Gremlins is definitely a big enough franchise to get a character slot. You can rarely go into any Halloween themed store without seeing a mountain of Gremlins merchandise. But, it definitely didn’t deserve a second character.
I think that it s just a difference in region, most people in Europe either dont know about it or dont care but i should have researched more about it in America
I wouldn’t say all that honestly. Gremlins definitely has a name but it’s not even popular to where it’s worth decorating a store with Gremlins items and etc😂
@@MrFoFlat but, stores do decorate themselves with Gremlins merchandise. Like, the Halloween stores I’ve been to are covered with the stuff alongside The Nightmare Before Christmas and Beetlejuice.
@@firstwaddledee9182 Nightmare before Christmas a seasonal movie so it makes sense and Beetle Juice is coming out with another movie this year so that make sense too. But Gremlins is outdated. I know they had like a show planned for 2023 but got delayed. But having a store decorated with a movie that came out before I was even a fetus is crazy ngl.
@@MrFoFlat are you just baffled by the concept of Gremlins being plastered all over stores, or are you trying to argue that I’m lying? I hope it’s the first one but I can’t quite tell. Either way, even if Gremlins hasn’t been doing much recently it still has left a huge impact on pop culture. Almost everyone I know knows at least one of the rules of the gremlins including people like me who have never seen any of the movies.

@@TheReZisTLustYea they used the “Beta” title to hide behind the fact that the “Beta” was the full release. Think about it what Beta do u know have microtransactions, battle passes, seasons, and not to mention the “Beta” went on for almost a WHOLE year☠️
Now I will say hiding behind “Beta” was a smart idea to use as an excuse to shut the game down and relaunch the next year. But anyone with common sense can tell that they was tryna go a Fortnite route.

@@MrFoFlat that makes no sense. they made it a beta to see feedback and what they could work on. nothing was stopping them from releasing the game finished but they chose to say beta meaning they had plans to close it.
Gremlins did recently come out with an animated series, so I’m guessing they wanted to promote that. And Gremlins was one of the most popular movies in the 80’s, which is when the devs grew up in lol
not sure if its because im european but even as someone who likes gremlins i had no clue that there was a show coming out, even so really dont think they were good additions. Just purely marketing wise, if their goal was to promote the show it certainly didnt work for me. Thanks for letting me know though.
@@claodsI don’t really see how they’re bad picks, good legacy characters for WB. Not sure every single character must be 100% relevant. Adding 2 is also because they like to stick to the duo aspect of the game

When they released gizmo and stripe ot made me want to watch gremlins. I never really knew about it, so I don't think adding characters like that is a bad idea
i hope when it does come back at the end of the month it really is all fixed up and it last for years to come, because i really really like it

They added Gizmo and Stripe because of the same reason they added Black Adam, cross promotion. They made a show called "Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai" that was released around when Gizmo and Stripe came out.
i get that but what i was trying to say is that i think they didnt bring any new people to the game and considerering the fact that i had no clue a show was coming out i still think they were bad additions
@@claods I do feel the same, like you said, Gremlins hasn't made anything new besides that HBO Max show in a long time. My honest assumption is that it was a corporate mandate and they had to add them.

You brought up the character rotations and now i remember why I stopped playing.
I mained Garnet and got here to lvl 20 or so. I earned enough gold to unlock a character, so I did. Soon after, Garnet was taken out of rotation and was locked. She was still lvl 20, but now I couldn't use her in matches. I was just done after that.
So you earned enough gold for a character and instead of unlocking them unlocked someone else and then quit when the free trial ended?
@@TheReZisTLust I guess I didn't look hard enough, cause I couldn't find an unlock for free characters. I played the new character, but kept running into server issues. So I just gave up.
Well, that's a dumb reason for quitting. You could've just bought garnet instead. And if you couldn't because of the trial, you should have waited till it ended
I can understand this but it wasn't that hard to grind up the gold to unlock a character. I got all the characters free with gold.

This game was in every sense of the word a beta at the time. It still popped off hard and the only reason it seemed to lose popularity was because they had to stop putting out content. They already knew they were gonna have to start over on unreal engine 5 which is why they never bothered to release the joker despite fully planning to do so. They realized they're just going to redo everything anyway so why keep updating this beta version. This game did not fail. It was a massive success which is why it's getting this huge rework.

The reason why they work on non hyped characters is that they need this popular characters to be launched over time, otherwise in 1 or 2 years they will be launched all populars characters and that will be a problem for the future.
one of my pet peeves is when a person lables a beta a full release, MVS is not re-releasing but fully releasing :D, cool vid tho and nice editing

I don’t play platform fighters, always get destroyed by friends when we play smash 😂 but multiverses was fun. I hope it has an awesome comeback. I always did like that you can play as teams in platforms fighters unlike standard ones.
I mean I understand why people were upset it was closing down but honestly it was said at the beginning to only be a beta and would close if people didn’t understand that is on them
They should add bran stark as a dlc character who functions like Pokémon trainer. He sits in the background and you could warg between Hodor, Summer, and a teenage dragon

The games full release was not in July, that was it's open beta. The full release is 5-28-24

Personally to me, the character rotations was bad. I’m used to brawlhalla. I have 4k hours on steam and still don’t own even half of the roster of characters. I like the grind to get characters personally

This has been mentioned before but the Gremlins is a very recognisable franchise, I don’t think there’s anything weird about them being added?
On another note, pretty decent video! A lot better than what I excepted for a channel as small as yours but I’d recommend working on your editing and having more things going on, an animated character or something similar would work really well when there’s a lot of dead space on screen

I dont think it was a cash grab since it was free, most micro transactions were just cosmetic and others could be unlocked free with time, the items werent even that expensive compared to other free games, they might just need more money to keep development

I don't see a problem with having some better in 2v2 and others better in 1v1s, some character suck in 1v1 but kick ass in 2v2s

No, I'm sorry, the game looks WORSE than it did before when it was in it's """beta""" state. The characters are enormous and they move like they're fighting underwater. The hitstun turns characters who are knocked back into what looks like floating PNGs being dragged across the screen by a mouse cursor. It looks like every change they made is ultimately for the worse, and to top it all of PFG is doing the absolute bare minimum to market this game, just hoping the audience they burned last time will blindly flock back to it. The reputation of MVS from the outside looking in is horrible, every combo vid they post on Twitter gets absolutely roasted for it's sluggish speed and hitstun, and PFG isn't doing anything to convince people who aren't already invested due to sunk cost fallacy that it's going to be a success.
the marketing as been horrible but i really dont think it looks that bad, especially efter the joker reveal it looks like they made the game much faster but hey, we can only really know when it releases.

totally get that, its hard to find the right balance, as someone with almost 500 hours in the game its hard to remember and not take for granted all the great things about it. I also mention in the video that it was just a beta.
Its wild people get mad it was temporarily closed and that's just how modern gaming is sadly. They overall ignored the message saying it was a beta and say it rose or fell when that's not the case 😅
