    Hey Rowan J Parker,
    I've just started learning this song, and I'm fearing those arpeggios near the end! Any tips for getting it down and working on speed?
    Cheers,
    Geordie

      @@jackmercer5590 I admire his dedication and work ethic. However I think he is putting means before ends. Technique should serve the music, not be the point of the music. I think he is amazing, but unlistenable.

      @@RowanJParker I don't listen to his stuff but when I was young I used to think there was a best guitarist it wasn't long before I watched Elenour rigby by Stanley Jordan and I realized how could I compare him to Gary Moore, Allan Holdsworth, bumblefoot etc you can't we all learn from eachother I didn't know about the importance of the cutaway when it comes to shredding before I heard him mention it I never realized the importance of the headstock with regards to string tension before I heard rusty talk about it in a video about his old Dean, I don't have a single one of his songs but I still like to learn from him

    Technically it's not hard to make it.Many people as myself for example are able to play Gambale and Shawn Lane licks.That is not the problem.The problem is to being able to improvise with rhythm and harmonic sense.At least i see this problem in me and most players.That is why Gambale is Gambale ,because he can improvise and come up with these "licks" on very challenging harmonies like Chick Corea's Elektric band.

    Frank invented sweep picking as we know it today, greatest fusión player ever, that's why Chick Corea chose him.

    • @RowanJParker
      @RowanJParker  6 лет назад

      Alexis Rosales Ruiz As much as I love Frank I don't think he would claim he 'invented' it. People were using those sweep and economy picking ideas well before he was. It is true to say he developed the technique to a level beyond what anyone had previously and I agree he's an incredible improviser. The title greatest fusion player ever is just subjective and I don't think anyone deserves that title, besides I find him lacking as a composer so it's not an epithet I could bestow on him. He is amazing but sense of proportion required here perhaps?

    Its Gambale, always gets a raised eyebrow from me, monster player.. fashion disaster... the best are always that bit more eccentric, thinking chopbuilder, er ner
