Great review,,,Ive got the Pro 200 and its a great bit of kit, easy to pitch, although i have had to put some 3M Velcro between the inner and fly-sheet just where it sags around the head area.I think its a real good easy pitch tent, and the double doors are handy in case the wind changes, mines ready for the go with my Trangia cook set to throw on my BMW although my camps are a bit less extreme jut around the Derbyshire Dales.
Fantastic countryside around there and perfect for a bike camp 👍. Can't beat a bit of bike touring . I did the Australian East coast a long time ago on a Suzuki GSX SE 750. Was a great bike for touring 🙂

Mate that’s a rite good review pal, been uming and arghing for a while now on,getting a hammock set up for me and the wife, and then we talked about a tentsile flight but there expensive so I came accross the banshee and your review and it made my mind up,suit me to the ground that tent.do you use a footprint with the tent
Ahh good stuff Michael 👍. I dont use a footprint but I know a few do. Would definitely be handy in some conditions. They are a cracking little tent. Still no complaints about mine 👍. Still going strong 🙂
The best reason to use a footprint/groundsheet IMO is it's easier to clean, at least for me who has a flat and not a garden. I can give a groundsheet a good rinse in the shower but cleaning the bottom of a good-sized two man tent and then drying can be a bit of a bother. A groundsheet usually means all the tent needs is a bit of a wipe here and there.
The tent is .88 KG. So around 2lbs considering a lb is 455 grams i think. For solo i think this is ok. I would be taking this on a bike so .88kg is not to bad at all.
Yes definitely, I'm the same and I fit in with my dog and a 60ltr rucksack and kit in the side area or with me 👍. Not loads of room but enough 🙂. Good tent 🙂👍
Haha class lol 😆. Sat in my tent now in North Wales getting battered by the wind. Definitely be doing a tick check on myself in a bit too, hopefully don't find any of the little bastards 😉. Cheers 🙂👍
Lundy's Wildcamp/Bushcraft haha cheers Jimmy. Aye they must all be on the small side eh. Either that or were just used to sleeping in the open forest in hammocks and shelters with more open space around us 😁. Cheers Jimmy 🖒🖒
Aye definitely. I sometimes open both side doors and leave them tied back so that a breeze can blow through during the night when it's really warm . Great all round tent 🙂👍
Yeh probably. I was out in the mountains last week with two of us in the Banshee and ita a squeeze for sure. I havnt used the 3 person but that's what I'd be buying for two of us especially if I'm going to be using it in all weathers and need to have my rucksack and kit out of the elements too or have the possibility of being stuck in it for any time because of the weather etc 🙂👍
I've not used the Banshee 300 but I've got a number of Nevis 300 tents for my Duke of Edinburgh groups and I find the Banshee design is easier to set up and get a really good pitch
Cheers Thomas. It's an old sleeping bag, probably 27 years old so it's a bit big compared to the modern down bags but I still like using it sometimes. It's been a fantastic bit of kit. Not sure of the make but it's been a good un 🖒. Cheers fella
"plenty of room" but you can't sit up. That would be very annoying for me! Changing clothes, eating an drinking, packing your backpack or simply waiting out a 4 hour downpour... would all be very uncomfortable in that position. No thanks, I'll go with the Blade 200.

Cheers Robert mate, have a great week ahead 👍👍
A size ten leggy brunet with bit wotsits ..no chance mate I've been looking for one of them for 30 years..ended up with an umpalumpa 😂😎
Haha brilliant 😀 ya mad man lol 😀😀
Absolute quality tent,, never fails
Definitely Darren. Absolutely bomber 👌👍
This review has everything... informative, funny, dog steals it.... epic
Haha cheers 🙂. Just swinging in my hammock in the first at the moment with Billy on a wool blanket underneath me . Back in the Vango next weekend i reckon 👍. Cheers for watching and the cool comment Sean 👍
I have a 300 and im 6 5" it's a good size for me and the girl friend but would not share it with another lad unless you like getting cosey, the wind did knock it once and it bent the long pole but it still works fine.
Aye I'm just on my way back from a canoe trip in Scotland using my 200. Bit small with all the multi day canoe equipment but did the job great in some really wild weather. I used a tarp in conjunction for cooking under in the weather 🖒. Cheers for the cool comment ☺
Great tent i have the matching awning to extend living space
Aye I bet it's a good addition 👍
Great hill always gives a nice view. Should be nice and white now.
Oh aye it's a beautiful place 🙂👍
A have the banshee 300 totally agree with you on the size of them am 6ft4 the is me daughter 8 yrs old and a whippet cross all in there and a 110 bergen full kit it's tight mind must be using dwarfs at quality control were ever the made because the sizeing is all wrong for us ower here .
Liam & the wild child haha 😁 too right Liam; they are a squeeze. Good tents but the sizes are tight ain't they ☺. Bet you've had some great missions in yours with the young un and the whippet. 🖒
RickT Outdoor/Adventure lol lots of adventures buddy nowt better aye we've a ginger whippet cross lol a no ginger 😂 . But aye cracking wee tents . Get one a them tick pullers for wore Billy av one for ginge ( the dog not the bairn ) dirt cheap from vets mate .
Liam & the wild child haha aye I've got one in my other rucksack ( usual case ain't it) . I used to have a Bedlington whippet cross. He was a great dog 🖒
RickT Outdoor/Adventure ah a love a Bedlington stunning dogs we live not far from Bedlington as well lol.
Nice one Rick glad you said that just bought one
Haha quality Gary 👍. I like em me. I think they are great . Mines still going strong 🙂
Great review, from the other side of the Irish Sea!
Cheers Mick, just used it for 5 nights in Scotland and it did brilliantly lined up against a selection of expensive tents it performed faultlessly 🙂👍
Thank man, atb Rick n Billy
Great review Rick :) You can't beat Vango gear for the money. I think I have an old Micro 1 man in garage somewhere. Good job on getting that tick out mate. It would of been crawling on you in the night. Dirty sheep passing em around!! Have a great weekend mate, all the best, Mark. :)
Mark Bailey Aye cheers Mark they do make good gear for the price for sure 🖒. I like using it and always get a good night's kip in it ☺. Aye I've seen a good few ticks this year unfortunately and yeah there's plenty of sheep up on those moors. Cheers Mark you have a top weekend too, hope you've got a bit of free time🖒
I have still my old Vango Micro Odessey from thirty years ago...seen a lot of places
In lowlands my go to is always a Basha but for Welsh mountains and Dartmoor you cant go wrong with a Banshee
Yeh I love my Banshee too 👍. Really good tents. Cheers Jack
Definitely worth having a tick removal tool, make removing the little blighters easy
Aye definitely, miles easier. Have one in my first aid kit. Must have removed 10 from him this year. Seem to be getting more and more around this area 🤐. Cheers 🖒
Peppermint oil or burn it with lighter. It goes 😲 with heat and lets go.
Best review by FAR ! 🤣
Haha cheers Chris 🙂👍
I've an OEX Phoxx EV I and although i'm only 5ft7, it's just a bit too snug for me. Only slightly better than a Bivvy. I was looking at these Banshee 200's though and although a wee bit heavier it's not much and it's nice and comfortable for 1 person
Definitely, it's nice to have that little bit of space too with your pack and kit inside. Especially in inclement weather. I've been in my bivvi bag lately in the nice weather but due to give the tent a run out again soon. In fact I've got a couple of D of E assessments coming up , I'll use it then. Have a great summer's camping and adventuring 👍
@@RickTOutdoorAdventure1969 Thank you very much, you too!
how reviews should be. love this one. thinking of this tent too or the nevis.
Great tent Leon👍. When are you off up Ben Nevis fella ?
My Banshee has spent a few nights up there over the years 🙂
Cheers Leon
Atb Rick n Billy
@@RickTOutdoorAdventure1969 i meant the tent - vango nevis haha
@@Conny79 haha yeah I realised after I'd replied lol. A Vango Nevis on top of Ben Nevis would be cool though lol 😀😀. Should borrow Ants Banshee for a night n try it out 👍
Have a top weekend fella
Counter clockwise to get ticks out without getting infected.
Brilliant review cheers 👍
Cheers Ben 👍. Just used it for another 5 nights in the Lake District mountains. Great tent . Have a great day 👍
Only person I've seen that doesn't mess about putting it up
cosgrove notts Cheers 🖒. Aye they are pretty easy to put up ☺ Thanks for the comment too ☺
Looks a great place looking my first wild camp, is great hill Chorley area?
Yeh Karl, it's a wee bit wet up there at the moment but there's places to pitch. It's a cracking spot up there 🙂👍
@@RickTOutdoorAdventure1969 thanks i will head that way hopefully in Feb, is there any places to steer clear of up there and im hoping first trip not to stray to far from the car as im trying out most of my equipment
@karlc9773 nah, youre good anywhere. It's a popular spot, so can see a fair bit of footfall on the main paths but quietens down later in the evening 👍
@@RickTOutdoorAdventure1969 Im on the RT1200 so obviously limits my wild camp range 🤬but a bit of steak on the Trangia and a couple of cans in the top box = a good night,,Talking of which ,off down Longnor Fri night,,,,Stay safe mate.
@@r13gbs you too fella, have a top trip, enjoy the steak and beers 👍
Great quality video too even on a 42 inch TV
Great stuff, cheers 🙂👍
I’d like to do same with smaller dog, do you think the Banshee 300 would be better than 200 weight for weight? Nice video mate
I've never used the 300 but it could bd a better option. The Naturehike Cloudpeak 2 is a great option if you want something with more space yet lightish 🙂👍
Cheers, Rick n Billydog
Amazing. No sh!t. Want one for me and the dog. But some storage for my boots and bag. What mattress?
Aye they are good 👍. That's an old mountain equipment inflatable. It's been a good mat. Still going strong 🙂
Been to Blacks, go outdoors and millets. They’re all out of leggy brunettes with big knockers...any ideas? Quality.
Haha 😀. It was worth a try though lol 😀😀
Lovely dog... trying to get in out of that wind.
Aye cheers, hes a great dog 🙂. Fantastic adventure buddy 👍
your pup is adorable. great review
Ahh cheers, aye he's a great dog 🙂👍
Gorgeous sunset. Oh no. Ticks? We don't normally have them in Colorado. In all my years living on the east coast of the U.S. I never had a tick on me. I think they don't like my smell LOL. I've never pictured you to be a tent guy. You always seem to "rough" it. Looks a wee bit small for you. Billy has the right idea, get out of the wind. Love the easy setup.
Guns, Knives, and Beer haha aye cheers Mitchell 🖒 he's not daft is he 🐶. Oh aye I think you always need a tent in your arsenal for those rough mountain days etc. There's only so much roughing it you can do lol 😁. That's good that the little rascal ticks dont like the taste of you 🖒. Cheers for the comment fella n hope you n Disney are well ☺
Its a tight squeeze with a 13 year old but cracking little tent for one. Great review.
Aye Steve cheers fella 🖒. They are a great little tent and a good tent to share the Great Outdoors with the kids ☺🖒
Great for sea kayaking
Yeh 100 %. I've just used it for 4 nights on the West Coast of Scotland . I've lost count of the nights I've spent in it since this film was made but it's still going strong 👍
Fucking bollocks look at the state of that sky behind you a the end of the video!😅
Great review mate I’ve just bought this tent can’t wait to use it. Hopefully gets here before Friday!
Also subscribed 👍🏻
Aye its mad ain't it. Planes everywhere lol. Sure you will like it fella. Definitely a great tent 🙂👍. Might be out in mine for a few days next week up Scotland.
Cheers 👍
Atb Rick n Billydog
What you recon Rick, you think of you took the inner out and just used the outer in the summer it would make it lighter 👍. Lol leggy brunette OoH YeAh haha.
I’m thinking this is the place we talked about on the moors, lovely spot, I’m gonna have a walk up there Saturday morning, do a recon for a Lavvu camp at some point.
Spot on the Banshee ain’t it mate.
Anyway, massive congratulations on hitting 600 subs Rick, cheers, Ant.
Cheers Ant, must have crept upto 600 tonight. It'll be thanks to you and your film from the weekend fella 🙂👍. Aye I love the Banshee. I think they are a great little tent and yeah that's up on the moors. Some good spots over there 🙂
Billy loves the Banshee lol.
Absolutely 😃😃😃. Cheers 👍
Definitely Sumin 👍. I've used it bike packing before in winter 🙂
It weighs 2.4 kg not 0.88
Just looking at the area is there any where near Hatch Brook to camp?
There's loads of places in the woods above it 🙂👍
rick love the review im 6ft 1 would I get in with kit?
Yes definitely, I'm the same and I fit in with my dog and a 60ltr rucksack and kit in the side area or with me 👍. Not loads of room but enough 🙂. Good tent 🙂👍
I have the pro version and at 6.1 i find it very claustrophobic. My feet and head touch at both ends and thats without mats and sleepn bags ect
You can twist the tick out just like taking the screw out
“Bastard, found tik on’t dog”
Fuck it, I’ll subscribe. You had me at dog, or 1:18 depending what tariff ya on.
Southern ferry found that funny.
Haha class lol 😆. Sat in my tent now in North Wales getting battered by the wind. Definitely be doing a tick check on myself in a bit too, hopefully don't find any of the little bastards 😉.
Cheers 🙂👍
funny review loved it
Thankyou 🙂. Cheers for watching 🙂👍
This is a great review! Looks like you really put this tent to the test.
Urban Survivor hey cheers for that 🖒. Aye I've used it plenty so thought it was worth a review ☺. Cheers for the cool comment 🖒
great stuff
Cheers John 👍🙂
What rucksack are you using for this video 👍
Its an old Karrimor Jaguar 75. Must be 30 yrs old 🙂👍. Great pack
well done with the tick ....out with the head
peace pall
Haha absolutely. Horrible little buggers ain't they 👍. Cheers fella
Cracking video rick I don't really do tents but iv got a oex 3man tents a great size but i wouldn't like to try 3 people in it 😂😂😂atb jimmy 😎 😎
Lundy's Wildcamp/Bushcraft haha cheers Jimmy. Aye they must all be on the small side eh. Either that or were just used to sleeping in the open forest in hammocks and shelters with more open space around us 😁. Cheers Jimmy 🖒🖒
Forget the tent mate, have you got that brunettes number?
Haha brilliant lol. I'll dig it out for ya 😃😃. 👍
Is the tent suitable for summer?
Aye definitely. I sometimes open both side doors and leave them tied back so that a breeze can blow through during the night when it's really warm . Great all round tent 🙂👍
What do you recommend for a 2 person tent . Going for the vango 3 or 4 person tent instead?
Yeh probably. I was out in the mountains last week with two of us in the Banshee and ita a squeeze for sure. I havnt used the 3 person but that's what I'd be buying for two of us especially if I'm going to be using it in all weathers and need to have my rucksack and kit out of the elements too or have the possibility of being stuck in it for any time because of the weather etc 🙂👍
Awesome Vid Cheers Mate
Ahh cheers Mark 🖒🖒
Pissed me sen,, brilliant m8
Haha, cheers Ed 😀😀👍
I got the Banshee 200 model
Great tent 👍
Cockney slang "I'll have a butchers" sounds like he was gonna cut his dog 🐕 glad you got it out safely tho 🙏
Haha , cheers 😃😃
If you close your eyes its Carl Pilkington
Haha quality lol 😃😃
@@RickTOutdoorAdventure1969 great video too mate, just the first thing that popped in my head 🤣
@@19NinetyUK Made me laugh fella 😃. I was watching him last night too 👍🙂
nice to hear a bloke talk like a bloke .
Haha cheers 😃😃👍
Love it.
Cheers 👍
Is this at fair snape
No Its Great Hill but Fairsnape is a great location. Due another trip up there soon 🙂👍
I cant decide between the nevis 300 and the banshee 300, can someone help? 😅
I've not used the Banshee 300 but I've got a number of Nevis 300 tents for my Duke of Edinburgh groups and I find the Banshee design is easier to set up and get a really good pitch
You just sold it to me cheers geeza
Haha they are a great tent for sure. Love using mine 👍
Cracking Video Pal. What sleeping bag is that?
Cheers Thomas. It's an old sleeping bag, probably 27 years old so it's a bit big compared to the modern down bags but I still like using it sometimes. It's been a fantastic bit of kit. Not sure of the make but it's been a good un 🖒. Cheers fella
i will buy :)
"plenty of room" but you can't sit up. That would be very annoying for me! Changing clothes, eating an drinking, packing your backpack or simply waiting out a 4 hour downpour... would all be very uncomfortable in that position. No thanks, I'll go with the Blade 200.
Aye, it makes a difference being able to sit up properly 👍
There is a guy selling one for £65... do you think thats a bargain?
If it's in good nick, which they often are I'd go for it. A lot of people buy them but never use them properly so it might be worth a punt 🖒
Subbed
Thankyou 🙂👍
