Lovely, clear, thorough stitch tutorial! It looked as though you work your first row into the back bumps (loops) of your starting chain. That leaves the bottom edge with two lovely loops... neat enough to leave as is, or easy to use for edging. I like to practice new stitches or stitch patterns in dish cloths. The finished piece is big enough to see how I like the design, texture, feel of the stitch, plus my daughter gets new dish cloths on a regular basis. This looks like a lovely texture.
