    READ THIS BEFORE FOLLOWING THE LEAD OF THIS VIDEO.
    I'm really glad I saw this, so I knew what NOT to do. Turning the unit upside down will turn this into an HOURS long solution instead of MINUTES. As soon as you invert the machine, all of the water that has collected in the base will now be all over every piece of hardware, where no water was before you made the problem 10x worse.
    I tipped the washer toward its side (maybe 25degrees) so that I could access the door. Tipping it caused all the standing water to drain out of the moister sensor trap... it was probably 2 cups worth that I was happy to have on my kitchen floor, instead of all up inside the machine (which causes risk of re-tripping the moisture sensor when you right-side-up the unit and water drips down with gravity). No hours of fan drying necessary.
    Tip it, un-screw the closure, pop off the cover, and then disconnect the sensor. Once removed, dry the cover and the trap with a towel. Dry the sensor with a towel too, and then a hair dryer.
    Reinstall the sensor, and then the dry cover, and you are DONE in 15 min. No reprogramming necessary. The machine knows its fixed. Easy as can be, and back in business in less than an hour.

    Thanks to your great video I have just fixed the LE (leakage error). I have caused LE error myself by not carefully disconnecting the hoses and flooding the bottom part of my Samsung DMT800RHS dishwasher while fixing the original 9E (water supply) issue, which I was able to fix as well. The dishwasher seems to be working again. Happy fixing everyone.

    Thanks for the video. I did this about 8 mon. ago thinking I needed to replace something major. The little bowl built into the white, bottom plate was full of some dried out crud. I cleaned the electrodes and the bowl and the washer worked like a champ. The machine threw the LE code again. I could not remember how I took the machine apart to access that bottom plate. I had no desire to turn the machine upside down. I just leaned it against a chair to access the bottom plate. Same fix as last time. The machine is running as I type this not. Thanks again for posting the fix. It saved me a lot of time and effort.

    Excellent - Thank you. This worked perfectly and yes, like one of the commenters, a full flip caused more water to go where there was already water. Being not nearly as patient as you, I let my leaf blower help with the water removal. Also found that removing the two side panels helped.

    I have worked on appliances for a long time. None of the videos are the solution. This moisture sensor is in place for a reason. If there is water in this area, there is obviously a leak. This feature is exceptional for any manufacturer to place in the machine. It indicates a sealing failure of the water containment vessel. Either the pump shaft seal is leaking, the tub seal is leaking, or a hose is leaking. The only way to find it is to raise the unit so that you can observe where the leak is coming from while it has water in it and it is running. Once a visual of the leak is found, only then can you "permanently" fix the issue.

    I have a very similar model. It recently introduced me to the LE error code. It has had its issues since we got it, interior rack degrading, clips and clamps breaking, coming apart, several spots (the corners) with poor rinsing. No better than a unit from the 70's, really! But it has been an especially frustrating few week or so, and thanks for your video, very helpful! And, nothing like a little bit of hope to keep you working on something! Initially there was leakage from a split in the drain hose a few feet away from the dishwasher. First clue was drain water pouring down through the floor into the basement on top of the power box. I know, terrible dishwasher placement! It came with the house :( The leak had run back down the hose into the dishwasher, collected in the tray at the bottom, and triggered the LEak error and initiated the flood protocol that sends the dishwasher into "empty it out" mode, hence the sudden deluge. Examination of the hose revealed that the hose had cracks all along it. The connector was degraded and no longer functional at either end. I replaced the hose with some clear vinyl hose and clamps which seemed to do the trick after I dried out the tray and flood sensor. But after two wash cycles the error recurred. As it turned out the other similar hoses and connectors inside were equally degraded and had failed. It was a lot trickier to replace those, I tell ya! All went well for a couple of days, during which I learned that although the clear vinyl seemed rigid yet flexible enough, it tended to kink anywhere there was a loop, and while it did not block flow entirely it was still restricted. I changed the hose for some reinforced clear vinyl, added a couple of elbows at key loop points and it works like a charm. Except I had yet another flood and LEak error! After a lot of poking and examining and finally using a dental mirror I discovered that my probably over-tightened hose clamp had caused the plastic output pipe from the main housing to crimp a bit, crack, and it was leaking during certain points in the wash cycle. That is not a fixable thing, unfortunately, but I have enough pipe above the crimp/crack to extend some closer-fitting hose or fixture with a sleeve insert to act as an internal stabilizer. I anticipate completing the last fix over the weekend. I think in the future it will be worth my while to simply get a new dishwasher! The time invested alone has been outrageous! Anyways, thanks for sharing your experience, it was a real help. Cheers!

    • @tylercampbell7140
      @tylercampbell7140 8 лет назад

      +seaducked duck I fixed all the leaks, actually salvaged the output pipe with a nifty connector that used an insert that fit perfectly, replaced all the hoses, put in new connectors, new clamps, even a couple of new seals - I made it better, I think, than the original! - only to have two of the housings develop new leaks (water pump, and the drain loop/maze on the outside developed a crack along a seam). I gave up. The cost of the parts I used could nearly have purchased a new low-end dishwasher! I bought a new one, different brand, and the warranty covers pretty much everything that went wrong with the Samsung. So no doubt nothing will ever go wrong, right? Lol! Can only hope! At least I know my way around a dishwasher now, thanks to some of these great DIY videos!

    Worked for me. Another video on RUclips suggested that I clear all the water out of the sump and that should clear the code. I tried that first, which was a little easier than disconnecting everything and turning the machine upside down. It worked briefly, but then the code came back. I think the issue of turning the machine upside down is more about draining all the water out of the sump, than drying out the components under the machine. Nonetheless, I'm up and working again. Thanks. To be honest, this sure feels like a significant design flaw from Samsung.

    Important to make sure you've identified the cause of the leak. The error code is tripped when water collects in the white tray on the bottom of the washer. As another commenter mentioned, you only have to tip the washer on its side to access it and dry out the tray and the sensor attached to it. The water that collects there can come from a variety of places, but the most likely culprit is the auxiliary drain cap on the inside wall of the dishwasher. It twists on to form a seal against a rubber washer on the other side and can come loose. If yours is loose, that's where the water was coming from. If not, you should check all the drain hoses, which will require the removal of the side panel.

    If your sink is filling with water as the dishwasher drains, and there is no residual food in the grinding chamber of the disposal, you have a clogged drain line in the wall. With these particular Samsung dishwashers (which are junk), it could be coming from either the drain pump, water inlet valve, or main pump/motor seal. It has nothing to do with water backing up into the sink. Another culprit could be a rodent chewing through the corrugated plastic drain hose.

    I had this problem twice and fixed it without turning the dishwasher over. Mine was caused by the plastic cap, inside the washer, coming undone and allowing water to leak through the side and down to the drain pan. I pulled the dishwasher out and looked through the right side (while facing the dishwasher). I could see the pan with about 1/2 centimeter of water. I just pushed paper towels through and soaked it up. That fixed the problem for me.

    I had an LE error after fixing an E9 error. I believe some excess water went into the retaining pan during the initial repair. The drain pump would run without the units power being on. I took the two screws off the bottom and disconnected the electric clip. After that I air dried the unit for 24 hours, there was no sign of water. I reconnected electric clip and the retain pan and the LE error went away.

    I used this on a new Samsung Dishwasher. Turned it on the side after pulling it out enough to clear the cabinet. Unplug it first. One phillips head screw and the panel popped off. There is a sensor in the bottom which has two electrodes and keeps the pump going. Dry out this panel and it will stop the LC Code.

    I had the same code. Mine looked like it was leaking through the motor shaft. I bought the extended warranty for this thing and I was two months past that so I was on my own. I ordered a new seal online it was a fairly straightforward procedure to fix it I put the new one in and it continue to leak. Since it was a $10 part I thought it might be a defective seal so I ordered another one with the exact same results. This was one of the many problems I've had with this dishwasher. I read a lot of other bad reviews online now, but four years ago when I bought it it was the greatest thing since sliced bread I'm so disappointed with this thing it's such a piece of junk. Samsung sucks!!!
