This story highlights the literal fear of driving down this block in the 90's. My older brother and I took one of my friends to eat with us at Chris & Pitts BBQ, he lived on Blythe. When it came time to drop him off at night he wouldn't allow us to drive down the block, because they would shoot at us since the car was unfamiliar. We dropped him off at the corner store and dipped off. Crazy times. I have tons of stories from a few of these encounters you post but I will refrain from speaking on them, I will say this page has some great content.

The shit he tell is 100% true! I went to drop off a friend there back in 2007. After dropping him off I started to drive away and as I was driving away I was passing by an apartment building where a group of dudes were throwing up signs at all the cars passing by and as soon as they saw mine they started yelling at me to stop and shouting out Blythe while rushing towards my car. Then all of a sudden dudes started hoping out of fences and walls from other apartment buildings as well yelling tje same shit at me and my ass sped the fuck out of there towards Van Nuys Blvd infront of The Plant, and turned on Van Nuys and sped the fuck off. NEVER again will I ever go down that street after that experience. I can only imagine what would have happened to me if they would have got to my car.

      Proverbs 4:14-22
Do not enter the path of the wicked,
And do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble. My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.

I lived down the street from this place for many years and as a white guy, I secretly thank God these guys never took a disliking to me and am not kidding. Realistically, it was probably just some rare instances of luck and they had better things to do. There were many situations though I was in where these guys could have easily killed me or severely hurt me. Make no mistake, these are guys you would much rather have as friends than as enemies. This is from the heart man, God bless whoever those gangsters were for showing me compassion when they were tougher than Godzilla.

The only thing you'll see is children playing/skating in the park, people selling food, and people partying every other Saturday. There are police roaming the streets (rightfully so) but mainly due to many motorcycle driver revving their engine in the middle of the night. The gang related crime might not be as bad as LA but it's just as poor. There's another area of blythe on roscoe west of van Nuys blvd behind the Wal mart that's grimey af. I don't know how active blythe is there but that shits like all run down apt buildings. Very densely populated.
