A different way to use mica powders in resin

I am a resin artist with a few years experience and wanted to share what I have learned in that time.
I hope to inspire both beginners and more experienced creators.
Showing you guys my own unique technique for 'painting', using mica powder.
Alcohol evaporates and any alcohol above 75% should be perfectly fine to mix with mica powder.
The unicorn resin mould was purchased from 'Wish' but it is available in many other places. I chose this mould because of its intricate details, with flowers, but this technique can be used on any mould.
The mould needs to be kept still after the alcohol has evaporated as the powder will then be very fragile. Try not to move the mould too much and clean any moved powder before pouring resin.
Questions and comments are always welcome.

I love your video's. I've been a tattoo artist for twenty years, painted murals and pictures for most of my life. Just started playing with resins and your videos have given me major help on what I wanted to do. One thing, I see you use Rubbing Alcohol, I work in electronics as a full time job and we use Isopropyl Alcohol because it has less water added to it and dries faster and cleaner.

Thank you for this video! Not long ago I 'painted' a mold with mica powders. I thought the outcome would be as brilliant a color as the powders. Unfortunately, once I unmolded the item, the mica powders were actually very light. I was disappointed to say the least. That is absolutely inspired! As soon as I take the lid off a pot of mica it seems to be everywhere! There are no defined lines when you paint into a larger space (or smaller) so this is going to help massively. Thanks so much. I’ve subscribed!
If you’re looking for ideas what to do a video on, could I make a suggestion please? I would like to master top coating an ornament. I can do flat areas without a problem but my curved surfaces always have that orange peel dimpling effect where the resin pools. I’ve tried thin coats, thick coats, fresh resin, sanded fresh resin, sanded cured resin, using my gloved finger, a brush, thick resin, thin resin....everything! Please help someone!

Hi There, sorry I haven't responded to this comment as for some reason it got withheld. But thank you so much for the suggestion. I must admit, I hate top coating non flat surfaces as well. I can't say its something I am good at either, so at the moment I will not do an instruction video on it as I am not worthy.
I will try and improve my skills and hope I can come up with something in the future though. Wendy

This works on glass and pretty much everything else, too. You just have to seal in the mica, because once the alcohol evaporates, it'll come off easily.
