Hello.I going in Carpathian mountains with Wild Country Coshee 1.Good tent. But one pole last year was broken.I take this tent in 2016.I writing in England but me answer that cant help me.😔I think that this very bad...
This tents minimal mesh and the built in heavy duty floor and its ease of set up is a winner in my book I ve tested it on many occasions. I pack just the inner tent on cold rainless nights and it becomes quite lightweight without the outer rainfly. The minimal mesh keeps it warm. In high winds you can really tighten this baby up because of the tunnel. Just throw away all the sacks and replace pegs like Summit or Nothing wisely suggests and you re a happy trekker.
I’ve got a Vango Soul 300, used it on Lochnagar and Windy Gyle in the Cheviots kept me dry and was hit by about a 30 mph gales had no issues with it, plenty of space for me loved it.
Great video, i've had my Soul 100 for about 2 years now. Heavy wind & rain its great because its so low to the ground. The poles break easily but i'm so impressed with it, but with more motorbike gear needed on my trips i'm going to upgrade. Fed up of rolling over onto my motorbike boots every evening. Keep up the nice work, very detailed
I dont think easily breaking poles sound that impressive lol. but thanks for the feedback - not been much love for this tent so far so good to hear some. Thanks for watching!
@@SummitOrNothing Ah yes that was not quite right. i've just picked up a OEX Jackal II now anyways. Only because with the motorbike trips I need more space, but the Soul 100 will certainly still come with me for short get away trips
Hi Trev. Pros - Cheap. Cons - Condensation is a problem in the NYX 200 so I suspect that it’ll be the same with this. After a shower, open the front door and the sleeping area gets wet. Inner pitch first. No vestibule to speak of. No sitting headroom. It has nothing to do with gear snobbery, but what’s practical. For the price of buying this and finding out it’s the wrong tent and then buying another “cheap” tent, You could have something more suitable. (I know you have loads of tents already.) Quite honestly, if folks did their research and listened and learned from others then they’d not make the mistake of buying cheap and buying twice. I think you came to the right conclusion with this one.
Yea - you're quite right there, Graham - this is certainly a flawed and unimpressive little tent - and I don't think those poles would be up to much at all, either. The kids enjoyed it though - so may just be their garden tent from now on!
Trev, a lot of kit snobs out there. A lot of skint folks too. Nice balanced review and if it gets somebody new out one one of your walks then job done!
Yea, there is. I wanted to see this one up close. Will get it out in some kind of weather at some point, but will make sure I am parked relatively close to the car lol. Thanks for watching!
Kit snobs...been on the hill since the 60's, there were gear snobs then too. I liked the phrase, "It's good enough for me." Good for you and a spot on vid Mr. Wallace. McIntyre
Once again as usual a great review, think you do a great service for the budget camper! I like Vango, have numerous old and new Vangos and all still survive to this day, one is over 20 years old and still my favourite tent. I guess this “fair weather” tent does the job as a budget tent. But as an adventure training instructor, I’ve always said, like you Trev, get that outer skin tight. I’ve never liked tents that build from inner first which is why I call it a fair weather tent. Anyway great review mate always fair info from You nice one!
Yea - your'e spot on there, john - its always beneficial to be able to set up the outer skin first - especially in damp old blighty lol. Thanks for watching!
Hey trev, I’ve just started out my wild camping and this is my first tent 😆 after watching you and metal man do easedale tarn in one of your vids I decided to take a mate up and camp there. Am like you 5.11 ish and just about fit in but was cosy. Had both my poles brake before even going out, just trying it in my garden they broke. I bought another set and they came in time for my camp. Love your vids and they make me wanna get out. Done my first now so plenty more to come
Summit Or Nothing my first tent (back a good 20-25 years now) had those fiberglass poles with the fiberglass connectors between poles, and quite quickly those connectors would start to split (mainly operator error, I assume - trying to fold them when the pole segments weren’t *quite* out of the sleeves, that sort of thing). Fiberglass with aluminum connector sleeves is already a lot more durable.
I went out in this tent a few times last summer and camped one night in late october. It held up in 60 mph winds! (Just!, I did have to replace one tent pole section) crappy fibreglass things. Overall a warm if not cramped night sleep. However, I wouldn't recommend pitching it in wild weather. Cost me £30 on ebay and had some good fun using it! I will keep it but have upgraded for the spring already!
Bought a Soul 200 for a three day trip in good weather last summer found it easy to pitch & roomy. Good value...not sure of it's bad weather capabilities ..did a good job tho'...
I'm using the Vango soul 200, used it since 2016, camped at black tor on Dartmoor in it, it never let rain in, only problem in 6 years is one section of the pole broke, I bought a replacement, going to upgrade soon to the helm 2
I think the two guide lines by the door need to be angled out to the side more. All your tent reviews are done in beautiful weather. Don't you know that sometimes when you go camping it will rain? I know it happened to me once back in 1995. Maybe you should try taking some of these tents out when it's not so perfect.
Vango’s response to the cloud up 1 and 2 .... but with less room and heavier ... two things not to like! There I said it for you Trev ... Nice review though thanks👍👍
Good honest review mate, at the end there I think you said phoxx 1, I take it you meant 2?? My boy has the phoxx one and it’s more like a bivvy bag than a tent! 😂 thanks for sharing buddy 🏕
Used the vango soul 200 all over, motorcyle camping, iom tt,isle of skye, scarbados.replaced the poles for stronger ones, but cheap as chips and very decent.
Amazing video thank you I found this tent today on amazon and I wasn't sure about it I'm going camping in 3 weeks only for 4 days I have a vango tay 300 tent think it's a 3 man tent or something. But wanted something smaller as I'd be In the tent alone. Great video definitely going to buy this tent now 😊
I have been using a Vango Ark 300+ fantastic - but have just purchased the Soul (lighter) for a trip via bus for a weekend and minimal kit (not arrived yet). It does look claustrophobic but I may use the Vango Adventure Tarp with it that I usually use with the Ark, and it is not very heavy to carry either, otherwise I could use the NESO beach shelter as porch or to cook beneath whichever one is lighter. It is useful also when I use the Ark I could use the Soul as an addition to store kit overnight like folding chairs, cushions etc ............
I have a vango soul 200, the 2-person version. I'd describe it more as a large 1-man tent as it gives enough for one normal-sized man and his stuff, or 2 smaller men/average sized women and no stuff. The porch fits no more than a pair of boots and the front part can be a bit of a pain to get set-up properly, so it's not sagging, especially on uneven ground. Once you get the knack of it, however, it is overall a really good tent. I use it a lot for wild camping up hills and in forests when I fancy a change from the hammock or there are no trees. For the money its really good value, but I'd go 200 over 100 for the extra space.
Hi there. Great video, I think you really nailed it with your review. I thought about buying the Soul tent but I'm glad I decided against it. Went for the OEX Phoxx 2 instead, a much better choice!
Honest review thanks. I recon the two front guys might be better pitched inline with the front pole? side on. BUT if they do... what holds the front forward? I just checked the online price and to be fair it's pretty good for what it is
The way that the material was sown to the front guy lines suggested it wanted to go forward and to the side, but something was askew with the set up. It was a good price, but those poles didn't feel as if they were going to be man enough for the job. Cheers for watching!
I got the Soul 200 as I was worried about the lack of space and where to put my bag with the 100 or the phoxx 1. I actually really like it as I can sit up in the door end
Thanks for the video! Actually always wondered what they were like.still crazy happy with the DD super light pyramid xl. Really good tent with loads of space.
Summit Or Nothing I agree. I was watching thinking that the materials and layout didn’t look brilliant. Not sure “for the money” applies because it’s still £40-50.
All camp stuff seems to arrive in plastic bags under £100. Yep outer to inner would be better, not everyone lives in Australia or California- we get rain! I would design tents to be erected in a wind tunnel with shower on, to get a normal environment to most campers. How's the 7 minutes erection going?
I just got the soul 300 for a weekend trip with a friend for £40 on sale, definitely not too sure about those poles, but should do us good for a summer camp!
Nice review mate. I was considering this as my first tent but managed to get a brand new vango helix 200 for 50 quid from a guy on Ebay. Looking at the limitations of that soul I'm glad i shopped around now.
Trev mate I’ve got a soul 200 but it seems a lot better quality than that 100... I camped in minus conditions in it and was fine.. pitched correctly it was well waterproof and was quite snug! I might do my next vid in it just for ha ha’s there fine mate although the 100 looks a little tichy.. great vid!
I literally just bought the 200. Now I'm watching this and wondering if I ought to cancel the order! Was expecting the quality of my original Blade 100, but this looks pretty terrible by comparison.
@@edcrosshair I wish I had. GoOutdoors just took my money, cancelled the order because "nO sToCK, sOrrY..." (Still listed tho 🙄) and kept the postage! I'm gonna go for a Cairngorm 300 I think. More space for not too much more weight.
The special pegs for the porch so you don’t fricking bark your toes on them (or at least not as painfully) whenever you have the door open are about the only good idea I see in this tent. Not a fan of the tie down attachments of the fly to the poles, not a fan of sleeves, not a fan of fiberglass poles, not a fan of required inner-first. That said I’m sure it could be pitched a bit better than that (I think you pulled out the sides of the fly too much and that’s why the huge sag in the middle?), and also any tent I’d want to bother carrying around would be a bit more expensive.
I used to have a Vango 2 man tent but I found the poles were brittle and split easily after a number of times. Bought myself a two man Eurohike DLX backcamper tent for around £40 on Amazon. Love the idea that you put the flysheet up first. Not sure if I could sleep in a one man tent. Looks a bit claustrophobic.
Yes this felt especially tight, the Vik 1 I slept in the other night didn't seem quite as small, and the poles on this didn't feel very reliable at all.
Ive just baught the highlander blackthorn xl for my first wild camping tent. Has any one had any experience with this tent? ( I was going to get the phoxx 1 but I'm 6ft2 so a bit to tall for it I think).
I did the same. I like that I could use the inner net with a tarp instead of the fly. I’ve also swapped the crappy pegs for lighter aluminium ones. I’ll probably get better poles at some point too. Blooming cheap tent. 👍🏼
@@SummitOrNothing im not sure if it's much bigger than the phoxx but I had lots of room in it. I camped out on Kings tor last night and it was great in the wind and rain. My only fault is the zip doesn't seem to be the best.
I never been camping and never pitched up a tent before. Bought this tent for a forthcoming trip to Cornwall. Hotels are just too expensive. Watched this vid a few times and still know as much as before. Is there a version for dummies?
@@jamielittlewood7103 True, but at least when you get to your evening destination the tent will be in the shape it's supposed to be in and not flat on your face after the poles have snapped for the forth time lol. I must admit that 900 gram difference can be noticeable initially until you start consuming your food and water...
Bought a vango soul 300 for my daughter and her friend. Absolutely crap.... ripped already ... somehow.... repair kit just a patch with no means of applying it. There’s a reason it’s only £50 😂 Is it me or are Vango going cheap. My old banshee 200 is still mint and had it a few years now Top channel .... cheers Kev n Nath
Yea i think they are going down hill. Looked at the newer banshees in Go Outdoors the other day and the material was far cheaper feeling quality. Good job Naturehike can deliver quality lightweight alternative at affordable prices.
I'm I vango fan but I think I'd struggle in trusting this tent. I think for not much more you can get the Phoxx1, the Vango Blade or my choice the Vango Nevis 100 which pitches outer first or all at once. Or for longjevoerty get a Banshee. Great video Trev. Thanks again
Honestly then Trev. How long did the little uns last in the tent before they got bored and wanted to come indoors. Used to be til it got to dusk with mine.
At half eleven they were fighting and screaming over space. At half twelve they were having a noisy midnight bounce., By one am they wanted their own beds!
It should have an extra long guy line to wrap around your garden fence so it never leaves the garden 🤣, it's a kid's tent for the garden and that's it, but if you are feeling brave Trev, run a pole to see who wants to see this on a bad weather wild camp on Dartmore 🙈 go on mate i dare you 😂😂😂 keep up the good work buddy 👍
Yea - I've got an idea for liberating some of them lol... also I like to keep a handful handy for loaning to friends like Stan (whose real name is James) when he comes out with me. Will probably do another raffle for charity at some point down the line too. Cheers for watching!
I have the 2 person version only difference is there are tension straps inside to helps you adjust it really helps. Lots and lots of pockets all along the inside. I replaced my pegs too and no clue what that weird one does got more than one, though. Either way, it looks class this one just needed more space as ya said ur backpack.
@@SummitOrNothing I'm pretty sure I have seen the weird pin pegs used on family size tents, but for the ground sheets only. On this tent they are as stated probably used to avoid trips
This could have been awesome as I like the look of it but the pack down size is pretty big, and pitching the inner first is a deal breaker, especially tying the outer onto the inner seems like a faff
It all seemed liek a faff. i know that the Phoxx 2 also had to put the inner up first, but that felt a lot more sturdy, and held its shape easily. This thing looked twisted, wasn't very taught and those poles felt like they would give up the ghost in the slightest bit of wind.
I'm doing this for you guys... honest lol. I was intregued with this tent, being Vango and at such alow price, I had to have a look... unlike the Phoxx 2 - I wasn't that impressed to be honest!
Great review - honest and sincere as usual - but not such a good tent. Fibre glass poles are notorious for breaking and splintering. I agree with George Post - the two guide lines by the door need to be angled out to the side more and to the front less. Cheers. Ken
Looks a good starter tent Trevor. I bought an NZ made Intent Outdoors ACE 1 one person tent a month ago. Very good indeed. Trevor, have a look and please tell me what you think. Go well, bro!
I ain't no tent snob but carefull with that one trev. The poles failed on me and they splinter when they go There's no fixing em either. The kids look like they like it so 👍👍 all good.
Good review Trev. Pitching looked to be a bit fiddly. We picked up a Vango Sigma 300 earlier this year for £64 (SummitsOnline.co.uk). Several garden camps so far and it's a beaut. The way the inner and outer connect is neater and easier than the Soul by the looks of it.
My first tent was a Soul 300. Its not a bad fair weather tent but any kind of wind about 20 will flatten it. The poles are very week too unfortunately and the guide ropes at the front need to be pegged out wider than you have them mate thats why it looks a bit wrong and bent at the top.
Very cheap but I would say spend a bit more. You will improve the quality and space. I would not like to be stuck in this for a night of really bad wind and rain.
Yea, Philip - I had hoped that this little tent would be a good buy for the price, much like the Phoxx 2 which I thought was an impressive and sturdy little tent for the same price. I wouldn't have much faith in this tent in anything over a breath of wind.
I think the vango banshee 200 pro is much superior than this tent. And not much more weight. I would rather save up a bit more and go for the vango. You can cook in the vestibule. I have used a hiking pole with a a of para cord using a clove hitch and tensioning knot and pegged out to lift the porch up when it is raining. So I can look out. The fibre glass poles will snap which I found on my big vango tent . Comparison the banshee wins which I have tested in dartmoor near 2 bridges. Tested the naturehike cloud peak 2 in the rain with strong winds. Just the doors are a pain getting in and out. Which you open from the top and carefully keep the fly from the inner because the water from the fly makes the inner wet . But on winds because of the geo. design. I got mine from amazon for £169 which was the cheapest at the time. 2.2 Kg. Will test it in the winter close to the car and the vango banshee pro 300 as a back up in dartmoor near 2 bridges. I was in the wind and rain Thursday evening under a tarp with a fire underneath and the nail organisation came out. Then I redid the guy and pegs and put heavy rocks on each of the pegs and put extra cordage on the side straps around the tree. . The.tarp was like a sale. But once I sorted it the tarp was fine. Kept looking over to the cloud peak 2. Then checked the tent guy points. They were fine. Just the guy ropes needed adjusting but it withstood the winds. And it had no leakage. Condensation from the ground was an issue initially when I put the tent up. Which was in the inner fly but the inner didn't get wet. Only from the door from getting in and out but that is my errot5not the tent. Sorry about the long rant. I put the extra thing about the cloud peak 2 because I know you have been looking at it.
Sounds like you have a good variety of shelters to use, Karl . Thanks for the feedback! I have been interested in seeing aCloud Peak, so valuable information, thanks!
This isn't a fair review. I used this tent during a storm on a recent weekend away with the boys and I was good for 72 hours. It's sturdy, quiet in strong winds and surprisingly waterproof.
@@SummitOrNothing definitely. That's the issue with paying for names sometimes. They have some great tents and some not so. Did you see my smokey hut mod? Great tent all in and less weight than that vango. ruclips.net/video/9V5dIfhKmI8/видео.html
I did, but I wanted to review this for the channel - giving people a view of the tent rather than just words. Theres bad reviews for a lot of the tents we have used, and many of them have been great.
Had this tent poles are rubbish kept breaking, so got new poles still broke, so sent back and got a Vango Blade 100 which was far superior to this tent
Do not buy this tent. The inner black mesh is so thick it condensates just like an outer layer, and the inner dimensions are so small, much smaller than indicated, that it's actually useless.
At that price, it's sure to be made in China. So why not buy a 3F UL or Asta direct from China on AliExpress for not much more money, and have a product that is bigger, lighter, and far better in terms of performance?
@@SummitOrNothing Vango is indeed a Scottish company (it's name is an anagram of Govan), but they have their tents made in China - same Chinese factory as Gelert and several other British tent-sellers.
Where dit you learn to set-up a tent? Dit you ever thing about brute force is not always the way to do a fragile thing..... it’s not a bungalow tent from a caravan... neither are the pecks. It’s a tiny tent to sleep in and protect you from the element...
But I wouldnt think it would stand up to much when compared to my other tents. The poles seem brittle, and apparently other viewers have said that there experience with this tent is that it is no good in wind either.
*I tested in a very windy/raining day, worked perfectly It is easy to set up and is constructed well! I definitely recommend this tent for everyone!*
Thanks Volkan, interesting to hear your thoughts !

Yea, I had seen these advertised a lot and felt I needed to investigate... Actually a little disappointing with this one. Cheers for watching!
Summit Or Nothing I agree. I was watching thinking that the materials and layout didn’t look brilliant. Not sure “for the money” applies because it’s still £40-50.
There was another tie for the hoop at the ‘feet’ end of the tent which I think you did not notice? Thanks
All camp stuff seems to arrive in plastic bags under £100. Yep outer to inner would be better, not everyone lives in Australia or California- we get rain! I would design tents to be erected in a wind tunnel with shower on, to get a normal environment to most campers. How's the 7 minutes erection going?
Haha! The 7 minute erection is only half the battle - its getting it to stay up that may present a problem lol.
I just got the soul 300 for a weekend trip with a friend for £40 on sale, definitely not too sure about those poles, but should do us good for a summer camp!
Yea, I don't have a lot of confidence in those poles, Lucy - hopefully should so you well for your trip. Thanks for watching!
Nice review mate. I was considering this as my first tent but managed to get a brand new vango helix 200 for 50 quid from a guy on Ebay. Looking at the limitations of that soul I'm glad i shopped around now.
Yea, I think you lucked out missing thiis one! Cheers for watching! Enjoy the helix!
Trev mate I’ve got a soul 200 but it seems a lot better quality than that 100... I camped in minus conditions in it and was fine.. pitched correctly it was well waterproof and was quite snug! I might do my next vid in it just for ha ha’s there fine mate although the 100 looks a little tichy.. great vid!
That may well be the case, someone else said that the 300 is better too. Thanks for the feedback.
I literally just bought the 200. Now I'm watching this and wondering if I ought to cancel the order! Was expecting the quality of my original Blade 100, but this looks pretty terrible by comparison.
James Foard I bought my soul about 5 years ago and the quality is the usual vango standard it’s still ready to rock when I need it...
James Foard get a banshee 200 or cairngorm 200 if you search you can get them for around a oner bro
I know exactly what you mean - soome valid points there sir. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Got a eurohike for my son, great ten t big for a two man tent too, bigger than my ban shee 200!
That looks very similar to the Phoxx - is it much bigger then? Let us know how you get on with it! Cheers!
Should have got the Coleman Darwin. Mine has taken quite a beating and still holding strong. Best £45 I have spent in recent years...
I have yet to look at some Coleman tents - I have seen that they are quite reasonably priced... will check one out! Cheers for the comment!
Reasonably priced but comparatively heavy if you were planning a multi-day hike
@@jamielittlewood7103 True, but at least when you get to your evening destination the tent will be in the shape it's supposed to be in and not flat on your face after the poles have snapped for the forth time lol. I must admit that 900 gram difference can be noticeable initially until you start consuming your food and water...
Trev, that t shirt rocks.
There's a link in the vid description
I wonder if the guy lines come out to the sides or over the back instead of over thr front. Over the front it made the front look really saggy.
I just got one of these for free, it has a broken pole but I think it will be worth fixing.
Just bought today good video
Yeh yer right great kids tent ... cheers buddy cheers Chris & Sam
Haha ! Cheers guys!
Bought a vango soul 300 for my daughter and her friend.
Absolutely crap.... ripped already ... somehow.... repair kit just a patch with no means of applying it.
There’s a reason it’s only £50 😂
Is it me or are Vango going cheap.
My old banshee 200 is still mint and had it a few years now
Top channel .... cheers Kev n Nath
Yea i think they are going down hill. Looked at the newer banshees in Go Outdoors the other day and the material was far cheaper feeling quality. Good job Naturehike can deliver quality lightweight alternative at affordable prices.
That looks a "fussy" tent to setup but you're right for the price it does the job
Yea, fussy was the right word. I wouldn't put too much faith in it in any real weather though!
Yep - youre right there - I felt the same too, for a little extra there's a lot more choice that would be more reliable. Cheers for watching!
I may just have to do that one night, Ken. Test it to its limits.... Judging by the feel of those poles... Not much limit there to be honest.
@@SummitOrNothing I think you'd have more chance of surviving the night if you linked drinking straws through instead of those poles 🙈
Hi Trev... i really enjoy your tent reviews....maybe you could raffle them off afterwards to get some money back to buy more to review?
Yea - I've got an idea for liberating some of them lol... also I like to keep a handful handy for loaning to friends like Stan (whose real name is James) when he comes out with me. Will probably do another raffle for charity at some point down the line too. Cheers for watching!
Anyone know the pole diameter in case I wanted to replace them with aluminium?
I have the 2 person version only difference is there are tension straps inside to helps you adjust it really helps. Lots and lots of pockets all along the inside. I replaced my pegs too and no clue what that weird one does got more than one, though. Either way, it looks class this one just needed more space as ya said ur backpack.
Yea this was very tight inside. I wondered if the 200 would be any better. Thanks for your feedback. Cheers
I think the weird pegs at the front are so you don't trip over them when you get up in the night for a wee! Lol
@@CaverKaren That makes sense, thanks Karen.
@@SummitOrNothing I'm pretty sure I have seen the weird pin pegs used on family size tents, but for the ground sheets only. On this tent they are as stated probably used to avoid trips
I have the Vango soul 200 and haven't seen tension straps?
Great stuff and beautiful review
Thank you!
Summit Or Nothing that’s a shame as Vango are a decent name too but did look pretty messed up even after you had finished
Jeez trev, how many tents do you need😆looks too much grief to put up,I'll stick to my banshee 200,takes me 4 mins
Cheers. Ken
Yea, they felt crap to touch - wouldn't like to risk it in this tent in much of a wind... may make a good video though, Ken, eh?
Hey man, nice review. Have you tried it in heavy winter and at minus temperature?
Greetings from Hellas(Greece).
I havent even tried it out yet. Will hopefully to get a test in soon though
Trev I think that tent would take more than 7 minutes to set up. Doesn’t look to wind worthy. Thanks for the review
It was a bit of a fiddle I must admit. Didn't look straight either no matter how I tried to tweak it.
Thank you this video is so helpful :)
Hi Trev where do u live?
As you seem to do a lot of walking and camping in the south!👍

Looks a good starter tent Trevor.
I bought an NZ made Intent Outdoors ACE 1 one person tent a month ago. Very good indeed. Trevor, have a look and please tell me what you think.
Go well, bro!
That looks a dcent tent, John - I will add it to my ever increasing list of tents to test lol. Thanks for the heads up!
Thanks great review. Just what I thought (Banshee land here I come)
I ain't no tent snob but carefull with that one trev.
The poles failed on me and they splinter when they go
There's no fixing em either.
The kids look like they like it so 👍👍 all good.
I could tell handling them that the poles weren't up to much. They felt brittle. this'll be a kids playtent I reckon lol. Cheers for watching!
Ah they may have thrown a little more budget at the 300 then. This was a bit naff to be fair. Thanks for watching!
Looks like a tent for a young teen.. Ahh and a great fit it is for two youngsters...
Yea, its recommended for the ten tors etc... I wouldn't want to rely on it in the middle of the moors to be fair. Thanks for watching, Max!
Thanks
Will stick with the phox 2
Dont blame you, John!
My first tent was a Soul 300. Its not a bad fair weather tent but any kind of wind about 20 will flatten it. The poles are very week too unfortunately and the guide ropes at the front need to be pegged out wider than you have them mate thats why it looks a bit wrong and bent at the top.
Cheers for the feedback, Tom - I got the sense this was a bit of a flimsey old tent. Cheers for watching!
Thanks for sharing this. Not a tent for me (1 fatty and a dog!) 🤣 Not enough room. Does look like a coffin. Might be OK for doggo!
Very good explained and detailed as the instructions that come with the Vengo are not clear.
for 55 quid u cant go wrong cheers trev
I think the oex phoxx was a better tent, felt more stable and was around the same price. Seems to be unavailable at the moment though.
So waiting on those words from your son .... Dad I need a poo :-) lol
Hahah! Yea, inevitable lol
I have been interested in seeing aCloud Peak, so valuable information, thanks!
the kids are so cute
They have their moments lol
This isn't a fair review. I used this tent during a storm on a recent weekend away with the boys and I was good for 72 hours. It's sturdy, quiet in strong winds and surprisingly waterproof.
Not a great tent then that one? Can't see you enjoying a trip out in that! Great for the kids though 👍
I thought it may be better than it was to be honest seeing how it was Vango. The OEX phoxx 2 was far better for the money.
@@SummitOrNothing definitely. That's the issue with paying for names sometimes. They have some great tents and some not so. Did you see my smokey hut mod? Great tent all in and less weight than that vango.
ruclips.net/video/9V5dIfhKmI8/видео.html
Did you look at the online reviews before buying the tent
They already all say what you found out
I did, but I wanted to review this for the channel - giving people a view of the tent rather than just words. Theres bad reviews for a lot of the tents we have used, and many of them have been great.
Had this tent poles are rubbish kept breaking, so got new poles still broke, so sent back and got a Vango Blade 100 which was far superior to this tent
Yea, as soon as I handled those poles I could tell they weren't going to stand up to much. Thanks for watching!
@@SummitOrNothing the pole snapped first attempt to get in never had that with any tent pole before , love the Tie shirt I forgot to mention
Do not buy this tent.
The inner black mesh is so thick it condensates just like an outer layer, and the inner dimensions are so small, much smaller than indicated, that it's actually useless.
The tent looks pissed.
It did... I couldn't seem to get it to look any better no matter how much tweaking I did.
For that reason I'm out!
I don't blame you. Not the best budget tent out there.
At that price, it's sure to be made in China. So why not buy a 3F UL or Asta direct from China on AliExpress for not much more money, and have a product that is bigger, lighter, and far better in terms of performance?
Vango is actually manufacture in Scotland. And yeah, there are some great tents from china - I have reviewed a few of them already!
@@SummitOrNothing Vango is indeed a Scottish company (it's name is an anagram of Govan), but they have their tents made in China - same Chinese factory as Gelert and several other British tent-sellers.
Fibre glass poles are terrible at the best of times. That tent does look awful and very uncomfortable.
Yeah, it was a lot more disappointing than I thought it was going to be.
Ah, soul.
😂😂
lol
Where dit you learn to set-up a tent? Dit you ever thing about brute force is not always the way to do a fragile thing..... it’s not a bungalow tent from a caravan... neither are the pecks. It’s a tiny tent to sleep in and protect you from the element...
But I wouldnt think it would stand up to much when compared to my other tents. The poles seem brittle, and apparently other viewers have said that there experience with this tent is that it is no good in wind either.
On a shoe string budget. Ok 👌
I'd opt for the OEX Phoxx 2 over this... similar price, felt much sturdier., They just don't seem to be available at the moment.
Nope
Nope indeed!
@@SummitOrNothing Try and avoid the inner pitch, can see some younger campers struggling with that. 👍🏻
This is a tempest but bad
You may be right about that
If they come back in stock, the Yellowstone Matterhorn looks a better buy for similar money.
