All beautiful Michelle, my order of preference is Blue/clear/white/Black, i love the translucent in the Blue, thats my favourite today, and thank you for showing the different contrast's
Great video! Definitely a big difference between mica and chameleon powders. Like you said, maybe it would be okay if you add a dome or top coat but I think because the chameleon powders have such a color shift and micas don't it will really factor in depending on what you're making. Also, if you are making something in a holographic mold you can't top coat those so micas would surely not be good for those. Thanks for doing this experiment Michelle. So helpful for everyone.
I love the idea of painting the bottom like that! I saw you do that the other day and was anxious to try it! I don’t think I’ve seen anyone else do that for the purpose of having a solid, clean, & finished back. Thank you.
A Christmas or Winter decal or cabochon on it. Hang with curled wire snd bells? And silver around the perimeter would look nice. The white is my favourite! 😊
Thank you so much! An idea for them..perhaps add a snowflake decal to the front and slight sparkly top coat for a tree decoration and a glitter backing. ☺️💐
I'm so glad you're doing this because I've been in a few heated discussions about this "must be black" backing issue.....thank you so much for the proof. (that I'm right LOL) Question though, what if you used a black transparent, like a black alcohol ink, instead of black pigment??? (yeah, not shiny cuz micas don't get shiny) I'm partial to translucents myself. I like the white backing the best - that blue mica with the white is the best to me on this one. Actually, when you hold them altogether, the black backed one is ....... how do you say ugly nicely?
Thanks for doing this experiment. I filled a holographic mold with regular mica. You hardly see the holographic in it at all, and very dull. Now I have a better idea of how to get different looks with the mica. 👍🤗
I was thinking the darker backgrounds were best to use for chrome/chameleon powders…? Idk I’m too new and haven’t tried too many yet…😊❤ LOVE YOUR INPUT AND VIDEOS! You have quickly become my like go-to for ideas! Always cheerful and helpful! TY! ☺️💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
When you paint with mica, it creates a more matte effect. Even chameleon arent quite as shiny. If you paint with chameleon and top coat - you will see a HUGE difference also.
Your right! I wanted to make sure the new people to resin were aware of the difference, no one taught me I had to learn the hard way and I hate to waste resin! 😊 thanks for watching!
This is really useful. Thanks so much, you've saved us all doing the same experiment :)
Generous of you to give us your time and supplies for these things❤
Great demonstration, really appreciate the examples. Thanks for showing!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you so much for this video, I was under the assumption that you had to use black resin. Thanks for clearing that up
I’m new to resin and yes I did learn something. Thank you!!

Your welcome 🤗
Yes you can tell with regular mica the black doesn’t make it pop like the chameleon powder, thanks for sharing the knowledge 👍❤️
Anytime 😊
A Christmas or Winter decal or cabochon on it. Hang with curled wire snd bells? And silver around the perimeter would look nice.
The white is my favourite! 😊
Very interesting. I never thought of the colors that way. You are such a big help to us all so we know the important things! Thank you!!
You are so welcome!🤗
Wow !!! Thank you. 👍😻👍
This is exactly what I wanted to know, thanks for making a quick video about it!
Glad it was helpful!😃
Thanks for the tutorial. ❤
Very strang how differently they turned out. Very helpful. Sea creature on them would be fun for key chains.
maybe try a syringe to fix overflows Julie on Pouring your heart out uses them sometimes
Thank you so much! An idea for them..perhaps add a snowflake decal to the front and slight sparkly top coat for a tree decoration and a glitter backing. ☺️💐
Great idea!

Good question! I may have to test that! Thanks for watching! I’ve been asked to prove it as well so I did lol
@@glitznglitterbymichelle1 and proving it you have done very well, thank you so much! 👍
Thank you for sharing the ins and outs of resin. Great video. Have a great day. Try and Stay dry today lol 😊

Thanks i was wondering how it would do in a Holographic mold!
Small Christmas ornaments?
Mobile. Chime. Key rings. They look like bubbles. Totally different blues.

Thank you! ☺️
Now I know
Absolutely awesome results I like them all weirdly lol and u called do Christmas keyring x😊
What about using the same mica powder to mix in with the resin as you brush on? Would you get a "deeper" colour?
Hmmm I’m not sure!
You could add a tattoo and then dome them that would solve both problems. Shiny and cute. Then, make into key fobs (not sure how to spell it)
Great idea thanks!
Save them for Christmas tree decs
Maybe the mold isn't a shiny one, you could stick a snowflake sticker on them and top coat for Christmas decorations ❤
The mold was shiny, anytime I’ve done this with any regular mica this is my result unfortunately. You can top coat it to get shine back.
Thank you
Was your mold a shiny surface too?
Yes it was shiny 😊
I would love to see it with a top coat

Here’s a great example with the top coat
Would love to see the difference if they were top coated!?! ♥️♥️🇦🇺
Ahhh I should’ve done that!! 🤦♀️🤦♀️
😊
I mix mica into the resin
