Despite the fascinating failure of Warner Bros. to market the platform fighter that took the world by storm, I took another peek into an alternate timeline where Multiversus started back in the 90s... and went Ultimate this year.

By the end of this I looked at this roster in a beautiful horror
Now we just need you to infiltrate Warner Bros to make this real.
For the Flash, an idea for a move is him performing a miraculous dive catch an ally and throw said ally back onto the stage. Which is a reference to a running gag in a lot of versions of the character where if someone falls or gets knocked away, the Flash rushes in and catches the person.
They fumbled the bag so unbelievably hard for no reason. God bless the people who've been having faith in the devs and playing offline solo this whole last year
To be perfectly honest, I don't have that much faith in the game to get better, though it's not a lack of faith in the devs; but rather, Warner Bros. as a whole. Especially with Zaslav in charge.

Riley and huey would be such a good add to this game
I know that Fionna & Cake was very popular, but just like Cake being a skin of Jake I feel like Fionna could easily be a skin as well. Ice King/Simon represents Fionna & Cake very decent as well. Marceline as future addition and the Lich as a boss would be perfect.
Fionna got in on virtue of being able to be made a clone. Had I been doing all unique, I would've gone with a different character, most like Ice King.

I'm a little sad Lobo is a boss instead of being playable, but I'm happy he's here in the first place.
I love Lobo, he's such a cool character. In the end it was him or Darkseid, and I felt I needed to go with the bigger name. But Lobo would be so sick as a playable fighter.
I watched your first video on Multiversus before this one and both videos have such incredible editing! I loved the edits in both and they definitely stand out from other videos that are just lists. It reminded me of how Thorgi does his, "Build The Roster" series of videos. excellent video! I love a lot of these ideas. I hope that a lot of these characters make it into the actual game. I'm excited to see what you do in the future!

I liked the first roster before, and I like this roster here. Would have been better if MaoMao and Pibby were actually playable, but that's just nitpicking. If this was Multiversus' roster, I would feel lost, and make me want to scramble to find a main. Hope your channel gets more recognition! Both are ideas I've played with. The former won't be for awhile since we're unsure of the current status past the first season of DLC, as that would inform some of my choices. The latter I will definitely be doing in the future.

Forgot to say I'm glad you added KO and respect Scrappy Doo. He's my favorite Scooby Doo character. Aside from Alien Force Gwen and Lola, I have three other picks I'd add. Enid from OKKO as a mostly ninja assassin type, Sawyer from Cats Don't Dance as a dance bruiser and probably a Total Drama rep assuming there's no problems with rights issues; probably someone from TDI. Maybe Duncan, Courtney or Chris himself. I'd like Bridgette but she loves animals too much to punch Gizmo or Jake. Maybe have her as an assist where she rides in on a wave (she's a surfer). Maybe also Amethyst, Stevonnie or Peridot and Lapis (duo) from Steven Universe. I could easily see any of them as good picks. Amethyst as an assassin type, Stevonnie as a Bruiser and Peridot/Lapis as a Mage.

I REALLY wanna see that story mode you made realized. I think it’ll be better than Subspace Embassy because the characters will actually talk as opposed to just stare at each other. Also i love the contrast of picking your first fighter, you could either pick Batman the worlds greatest detective and one of the greatest superheroes ever, or you could pick the guy who would more than likely cause more harm to the multiverse than good. 😂 amazing video man i would love to see more stuff like this in the future and also you just gained a new subscriber.

Regarding your point about JJBA, iirc WB directly helped out with Stone Ocean so characters like Jolyne are probably fair game. I understand you not wanting to include them though, just my opinion on the situation
JoJo's rights are still kinda all over the place regardless. From my understanding just getting them in Jump crossovers are hard enough, and I mean, if I operated under this logic, I think people would still be miffed that it's Jolyne and not Jotaro or Dio.

It's an interesting idea, but I didn't really go for characters that were already from previous crossovers. I wanted this game to have it's own identity.

I have a suggestion, instead of the RWBY stage chosen being the Dust shop, maybe make it the Amity Colosseum, it can have a gimmick kinda like the Pokemon Stadium stage in Smash where it randomly swaps layouts and themes

@@TheNerdIncarnate Well tbf RWBY is in IP limbo right now with WB wanting to sell the rights but no one is going to want that show for the price they're asking. It's still possible for WB to change the agenda with RWBY and give it to another studio.

I'm very glad that you went back and gave this another shot, and although some characters didn't end up as fighters here (Courage, Pibby, and the Miser Brothers are picks I've been gunning for, and I'm surprised that Droopy doesn't have an announcer pack) I feel that something this size and variety is overall good for the game. The game should be all about celebrating WB's history. Too bad that WB actively hates its history now.
My research on who actually owns Droopy was inconclusive, hence why I didn't give him a pack. Courage, Pibby, and the brothers would all make great picks, it's just that I had so much other Cartoon Network already, Pibby's show never materialized, and the Misers are just so niche and so many people don't even know WB owns them. But I wanted to make sure they got at least a small bone thrown to them.

This is a really good fan roster. Hell, I wouldn't be mad if this was the offical roster! Thank you for including Teen Ben btw, that made me really happy. And making Gwen an echo of Raven is actually pretty genius. Overall I think the roster has a great mixture of IP's and I really like the storymode concept. Hoping the Relaubch is a sucess and sone of these ideas get transfered into the actual game.

I feel like Numbuh 5 and Yogi Bear could have been included, but I do really like this roster. Ross (or really any main character from Friends) would make a great joke character. There should also really be a Casablanca stage.
I wanted to include Yogi, but he didn't really feel like much of a fighter to me and I couldn't figure out a moveset I liked for him. As for Numbuh Five, I actually did consider her rather than Numbuh One for one of the RWBY replacements (along with Numbuh Four) but decided on Nigel simply due to him being the most recognizable.
I think your crazy for not including godzilla. Not only is their a half ownership of the monsterverse version, not only is he one of the most iconic characters of all time but Toho has been putting him in everything they can as of late, theirs been more godzilla collaborations in video games the past 5 or so years than you can believe. Idk how you can avoid even mentioning him as a rep for big bodies
Half-Ownership only quantifies if there isn't a third company to work with. He's still licensed out from Toho; which puts him in the same boat as someone like Barbie - WB helps produce some of the content but hold no legal ownership over the characters. LOTR gets in on a technicality (video game content is WB' domain), and LEGO Movie got in for their characters actually being owned by WB. Godzilla has neither of these benefits.
@TheNerdIncarnate feels like a strange line to draw considering the existing partner ship and recent history of collaborations, though. I understand these are the rules you've set for a characters entry but Godzillas circumstance certainly makes him more likley than your average "guest character".The pure prominace that character holds at the moment, along with what I just mentioned with the overflow of collaborations, really makes me bet he'll be in.

I feel like robin should've been here, maybe as an echo for Bruce over Terry, an assist character or his own character. Edit: also instead of Black Adam I think it should've been Shazam with Black Adam as a skin
There are so many characters on the table.
-Green Arrow (The existence of Arrow warrants his inclusion. His whole gimmick is having millions of trick arrows that could be implemented into his moveset)
-Robin/Cyborg/Starfire/Beast Boy (Robin as an assassin, Cyborg as a tank, Starfire as a mage, and BB as a bruiser since like Ben the forms he uses the most often just punch things. The titans are DC's second biggest team, so only having Raven on the roster to represent them would be underutilizing the IP.)
-Shazam (Making him a skin for Adam would be like making Barry a skin for Thawne or Clark a skin for Zod. Just use any of his moves from injustice or MK vs DC, he can even borrow Adam's moves from the games as well)
-Sinestro/Atrocitus/Larfleeze/Jessica Cruise/Star Sapphire (Lantern rings are so versatile that you could put all of them in the game and have them play completely differently from each other)
-Martian Manhunter (He's a core JL member and has a powerset that dwarfs Superman's. Limiting him to announcer pack only would be a huge waste of potential)
-Booster Gold (Fan favorite with a lot of interaction potential, a huge number of gadgets, and a surprising amount of outfits)
-Peacemaker (He hit the ground running after The Suicide Squad)
-Lex Luthor/Cheetah (Literally just so they can have interactions with their nemeses)
-Enid/Radicles (OK KO is all about characters with wacky powers pummeling robots, so these too would fit in with MVS)
-Rex Salazar (His show is underrated and he did have a couple of crossovers with Ben. His moveset potential is insane)
-Darwin/Nicole (AWOG is one of modern CN's big four, so it deserves more than one rep. Darwin and Nicole have been seen throwing the hands quite frequently. Richard and Anaise could be summons)
-Pearl/Amethyst (RWBY rule. All or none.)
-Fred Jones (Kinda weird have everyone else in the Scooby Gang be playable but leave him out. A trap based tank could be incredibly interesting)
-Anyone who was in Punchtime Explosion
-Space Ghost (Fighter based on the original, announcer pack based on Coast to Coast)
-Gary Goodspeed and Mooncake (Final Space is essentially a modern cult classic)
-Wyldstyle (She throws hands, has a grappling hook, has a motorcycle, and her goto weapon is a beeg hammer. Lots of potential.)
-Any Ninjago character pre-Netflix
-Wiz and Boomstick (They both have plenty of weapons, armor, and skills. Ringmaster and Jocelyn could be announcer packs)
-Johnny Cage (He's like the fourth or fifth biggest MK character)
Jessica Cruz is already a skin for Green Lantern.

It would be awkward because she’s noticeably shorter and skinnier than Hal or John. She could also be a support character.
Like I said in the video, I could do a roster double this size and people would still be left out. I can't please everybody. Diversity in origin and playstyle was the main contributing factor in who I chose.
For the Scooby stage I think something like the Funland could work as the gimmick of those stages could Charlie throwing stuff at you or walking through the stage but will launch you if you touch him.
As for the boss: Puppet Master from backstage rage. Okay hear me out here, he would play pretty much like the evil mask figure, but with Puppet versions of Scooby monsters. Phase one would be the Phantom that would swoop down to attack and would drop potions like Velma that would freeze or weaken you, phase two would be the Black knight, that has similar powers to Shaggy and is a tank, the last one would be the head of the Phantosaur, that breathes fire and can cause spotlights to fall on you.
FYI Warner Bros. Japan has some serious stock in Jojo... they might not own distribution rights inside Japan but they do own the second largest share in the ownership of the IP the second to only the Chinese company that owns the studio.
They also own shares in Astro Boy but for some reason no one is getting anywhere near Astro Boy these days.
Also pretty sure that Middle Earth is still wholly owned by Tolkein's family company, they didn't sell the IP to Embracer just the media distribution rights that Middle Earth had. Middle Earth still has the book rights and ownership of the IP but they sold their film rights to Embracer Group with a similar deal they have with Warner Bros. for the video and film rights. As long as Lord of the Rings media is being filmed by New Line Cinema then Warner Bros. keeps the video and film rights but they will have to go through Embracer Group if the Middle Earth characters can be used in Rings of Power or Multiversus. The deal means that Embracer Group has to keep producing Lord of the Rings media to have a say in what Warner Bros. does with the IP, vice versa with Warner Bros. and Embracer Group.
It's a very complicated business deal but that about sums it up, I'm guessing Middle Earth still gets royalties from anything that is done, but I'm guessing they did it this way so that Embracer Group and Warner Bros. are both earning them money.
Best thing about Johnny Bravo though is that after he meets and loses his true love through no fault of his own, he becomes pitiable. He's always trying to replace what he lost but didn't understand why he lost her because she wiped his memory to protect him. It becomes a deeper more meaningful show, when? After the most meaningful woman enters his life.
Unfortunately that still disqualifies them based on my criteria, as it would be reaching out to yet another party for approval; and a Japanese one at that. JoJo has notoriously complex rights; just getting them in Jump crossovers is reported to be difficult. I wouldn't bet on any JoJo character, even if third party characters do join in.
Could be cool to see a Disney version of this video in the future as they loads of ips like Warner bros

Robotboy / Protoboy as an echo fighter ( Is owned by CN )
Godzilla ( Toho ) while being obvious as a pick, if they ever gotten Tohos permission to use their big lizard to be along side King Kong, ever since their last few Gozilla brawlers turned out great!
Dr. Flug or Dementica from Villainous, I would prefer if they remained as support or assassin characters to be along side Black Hat.

I was honestly thinking between any PS or Xbox title game as limited characters within the game either as borrowed or requested characters like how Sora, a Disney property made it into a Nintendo title, and since Banjo Kazooie is also in that game despite being a Xbox title too. either Crash or Spyro? or hell even the most goofiest, Sackboy as main term use?
they may must be a goofy pick to have, but I had honestly zero clue to add in anything else here.
This is either the most broken list of characters, or they'd have the most busted moveset within the game that it'll make the game 10 times more annoying or ten times more fun, but I am free with any comment or criticism :P

Ok loved everything about the vid, the bosses, The stages, everything, I do have one suggestion and it's only cause I'm completely biased with my love for roman and neo, but is it possible neo could be an echo of Blake her illusions working like blakes shadow clones mechanic wise, with Blake’s clones getting an elemental dust effect while neo’s illusions don't, and then you could have roman be a support fighter, him using his cane to hit foes, grapple around the stage, and fire at enemies
I seriously doubt this would ever happen but imagine if they added the Crypt Keeper from Tales From the Crypt and Umlaut from CarnEvil as announcer packs in a Halloween event. And with Beetlejuice all three of the greatest horror hosts in media all in one game, sounds like a Scream come true!
I guess the quote about "Collaboration characters to a minimum" is why(Alongside Nintendo) you decided to not include someone like say Detective Pikachu despite his movie being made by Wanner Bros and Legendary Pictures Alongside Gamefreak
As for his moveset I would imagine say a combination of Smash Bros Pikachu with a Mechainc similar to Marvel vs Capcom Pheniox Wright
I mean objectively speaking he's still a Nintendo/GameFreak/Creatures Inc. character so he would never get in purely based on the fact that the Pokemon IP is only allowed to exist in game form on Nintendo platforms and mobile, so if he did get in he'd have to be an exclusive character, which fighting games don't really do anymore.

These all feel like DC staples: Aquaman, Flash, Green Lantern, Darkseid, Martian Manhunter, Green Arrow, Joker, Robin, Startfire, Cyborg, Raven, Beast Boy
I think one or two of the bosses should be unlockable characters like how in smash ultimate you unlock bowser and gannondorf after defeating their bosses, Bane and Daenerys Targaryen would be my choices. Dr. Manhattan should also be an unlockable character for completing the story mode and as a massive surprise no one would know about until you beat the campaign or it gets spoiled online.

Can I offer an alternative to Jon Snow being Jamie Lannister? Having the only two Game of Thrones characters come from the same family seems very limited with the abundance of characters in the show. Plus, he could use his metal hand to block melee damage or something.
I gave Jamie a role, it just wasn't playable. In my admittedly limited knowledge of GoT, from my perspective it seems like Jon is the more beloved character and between the two of them I felt he had more interesting moveset potential.
@@TheNerdIncarnate That's fair, I like Jaime better personally though because Jaime is also a really interesting and complex character, he's just not a main character like Jon Snow. Which would make for a more niche character pick which most fighter games need in my experience.
I would however reccomend you watch the show, it's really good.

Coming back to this after seeing what I assume is the final base roster, I really like what you had envisioned for the game, sadly doubt it will ever be as amazing as this. Though I do think RWBY may have been a bit overrepresented compared to maybe adding in some more diversity amongst the roster of IPs. RWBY is a cool franchise, but def not the most known amongst the general audiences.
It's true, and it's probably not even really eligible anymore so it is what it is. I'm glad you liked it, and here's hoping there's some cool stuff in store. The characters revealed and teased today are giving me a positive vibe for the game though, so let's judge it on what is there!

I didn't have too many ideas other than that they would support their ally with a buff of positivity (by making them smile, naturally) but there's enough wacky antics you could utilize from the show to work with. Maybe Charlie could get his magical gear from the Enchanted Forest episode, complete with Gollum Pim. That'd be funny.
If I would be making this I'd propose to split up the Animaniacs and make them all clones of each other with different special moves when applies. You'd already be making the models so why not split them up to bolster the roster size. You can even take special moves from other fighters like using Shaggy's sandwich move for Wacko or Yakko taking Gizmo's singing move for a Countries of the World reference.
In that case they take up 3 roster slots. Even with a hundred space was still limited and there were over fifty characters I passed on to settle with the lineup I had.

I did have a version of the roster that had a Scooby-Doo monster on it, as I think it's worth including, but it wasn't the Creeper. I was torn between Captain Cutler, the Black Knight, and Space Kook.

It doesn't sit right with me to not have Darwin fighting alongside his brother. One idea I had is for them to function like Ren & Stimpy in NASB, effectively being a single character with a shared hitbox between the two. Alternitively, Darwin could also simply appear for a certain attacks or specials if the first way just isn't working for one reason or another.
I actually really like your roster and only have one minor nitpick. Personally, I would love to see bane as a fighter or killer croc because those are my favorite villains but other then that, I thought your roster was awesome!
hear me out for my character ideas: robin (dick grayson), both 2004 and GO! variants. GO! robin is essentially the pichu version of the 2004 robin, hurting himself and generally being a pathetic ass compared to the 2004 version.
I deliberately avoided Robin, as Batman already took up a huge presence on this roster and DC is such a huge universe, so he was extremely low priority to be picked. On a 200 character lineup? Sure, I have room there, but 100 turns out to be quite limiting when the pool of IP you own is so massive.

Where the f@%! is Craig? He's one of the CN's biggest characters in the new-age era. His show has 5 seasons, a spinoff and a movie, and he's put beside Finn the Human in Cartoon Network promotional material, yet I rarely see him brought up. He's a glaring missing part of the roster. You're good for Black Hat though.
I'm not very familiar with the shows, but from what I researched on him I couldn't find material I thought was interesting enough to build a moveset around. CN already had so much to rep that a lot of big shows ended up not being feasible here.

i think the type of game multiversus is with a continuous development, echo or clone fighters wouldn't be quite nice idea, but on Gwen and Ben characters i would rather have the og versions(probably on the minority here but oh well), mostly because og Gwen would have more virety with the magic spells, and the original 10 aliens work well for a ben moveset, maybe for the other ben 10 variants we could get the character created only for these series (af, omni, reboot, ua) like Reinrassig III or rook.

All the Teen Titans would make incedibly awesome and unique characters, probably won't happen for a show that ended 18 years ago but a man can dream. It's scary how many shows and franchises Warner is ruining without even sweating, they have the power to make the best of the best but they take the greedy path and no one talks about it.
Edit: I can't believe you didn't pick Muscle Man or Pops for an announcer pack. Also Marceline, Plastic Man and Joker would make for great packs as well. I just hope Mark Hamill makes an exception if they ever decide to make Joker a character just so we can have Batman and Joker against each other one last time.

'course, with how things are unfolding IRL with RWBY, the example is a bit moot i suppose. i mean, i'd absolutely be playing Ruby and Yang if they played as you describe but with them probably being dumped, put my boy Freddy in there!
I'm not saying that Fred couldn't or shouldn't be playable, but part of the charm of Fred's traps is that they're so overly complicated, and I couldn't figure out a way to make that in a moveset, especially one as... simplistic as Multiversus' are.
Plus, even as a massive Scooby fan... I think it'd be funny to have Fred be represented in other ways (such as an announcer pack) since, imo, he's kinda the most expendable member of the gang.
I love Fred though so I wouldn't be upset if he got added.
@@TheNerdIncarnate yeah, i could see coming up with traps that are faithful but not overly complicated being an issue what with the Rube Goldberg style traps often used. however there's usually a handful of mechanics or specific traps that get used semi-frequently, a trip rope, a drop cage, a trampoline that bounces monsters into the next part of the trap, even things like bags of flour or a bucket of water. i'd say Fred's potential moveset strength would absolutely be taking a bunch of the more simple parts of his grander traps, making them the moves available to him, and then allowing the player to set up mini Rube Goldberg style traps with the tools available.
maybe something like the enemy getting bounced off of a trampoline (also would be Fred's recovery option) directly into a hanging bag of flour for a debuff, Fred hits with a few basic attacks and tries to force the opponent onto a grease puddle that slides them into a trip-wire set up on the stage edge that spikes downward if the enemy touches it at an adequate speed.
also, while i'm here and spewing nonsense about fake Scooby Doo platform movesets. i'd actually make Scooby his own playable character, make him a tank to round out the Scooby Gang's class representation, then give Scooby specials that have him avoiding/negating damage through acts of cowardice, like a Black Knight disguise that functions like Kirby's stone transformation, a dash attack where he's hiding in a barrel like he does in the opening/the Charlie the Robot episode, having cameo monsters pop up and scare him into a cowering animation but acting as walls while they stand on either side of him protecting himself/teammates from damage, and of course the wind-up run complete with the sound effect. because having him as part of Shaggy's move set kind of robs Scooby of his potential in a game like this. Shaggy's kit itself is, a little basic and based on a dead meme, so it could use some re-tooling but wasting Scooby's potential by folding him into it isn't the way to fix that problem, i think.
yes, having 5 characters of representation is a lot, even in a roster of, like, 100 characters.. but it serves 2 purposes, the first being that the Scooby Gang is consistently one of WB's most iconic an profitable franchises and so more rep is probably fine as long as the releases are spread out amongst DLC seasons so as to not frontload it, and the second being that with one member each representing a character class (assuming my hypothetical moveset ideas for Fred and Scooby and yours for Daphne) they'd make for a great introductory/baseline character for each of the classes, well, for the most part Fred would probably be a bit complicated with the trap setting as the main focus compared to someone like Bugs but eh.
