Good info, unfortunately the part is quite expensive, but at least now I can rest easy that I am not throwing money away by not fixing this and getting a new machine instead.
Would this inlet housing also affect my dishwasher if it is not draining? I've already checked the filters and hoses. Only this plastic box looks hunky. And I'm trying to figure out if the float in it is stuck. thought I would try removing it like you have and rinse in out?
i used a screw driver to rotate it by hooking it from. one side and passing through the 'vents' all the way to other side then use it as lever to unscrew.
