    Thank you so much for taking the time to do this, daughter has a Covid safe tent sleepover at a friends tomorrow and I'd be at a complete loss how to sort my old Banshee out. It's 5 years old, hopefully same idea, will let you know if not! Again - lifesaver!

    Just got this delivered to Germany from the UK yesterday. Cost 116€ delivered. Spent most of the night in it, until a thunderstorm rolled in and I went inside the house. So far quite impressive for the price, seems underpriced if anything.
    This video helped me a LOT with the set up, and the little features that I would have overlooked otherwise. Thank you so much 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

    • @bear.chills
      @bear.chills  4 года назад

      They are excellent for the price...it as a TBS system for stormy weathers. Yes it's a bit bulky and weight is slightly over from an expensive tent, but the price is right. It's a great starter tent in my opinion. Have fun....P.S you got it at a good price delivered.

    • @motioninmind6015
      @motioninmind6015 4 года назад +1

      @@bear.chills I bought it through Amazon but the seller is a UK company called Blacks. It's the only information I can see. German websites have it for over €200.
      Yes it's a bit bulky but I have to compromise somewhere. I'll hopefully be in the Austrian Alps with it end of July 👍🏻
      PS the problem with the storm was the massive thunderbolts crashing nearby. Since I was only out in the garden I figured there was no sense in sticking it out 😅

    Hi. Thanks for this review with all the details. I bought the Banshee 200 this summer like an other German here in the video comments. I ordered it for 116 € over Amazon as well. I used the Banshee on motorcycle trips in France an Germany within the past few weeks. The Banshee is perfect for that because of its weight, package size, features and easy and fast setup. For me it's enough space in it for me and my luggage. For two persons plus luggage it's to small I think. A perfect outdoor product for this price. Best regards from Germany Jörg

      Hey Jòrg, this tent is fantastic for the price. The 300 is perfect for 2 persons. The 200 is only good for 1....Nice to speak to you and one day I hope to camp in Germany, I do have followers on here from Germany and tell me how good it is their to camp. Update. Put up tent no problem at all. In hindsight I could have pegged it better to give a bit more space between inner and flysheet. Rained in night and kept perfectly dry. Ok space for just me with a couple of bags but as I'll be working at festivals I'll get the banshee gear store add on to give me a bit more space. Followed your video to a T and was easy peasy to put up and take down. Thanks again.

    Well I found a critical point. Mine's been standing in the garden two rainy days and nights now. I just checked and it was CRAWLING with "ear wigs", not sure what they're called in UK. Spent the last 30min removing them.
    Point of entry are the openings for the TBS straps. I unclipped the straps and pushed them through to the outside, then pinched the Velcro on the openings closed.
    After long inspection, I think one other possible access point will be the small gap between the double zipper fobs (or whatever you call them) of the inner flyscreen doors.
    Don't believe I'll need the TBS tensioner in general, so will just leave the straps outside till it's necessary.

    • @bear.chills
      @bear.chills  4 года назад

      Wow, never heard that before, yes the velcro leaves minimal opening, the ear wigs must of been determined and I can't remember how much gap the zip left....abit worrying now but I've never had a problem with mine hence no mention. How did it hold up in the rain.....good idea taking the TBS system out if not needed. I'll pitch mine up soon and have a close look.

    • @motioninmind6015
      @motioninmind6015 4 года назад +1

      @@bear.chills Yeah, ear wigs are extremely determined little buggers, and our garden is apparently a major ear wig metropolis, haha. Anyway, I've spent the last two nights in the Banshee. It's been raining constantly but I've stayed dry except for some condensation which I think is totally acceptable given the wet humid conditions. I left the TBS straps out.
      I've aso been testing my new Trekology Aluft air mat. It's about 10cm thick, takes 22 strong puffs to fill, and is more comfortable than my normal bed. The reason I mention it though is the low-hanging inner tent in the Banshee becomes a problem (for me) with the raised mat. I have an idea for a permanent solution which I want to try in the next days.
      My temporary solution was to clamp the inner text to the flysheet with a spring clamp. But I worry that that might damage the material long term.

    • @bear.chills
      @bear.chills  4 года назад

      Yes I think I forgot about that regarding the 'the sag' on the inner tent in my review, it was a problem especially if your tall but not enough for me to modify it, I suppose you could try velcro or something but never let the outer and inner touch. Depends what camping trip you go on regarding the Air bed but my full v 3 Quater length self inflating mat video explains in detail which one to go for.
      So in Hermany are you all un locked

    I'm looking for a tent for a 630 mile, 35 day hike next year. This is a real contender & a good all rounder. I like the weight of the Lanshan Pro 200 but it just hasn't got the build quality. I am also looking at the Cloud Up2 & Helm 1 Compact. I'm very conscious of weight but I am prepared to carry a bit more for better quality.

      effyleven YES - they are still making it; I’ve had mine years now...made in 2010... it’s just the most amazing tent. I have four. A gelert solo one man, a Vango banshee 200 (as stated;two man tent), a rage 3 man tent and a rage four man.... Vango DEFINITELY make the more superior quality tents. Mine has the orange inner tent, as described, and is without the second door or extra pockets. But tbh, I wouldn’t use those anyway, and I use it as a solo tent anyway, so why would I need an extra door ??? 🤣🤣
      But saying that, if I ever needed to upgrade/replace, I would DEFINITELY look at buying a Vango tent first choice... you just can’t beat their quality 😊

      My new channel is based on outdoors also amateur radio, sota etc. The codes are actually call signs of the person. Mine is M7 LLA. To get a call sign you after go on a course and pass an exam. Please look up amateur radio. SOTA is like a part of amateur radio..were you climb summits and get points for climbing the summits...the higher the summit the more points you get. Sota (Summits on the air) is a world wide hobby. Please see my video I did on doing a sota activation. I've decided to merge my wild camping with radio communications.
