the best option because they most likely don’t need all the features or tech. So… this leaves one option. It’s basic sales psychology. We’re average people.. we want the average option.

Side note, Primary Arms is no longer making the Glx 1-10x and once the sell out of inventory, that's it.
That was fast. Why are they already ditching it?
@@johndunbar2393 IIRC it was a project they were exploring prior to the coof (JP glass, 1-10, FFP and all that jazz) and they finally got their pre-prod. run in so once it's sold out it's out
you can look up either arfcom or snipershide for more info
@johndunbar2393 , If I remember correctly it was supposed to be released sooner as part of their Plx line, but then COVID restrictions messed up the supply chain. There is a write up on SnipersHide where Primary Arms explains why.
Performance is not there with other glx
@johndunbar2393 supply chain issues. It was supposed to come out a while ago, but CVID restrictions messed things up. They were able to complete the initial batch, but then put a hold on it. There is a better in depth reason on SnipersHide from one of the people at Primary Arms.

The plx 1-8 compact is great. Primary just needs to expand their plx line by adding a 2-12 or 3-18. I don't know what they are waiting for.
A market
And provide reticles without chevrons.
@@khalilrowe5608people buy the athlon 2-12 and vortex 3-18
I asked them if they had any plans on producing a 2-12x a couple years ago, and they told me they didn't have anything in the works. I'm hoping they change their mind. A 2-12x Plx with a M10 reticle would be pretty nice, but without the big donut
@@itsmytime9110donut is awesome for 1x, not so much beyond.
Godless heathen here lol. I purchased the glx 1-10 griffin and glx 1-6 griffin at the same to compare the two. I feel that the 1-6 had a much better 1x, but I really wanted at least 8x magnification. So I opted to go with the 1-10 and piggyback a red dot. I wish the sub 1k market for lpvos had more FFP 8x or 10x mil tree style reticles to offer but it does not at this time. So the 1-10 seems like the de facto winner. And technically if you get lucky you could get a plxc for $1050 if it’s open box. FWIW I also tested the swampfox warhorse FFP 1-6 and that actually had a really good 1x but the reticle was a .5 mil tree with not nearly enough wind dots for windy north Texas. I think that’d be a really interesting option if they ever release the 1-8 and 1-10 with a better reticle
Sorry I just bought a Beretta 1301 and that is now my entire personality. LVPOs no longer relevant.
I'm just gonna get the PA Nova and call it a day
I bought one and I couldn't be happier with it. Hard to beat for the price.

holy shit BF, perfect timing. putting together a 20" build and been looking at the GLx 1-10. really like the ACSS Raptor reticle, also have one of their 3x Prisms with it.
Thanks for giving a critical review of every optic known to man.
This is your best review video. Thanks mang
9:34 “Most of you probably don’t have wives” 😂
I'm really glad you did this review. I might still get the PLX but now I see how little difference there is between the SLX glass and GLX glass.
Tiborasaurus rex did some science on the 3 tiers of primary arms scopes and the SLX is like 90% as good of glass as the GLX and the GLX and PLX are like dead even in glass quality
I would definitely be interest in an LPVO teir ranking video with Hop similar to the LAM video, especially the second half where it's all adjusted for price.
Thank you for this! I have a primary arms slx raptor and I been wanting to see a side by side!
I bought a nova about 9 months ago on your rec & I’ll never give it up til it falls to pieces lol
One of my favorite parts of BrassFacts videos is seeing Brock get, very stoicly, hit in the face by hot brass and just keep going.
I'm left wondering why not use a MPVO with piggyback red dot, once you're up to the 23 ounces of the GLx 1-10x.
Thanks for getting another strap for your Alpinist.
Notice me senpai 🙏 a banger I'll listen to now, and rewatch later so I can see you wave your arms around / your included edits so everything has more context 😎
I have been waiting on a review of the GLx 1-10. I like the updated reticle compared to my PLxC at the 1 magnification. The Mil reticle has been amazing for me.
Same
SLx's used to be around $500 several years ago. I have an Athena 3-18x and when it released, it was over $500. Then it dropped down to its $400 or less and I was kicking myself in the ass.
Buying a LPVO requires understanding that it is not a one-scope-fits all unit, unless you box in your expectations of use. For example, I have a 1-8x that lives on a 14.5" AR. It spends most of it's life on 1x, but I have the ability to flex it to 8x if needed. Then, I had a 1-10x on an 18" gun. It's a SFP, but that's ok because it spent most of its life locked at 10x, with the ability to flex to 1x. I since found that my 2-12x was far more tolerable in this role for eyebox constraints, with an offset RDS for good measure.
Brock, even though I've never bought an LVPO I appreciate how much time you spend picking them apart.👍
I do it for you. Yes you specifically
Wow calling me out for watching this at work
Yeah I bought the SLX 1-10x griffin mil on sale for $400 plus tax…. Agreee with your assessment, but this optic is decently suited for a “battle rifle” set up like what I have now on my AR10 in .308
just my algorithmic $0.02 cents. 😊
keep up the good work sir 👍
You’re using the SLx 1-10 on an AR-10?
@@illestdomer2005 yes sir
And this is why I have a 2x10 GLX on the hillion with a T2 offset
Speaking of 1-10s, athlon ares 1-10 is 60% off on expertvoice rn (She chonky though). Along with various other athlon 1-4,6,8 and mpvo and high power options. If you got access, go forth and splurge brothers.
The Helion with any scope gives off massive WA2000 vibes. Shame it has that terrible height over bore tho lol
@BrassFacts Speaking of the hellion... and it's lefty ejecting... how do you find it shooting suppressed? I'm also a cursed lefty and find myself trying every platform... looking for something that doesn't give me instant cancer. Tried the Tavor, lefty ARs, scar, etc... any suggestions on lefty 556 guns for least gas in the face?
@BrassFacts, which one of those 2 reticles would you recommend for a Scar 17? The Griffin or the Raptor
Brassfacts next video needs to be him shooting something in 50bmg and telling us why someone in your group needs an anti material rifle.
*everyone. Fixed it for you.
While not ideal, the 1-10 SFP with the mil reticle can be used pretty well. It’s like the old nightforce nxs scopes, at 5x you can double the mill increments and still get pretty darn good mil performance. YES takes some getting used to and may not be worth it, it does have SOME merit and can be used on 5x with consistency.
Nice data
I’ll second theGLx4 2.5-10 has 80%+ of the glass for 1/2 cost of the PLxC
not me wearing a woobie hoodie as i watch the video lmao
Beautiful
I have the GLX 1-10 LPVO. Glass is amazing. Eye box is a shit show and a half to put it mildly.
That’s very disappointing
That's why I've always told people to only go with a 1-4x or 1-6x with a LPVO. 1-8 or 1-10, by necessity of their tiny objectives, have hilariously crap eyeboxes. If you think you need more than that, get a proper 3-9x40 and slap an offset red dot or BUIS on it.
A 1-10x LPVO is like building a scooter that's also good on the interstate. A concept with extremely mutually contradictory goals that only really does one of them well.
I’m learning that the hard way. My 1-6 is great. I wanted the 2.5-10 but was out of stock. Taking it to the range again in 2 days. Then I’ll decide.
I just purchased the PA GLX 2.5-10x44. Problem solved. I also get parallax adj. Still love my PA GLX 3-18 the most.
@@scott2228 have long have you had the 3-18?
Piggyback red dot on the Springfield is pretty funny. Makes me think just how high you could get your height over bore and it still being something someone would actually run. Like famas with tall scope mount lpvo and piggyback dot,
You know what no Famas, riser mount acog, piggybacked eotech. Fire up the welder
I have no interest in owning either, as I am ascended (PLXc enjoyer) but I will watch, like, and comment none the less.
hey WELT news released a "Documentary" few days ago on the G95K. I think it'd be hilarious to watch you guys' reaction to it
That doc was dumb as hell. Love to see brass/hops reaction too.
based off the gripe about the too small dots, do you think a tree with larger dots and smaller dots in between for higher magnification shooting would be better, or just slightly bigger dots in general?
Thank you so much for doing a formal review of the GLx 1-10× FFP! Several people had asked me to consider doing a follow up after my “first impressions” video and I never got around to it… but I think I may be off the hook now since you touched on basically everything I was thinking and came to the same conclusions about it. 😇 It was cool to hear it via your trademark comprehensive review style that we all know and love!
So you’re glad you bought it? Still have it or moved on? The Japanese build, albeit not LOW, has me intrigued along with the speed ring of sorts.
@@illestdomer2005 Yes, I still have it and enjoy using it on my GPR build. Overall, I would recommend it for essentially the same reasons/use cases that Brass Facts mentioned in the video!

Can you review the Glx v Slx prism next?
Hello yes!
Thank you Mr ass fact
Good video!
I have a second gen 1-6x from PA and it looks like its tinted. 😂 I still love the simplified reticle vs sll the wanna be DMR reticles that very few will actually usevto calculate ballistics.
All premium optics should be cheap cost because of 100% automation in production.
Is it bad that i just want a decent FFP mid-range (2/3x-15/18x[or something in that range]) thats sub 1k with locking turrets, or at least a locking windage turret with a traditional mill reticle?
It would make my day if you made a video on the TA55 acog aka the memecog bc there are no legitimate/ professional reviews out there for it
Kinda prefer the mil reticle on the GLX so I eventually swapped the SLX for that.
I've decided 2 or 2.5 to 10 or 12 is the sweet spot.
Serious question which did you like better? The PA GLX 1-10 or the Arken EP8?
11:23 yes. Yes, it is.
The algorithm must be pleased
You know, that after watching your preparedness videos I see, that there are many more people thinking like that around the globe. Here in Poland there's a channel called "Domowy Survival", that told Poles the same even 10 years ago and still does tell, that it's not about sweating.
Polish prepping community also has some strange people and because we don't have as easy access to boomsticks instead of tacticools it's mainly "primitives", which base their survival on being primitive, not relying on any technology and going back to nature, but that's a long topic.
I suggest you to contact him and you may do an interesting collab with him.
Please upload the hellion review! Im trying to decide if i should buy one or save up for the spear lt. i’m left handed as well.
I hated my slx 1-10. The eye box made it useless as a lpvo, plxc is much better, so is my slx 1-6. Once you get past 8x in a lpvo just switch to a different magnification range
I see Brass Facts video, i click play (even if i want more Elcan Facts)
Should have gone with "Glass Facts"
What’s that mount you’re using for the hollerson?
I run a Holosun AEMS on a riser with a PA GLX 6x magnifier mouted to a FTC unity mount . I just cant get over the eye box restrictions and fish eye LPVOs give at 1x as well as the crap battery life and inability to use with NV .
How is the pa glx 6x, been thinking of getting one? I run a vortex 3x micro on the AEMS. I just wish I had a little more magnification.
What mount are you using for the 12 o’clock red dot?
Id be happy if we started to move to 34mm tubes as standard. Ive got a cheap 1-8 30mm and it really can only be used prone. I might as well have bought a cheap swfa fixed power.
Plxc in mills was on back order for months and had a hard time justifying the cost since I am in college. Ended getting the pst ge2 1-6 in mill and have been very surprised at the quality. I feel the lack of features and weight bring the cost down while the glass is still great.
@brassfacts Just fyi, the GLX 1-10 is not really a GLX. It was a one off run during Covid by PA that got super delayed and once they finally finished, they released them as a limited run. Once they are gone they are gone. And it has Japanese glass, which none of the other GLX have.
I want a 8x fixed microprism. With a red dot on top. Much faster than reaching up and turning the magnification dial. I have never needed any of the magnification that is in between 1x and 8x. A micro fixed prism would be much lighter and probably able to have better glass for the same price
What is the earbud pro that is being used? Does it have BT?
Brock, are you by any chance excited for the PLXC 1-8 Nova?
no, it's a fine optic, but it's very boring and not something I'm interested in running
Let’s go!
Special Purchase scopes with GLx glass for $199 are goated
people always say lpvos are weak and can break.... does anyone know specifically what breaks on lpvos
How are the Scalarworks mounts ?
Have you tried resetting the zero on the Turrents?
No Allen key will fit the screws in mine. Neither the key they sent me nor any other from any other set. I'm waiting days for primary arms to get back to me with a solution for this.
These days, I am trending towards fixed magnification scope with red dot.
5x prism and dot is pretty sweet on a 223 gun. The hardest part is deciding which is the offset optic.
Me: wishing Trijicon would make a battery TA55 for this purpose 😮😅
Holosun eps
best bang for buck i ever got was the 2.5x slx prism for 100 shipped lol
In hindsight, I wish I would have jumped on that deal.
What hearing pro do you use? Haven’t seen too many run earbuds like you do
these are ottos noise barrierz, they're a bit pricey. But it's easy for me to justify.
The axel GS are probably a more economic alternative.
@@BrassFacts Awesome, thanks for the response!!
what earpro are you using?
I like my arken EP8 but I’m definitely looking for a Lpvo on my 12.5
Great review. I own both original PA 1-8x ACSS scopes, the silver class/SLX SFP and platinum class/ PLX FFP and love them both.
But...if I have to choose just 1 I'll go with the smaller, lighter, less expensive SLX. It does everything I ask of it and optical performance is so close to the platinum, I often cant see a difference.
Besides SFP makes much more sense on an LPVO or any scope below 10x to 12x imo.
Why would anyone range or fire at a distant target on anything but max mag anyway? FFP reticles cant even be seen below 3x to 5x anyway.
I'll take SFP, thank you.
So wait a second, the GLx 1-10 has its own “speed ring” of sorts? 😮
Now I'm curious your thoughts around the SLx 4-16. On paper it sounds decent for the price
How does the GLX compare to the VUDU 1-10? Specifically on a .308 or an urban SPR?
comparable, but the vudu 1-10x wins at long range
5:37 POV: You're a federal agent who just no-knock raided a house (you got the wrong address)

yeah

What 1-8 lpvo would you choose if you could only choose one for the rest of your life on your primary rifle
1:07 "I already reviewed it so I can't do it again" we can Alwtdo it again!
you're right, I'm will just review the plx-c forever to save me the hassle of reviewing shit optics.
@@BrassFacts 👌 precisely.
When are you getting a nightforce
I'd be curious to hear your take on, at what price point do you obtain a durable enough optic to rely on?
most LPVOs are going to fail at the mount, so it's really more so a mount thing, not a LPVO thing.
All of them are pretty meh on durability vs prism and Red dots
@@BrassFacts i wonder why we don't see the same lack of durability performance on mpvos and hpvos? Surely a 3-18 or 7-35 is just as complex yet we rarely hear of those failing.
