I used to play Shawn Lane stuff with not much problems.Years passed by and i have been playing 20 minutes per week maybe for the last couple of years.I don't have a lot of musicians interested in this kind of music in my city so i got tired of playing alone. How do you keep your interest after many years?I am playing from 13 years.

In the ascending 5's in pentatonic are you alternate picking? and if so did you start down or up just curious because I see you hybrid and economy quite a bit.

Stern's sound and technique is a bit more lose, super light touch and very airy attack - I'm certainly not trying to reproduce either him or Gambale, I just try to play the stuff as cleanly as possible. I love Holdsworth but his stuff is so far away from what I'm used to musically and technically :)

Allan holdsworth has an old instructional video where he described his method for getting his sound somewhere in the middle. I recommend it watch?v=4JjBdnGDuYM

You got down the Gambale stuff but you just can't make the Mike Stern lick sound like him.Mike Stern has a good improvisation sense but his playing is so flawed you can't replicate so many mistakes he does. There is plenty of material for these guys and they play somewhat following some logic.I am interested if you can explain some Holdsworth logic because i don't think even he can explain what the hell he is doing.
