Thank goodness we have video like this to explain to our kids what music is all about. No sexy dancers or light. Just pure raw emotions. Long live music
There is no best Guitar player. This is not sport, it is art. Gary is amazing, nothing less and he moves me in ways Petrucci doesn't. But guess what, it is also the other way around. This goes for many other guitar gods. They are all artists, each with his own unique signature. So love the one you love, respect the others.
He moved on and went over the hills and far away now...The king of the blues. Now he`s walking with the King of Kings. No more Parisienne Walkways no more Friday on your mind no more Gary Moore. You left us out in the fields, in empty rooms drowning in tears. truely a hero... thanks gary for everything rest in peace
13 years without Gary..... I always find myself listening to this song, a clip that I have probably seen more than 500 times, and feeling the same emotion as the first time... You were a genius, and fortunately we still have your music. Thanks Gary.
Totally agree. I never tire of hearing this one. The climb up the fretboard toward the end of the solo is utterly perfect and it makes this easily one of the greatest blues guitar solos ever.
@rodrigoabisaber5806 - I wouldn't judge these solos that far and unequivocally, because all of his songs have "one of the best guitar solos". That's how Gary Moore always played masterfully, giving his whole self, including his own soul. Thank you, Mr. Gary Moore, for all the musical and aesthetic experiences. May you rest in eternal peace...❤🙏😢🌹🍀🌸🌻🌼🌺🌷
@@TheTigerDog74 You're right, one of the best guitar solos in blues history but not the best. She is great, but not the best. To write as I do, you should have listened to all of Gary Moore's music and more. Best regards.👍👋☮
This is as good as it gets. Gary was on fire, and the solo on this song is the pinnacle of electric blues guitar. Playing to a nearly comatose audience, the solo comes to a climax with such conviction and energy, it leaves me breathless every time I listen to it. If you don't feel it, I feel sorry for you. Every note where it belongs, the rules of tension and release in place, beautiful touch and vibrato, and perfect tone and execution; in a word, magic. Not a player alive can match this.

God! what a MASTER! I'm a guitar freak for years and I thought I listened to it all until I found Gary. He tops them ALL. Never seen anyone like him, and will never see.
Gary was the most bold and melodic sounding bluesman who ever lived. You can feel his music, his drive, and his pain. This song is from After Hours, an amazing album.
Having seen Gary live, his solos gave me goosebumps - just an incredible guitarist and I don't know of any living guitarist that can match him. I always felt he was underrated in success terms but not by people who appreciate excellent electric blues.
Agree with everything you said, huge huge Fan just a great incredible player the bet that will ever be no one came near , and with a great voice to boot ,love you GM

Anyone who can induce tears has to be an exceptional Artist ; not many are able to actually channel their soul through an instrument like this.... Gary was one of them and there has yet to be another to invoke such strong emotions in his fans. Rest in peace Gary. Sorely missed.
What an absolute meagre bit of applause for what is one of the best guitar solos anyone has ever played. If I was at that gig I would hang my head in shame. Genius is the only word that fits. R.I.P Gary. You were the best.
If you watch the whole concert, there is mad applause overall. I think the crowd just got so blown away by the collective ass-kicking greatness that is Gary Moore that they became a bit too stunned at what they were seeing to do much more than sit there and gape in awe at the blues hurricane in front of them.
To be fair to the audience, I believe that particular show was a warm-up gig before a tour. It was a small venue, it wasn't advertised, and most of the crowd were invited family and friends. Hence the slightly more subdued responses to what were undeniably superb renditions of his latest stuff. Would have loved to be there....

My abosolute favorite blues song and solo. The most heartfelt solo ever - we don't need any words to understand the message, the guitar transcends and speaks volumes. Just the best!
One of my major influences as a guitarist, this was always my favourite track, and the solo at the end is absolutely tear jerking, it just goes to show one of the true legends who could express his emotions and bare his soul through his guitar. There haven't been many who have walked this earth who could do that. Rest in peace Gary.

What an extraordinary performance. I've been listening to both the studio recording of this one, as well as watching this on video for years now (actually bought it on DVD). As much as I love every aspect of this song (music, lyrics, and melody), his last voyage up the neck in that last solo stretch takes my breath away. If you don't feel the power/passion coming from his soul during that particular stretch, you might as well as stop listening to music altogether.

My favorite guitarist of all time. So sad that millions of people don't know him. I'm glad that my local radio station played "Still got the blues" back in the late 90's and then I re-discovered him, hearing a live version of Still got the blues from "Blues Alive" 10 years later.
