I lived on Fairmont and Fickett for a couple of years. My first encounter with KAM was them asking where I was from, I said nowhere and they saw I was coming home from my construction job. They were cool though and the next day I showed up with an 18 pack of beers for them, after that they looked after my car parked on the street lol

I grew up in the big white apartments on the corner of Soto and wabash for 25 years. Technically state streets corner. It’s literally the boarder for Kam/state and hazard. I rarely saw state street around doing anything. I always got banged on by KAM everywhere I went though. I didn’t even look like a gangster. They were just super active always on the hunt. Even a week before moving out in 2017 2 dudes were walking around my apartment with shot guns looking for staters. Asking me & my friends posted in the front if we were from state or knew anyone. They def are the most active and have their neighborhood blasted with graffiti

I use to go to Kams hood in the 90's with an older homie to go score "Rocks". Thats when P'dogs were in and thats when the dudes from Kam had it popping with the "Crack" spots. I remember I use to wait in the car while the older homie use to go score. Every wall on every corner would have big azz block letters across the whole wall from top to bottom, "Kamsters" !! Thats when I first started hearing about Kam. That spot I use to go to was a gold mine for the Kams. They had everyone on the Eastside including people from all over L.A. County going there to pick up. But it was also a hot spot for the black & whites. But they couldn't stop it because the way the house was set up. You had to go up a long azz flight of stairs to get to the house and the dudes from Kam knew who and who not to slang to. Finally the jurás figured out a plan, they dressed up as construction workers, climbed the utility poles and were staking out the spot until they finally raided it. The main dude from Kam whos spot it was, shot it out with the jurás and ended up getting smoked !! Yeah, the dudes from Kam have been putting it down since day one. I know some cold stories with the dudes from Kam !! Also, shout out to the black homie Joker from Kam !! C/M/R

Kam did their thing and took claim to a large area but let’s relax a little. Ficket, wabash and vickeystown and even hicks were small varrios that kind of died out so the youngsters started getting into kam instead. It mostly happened through attrition. The sentinel boys became a varrio at the same time as kam but were much smaller. State st was always on the other side of Soto and never lost territory. Kam did do a hell of a job maintaining control of that large area while going at it with everything around them. I don’t think anyone on the east side would deny them their credit tho. They had a lot of hitters but most of them got washed up.

To the best of my knowledge this is all pretty accurate but also very unfortunate due to all the historia of those old legendary varrios coming to an end king cobra, Fickett… The way I see it is the end of a era & certain way of doing things & the ushering in of a more Chicago like Boyle heights gangland senselessly killing there own & opposing traditions long keep, Maybe it’s not all bad Idk, You should do something on other big former tagger hoods like BN in Paramount or KCC in Compton
