- If you are a Cricut or Silhouette crafter who loves using glitter HTV, you can achieve a similar effect with screen printing. While there are glitter inks on the market, most of these are plastisol inks that require a different screen mesh and equipment to cure the ink.
I have found that this glitter additive will work with water-based Speedball ink, allowing you to screen print with your basic Speedball frame. The glitter dries in the ink and has held up great in the wash.

This is amazing. I wonder how well this one will wash and hold up versus the last glitter project you showed us. It looks beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing 💕
So far, it's holding up so much better than my other glitter attempts. I haven't noticed any of the glitter coming off.
Hi there I use the same method to screen print at home and run my t shirt businesses but when it comes to glitter I just buy water based glitter inks (not speedball) and they work fine... Just an option for those starting out. Nevertheless another amazing video from you x
Could you possibly do a video with screen printing mugs?
This looks amazing!!! Thanks for all the videos.
Great idea.
Love what you do!
Thanks so much!
Excellent
I bought your e-book on screen printing and have done two projects successfully. Would love to try the glitter additive. Can I buy a silver or mother of pearl color and add it to any color speedball ink, or do I need to buy red glitter for red ink and do on?
So glad to hear you are successfully screen printing! They all mix a little differently so you may need to experiment with a small batch. I like the look of the glitter mixed with a similar color ink, but that's just my personal preference. If you discover any good combos, I'd love to hear about them!
Amazing work. But which chemical mix with glitter. Please help me.
It’s just glitter mixed into the Speedball fabric ink (amzn.to/2IGsQUV)
Another great video. Can you machine wash? - What temperature when heat pressing it?
Yep! I heat set it the same as my other projects - 320 for 40 sec.
Can you wash and reuse the stencil as many time as you'd like? And what washer and dryer settings do you use to wash all your fabrics?
You will want to take the vinyl design off to wash your screen. I don't use any special settings for my screen printed shirts... just throw them in with the regular wash on normal settings!
OMG!! Awesome. how does it hold up in wash???
So far it has held up great!
What is the glitter to ink ratio
Whoop - I love Glitter Screen Printing!
Think this is not qualified for washing ... this speedball base is not strong enough to hold the glitter. Curious, if you had better/different results.
I've washed my glitter projects several times and it's holding up great. I think the key is the type of glitter you use. This particular one worked great!
Pigskins & Pigtails Glad to hear that Speedball holds the glitter well. One more possibility to #printandhavefun 💯 😁
What is the difference between glitter paint additive and regular glitter? Just curious
The glitter additive is really fine and I feel like it sticks to the ink better than regular glitter. I tried a regular glitter a while back and it didn't hold up as well in the wash.
Please can I use this ink on cardboard box?
I haven’t tried it, but that should work fine! Speedball makes acrylic ink that is designed for projects like that: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/speedball-acrylic-ink
@@pigskinsandpigtails Thanks a lot
How long do you heat press with glitter time & temperature
I heat set at 320 for 40 seconds to cure the Speedball ink.
Where did you get your screen to get the paint with the additive to go through? I bought the holo glitter additive in the same brand and the glitter seems to stay on the screen.
The screen is the basic Speedball frame: amzn.to/2XNbedD
Did you get the microfine glitter additive?
@@pigskinsandpigtails ok I have the speedball frame as well. I'm not sure how to tell the size of the glitter.
On peut mettre n’importe quel paillette
The glitter needs to be untra fine to go through the mesh
