Very Helpful video. I have an off brand dishwasher (Seasons Pro; made in China) which has a similar sensor mechanism as yours. The water heating element in mine stopped working. I needed to locate the water level sensor and could not identify one ( I was expecting to find one of those magnetic floating switches, but could not find one on this unit). When I finally figured that the translucent housing on the side of my unit may possibly be the level sensing mechanism I came across your video and that confirmed my suspicions. Thank you for sharing that video.
This video is great ! Still helping people in 2022 . I had same issue smart auto and heavy flashing. I opened up side and took off the hose and found some greasy sludge blocking the hose. I used my wet/dry vacuum on the hose and a good amount of water came out and put everything back and it ran fine 😀
I’ve had this issue only twice within two years. Each time I looked at so many 10-15 minute videos that acted like you needed a trained technician to fix it. Found this video both times and It nails it in a quarter of the time. Also, Didn’t use a air compressor and still worked
thank you so much for this clear and concise video. I followed this process and heard the pop of what must have been some food grime/grease blockage in the tube, followed by gurgling water. Re-ran the dishwasher after this and the code went away. Thank you!!
Unbelievable this worked flawlessly. I cleaned the water sensor nicely it looked like new but still didn't work I actually ordered new water sensor but quickly canceled it after trying your remedy. Man you rock thank you thank you thank you.
Thanks, worked great! Saved me a couple hundred dollars I'm sure. Replaced the heating element on my dryer last week using RUclips video. RUclips must be killing the appliance service industry!
Amazing. Worked perfectly. I did have trouble unscrewing the cover in the inside of the dishwasher at 0:22. I poured some vinegar over the cover and let it sit for 10 minutes. That got the cover unstuck.
I just did it and used an adjustable oil filter wrench from the automotive world, It dug into the plastic a bit so I don't recommend it unless it's really stuck. But it did the trick, might help someone else if they see this post.
great video! this helped on my DW80J3020US. for the inside plastic cover, i used a needle nose plier to easily open it; for the drain hose i used a fluid transfer pump for my car, it's smaller hose that fits right in perfectly, goes all the way very deep, worked great sucking out craps. EDIT: HOWEVER, even though the error goes alway after cleanup, the issue persists on the first run, I again open the black hose and lots of water came out, clean up again, put it back, again auto and heavy lights flashing! :(, any one has an idea?
This works! Have POS Samsung dishwasher. Had error code on and off for the last year. Swore at the thing like no ones business but to no avail haha. Did this and it’s good to go. Love RUclips fixes
Update: found that Smart Auto flashing is the waterinlet valve issue. The computer opens the valve to let water in, and the paddle wheel counts the revolutions. If the computer sees that the number of revolutions is low compared to a given timeframe it throws the code. Indeed observing the amount of water coming into the ‘brake ‘ is night and day difference between old and new valve. All fixed.
Long story: cleaned out the filth, punched a tiny hole in the filter in the process, started it up and worked for 3 or so washes. Now same "over level water error" came up? (From checking out the tiny hole, it looks fine.) So are we doomed to call Samsung to come out or do you have any thoughts? (We did purchase a new filter which we could install but we are not sure that would be the answer.)
Seldom do you find a video like this that cuts straight to the point and works so well on the first try. Thank you for posting this!
This was EXACTLY what I needed!!!! After an all day online search and trying multiple options, this is the one that finally worked! THANK YOU!!!
Thank you so much for this video! Worked like a charm! Was beginning to lose hope on my dishwasher
I gotta do this about once a yeR

This worked perfectly! Thank you!
Also, thank you for creating a 2.5 minute video instead of having to watch 10-15 minutes :D
Thanks, worked on my Samsung dishwasher DW80J3020US with Auto Heavy flashing lights.

Thanks for posting this! Hopefully it helps my situation. My wife really liked the psh psh sound effects.
Very helpful! Thanks for posting. It saved us lots of money instead of hiring a repairman or buying a new dishwasher.

What did you do not using compressed air? Since I don't have a compressor.
This worked flawlessly. I cannot thank you enough for the video. Great work.

Perfect video and straight to the point. Up and running again. Thanks!
Thanks for posting this video. I was able to fix my Samsung DMT400RHS/XAA dishwasher.....
That was it! Thanks so much for making this video. Compressed air ftw!

Work on my dishwasher, thank you so much!
Thank you very much for this post. It worked like a wookie chew!
Thanks, it worked great for me after having the same error!
Thank you! Problem resolved 😃
Thank you. This fix helped us too.
Thanks! This seemed to do the trick!
I am following this now and have a good idea that it will work Thanks!
Thank you. This fix works perfectly. Wife is now mad cause she wanted a new dishwasher...Ha Ha
Thank you worked!!!!
Thank you!
Thanks solved the problems
Saves my ass! Thanks so much. I hate this dishwasher so much
Thanks
Thanx, this worked for me. Blew it out with my mouth!
I've had to do this twice so far. The dishwasher is maybe close to 10 years old and this is an easy fix. I cant really gripe about it.
Sooo, what turned out to be the issue? What was blocking the drain hose?
Food
did you have lights that were blinking? If so which ones.
I did but I don't recall which light was blinking. I checked the owner's manual to see what it meant. I made this video a long time ago.

what model is this ? i have samsung dishwasher and it has auto and heavy lights flashing.
If you pause the video at 15 seconds the paper has the model number and what not on it, dw 7933.........

No idea. Wish I could be more helpful.
Is this for “heavy & smart auto” flashing lights?
Yes it is
Don't understand how you fixed it? Blew out air?
Yes with my air compressor. Some folks have commented that they used their mouth though.
