Dale, I'm looking at these green boots and I am not impressed. After all, I just purchased Grant Stone Jungle Kangaroos. Then, you started modeling the boots. Wow! The boots in motion look awesome! Your videos are very entertaining. I like the way you turn each boot so that we can see it from every angle. Watching you is like watching the Project Runway of Boots. Thank you, Dale!
I have the Marion boot from Helm and for the first couple of wears the instep area of the vamp/tongue was absolutely killing me. So much so to the point of bruising. The upper eventually softened up and broke in to the shape of my foot and everything is fine. I still love the boot and get compliments all the time when I wear them. Guys with high insteps just need to be prepared for a little rough break in period is all.
I had a similar experience but also have a wide foot which have a bit more room in the instep. The Zind or Hollis wouldn't have worked out, but the wider profile last on the Marion/Railroad/Muller worked ok for me. I disagree with Dale on the sole, though, I feel the Helm mini-lug is a superior sole.
I have a Helm boot too. They are definitely true to size. I unfortunately bought a half size smaller so I need to sell mine on their used market

I have the Pablo zip up chelsea boot in black. Had a slight quality control issue with my pair; a few millimeters of the stitching around the upper border of the medial zipper came out after just a few brief wears, and some of the stitching at the bottom of the boot has also come out. Probably should have returned/exchanged them, but I had already (stupidly) thrown all of the packaging away. I still think they look great and I still occasionally wear them. Wonder if anyone else has had any issues with the stitching on their Helm boots, though.
As far as sizing, Helm has a thing on their site that asks your size in other brands. I'm a 10.5D in Red Wing Iron Rangers, which are known to run half size large. I wear an 11 in sneakers... but Helm says 10.5 would fit me best.

Again, take a look at Officine Creative boots and how some of their models did soles and quality and design is impecable. They cost around $700 but quality is absolutely fantastic and design is symply the best ever.
Really, they look like fashion boots which probably rely on a lot of hype/marketing versus substance.
@@ibbjos08 I have several pairs of this brand and quality and craftsmanshift is fantastic. First time I got this brand I was in Toronto 18 years ago and I bought pair of slip on sandals and didnt have an idea, still vearing them today every summer and botom is still in fantastic shape and I didnt take them for repair yet. They look “fashionable” but the quality is realy fantastic. Boots are phenomenal, maybe not all models of course but one that I got are absutely fantastic.
Ordered the Helm Hollis in olive. Can't wait to get them. I think the olive will have an insane patina when worn for awhile.

From my own experience when it comes to fit, I find I need to go up on size with boots that have a gusseted tongue like the Zind. I think it might be a high instep issue.
Man that’s pretty extreme. Have you tried the EE width boots? They’re supposed to have a little more volume.
I just retuned a pair of olive AE boots a few weeks ago due to very poor construction. With free returns, I’m going to see if this works out. Not a whole of companies with olive green boots in wide width.

Yeah I’m disappointed. I wanted to pick up a pair of the Muller, whichever one was the Made in USA. Going to have to pass now. Plus not caring that much for the signature white midsole layer. Reminds me of the midsole on a lot of moc toes.
