Like the idea of using registration marks and the blue tape.
Thanks! Such an easy way to align your design 😁
I just seen another great idea what your registration marks for your tape you can measure the center of your shirt and put the marks according to the measurements of on your screen print cut out that way you can line up the screen print to the exact measurements where you want to place the screen so you can apply.
So your tape ends up also being an alignment aid.
I just purchased your kit, did my first screen printed shirt and I am in love with the process! White on a coloured shirt!!!😂
🙌 Way to go! I’d love to see your work, if you share it be sure to tag me 😊
Thank you! What a great and informative video. I love the tip on using blue tape for registration marks. Thanks again!
Glad it was helpful!

Thanks, I’m glad you found this video helpful!
Thank you
Thanks for watching!
Great video
Thanks!
I do htv at the moment as I just started my business but I'm definitely gna try this ou t now
I hope you do! I started with HTV too and once I got into screen printing there was no going back! 😁
Does this process work on mugs and tumblers? If yes, what is the base of colours I should use? And do I need to bake them after? Thanks in advance
I haven’t found the best material or way to screen print on rounded glass or ceramic yet. Right now my go to is engraving 😁 ruclips.net/video/NUsmDe0ITHw/видео.html
This good idea
Thanks!
best greatest video ever
🙌 Thank you!!
Hi! I already have a speedball set and a couple of jars of ink. I would like to purchase the ink mixing guide. Is this sold separately?
Yes! You can purchase the guides individually or as a bundle here: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/ink-recipe-guides/
Hello kawan sangat bagus sekali hasilnya salam sukses
Thank you!
Can you reuse the vinyl on the screen again another day after you've taken it off the screen to clean the paint off?
When you wash the screen, the vinyl will probably come off. If you have a design that you know you are going to use over and over- check out this video to see how I use HTV to make a permanent screen that I can wash and reuse: ruclips.net/video/w_A1V5IUM5Y/видео.html
shorty made the off white logo at 8:46
Hola saludos no se tu idioma pero entendí todo lo que explicas gracias desde chile ❤
😊
Could you add glitter to the paint? You made this so that this old lady can even do this!!! Thank you. p.s. you look more like you could be one of your daughters instead of their mother. You go girl!
Oh my gosh, thanks! 😊
Yes, you can add glitter to the ink. Here is a project where I did just that: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/2020/02/adding-glitter-to-speedball-screen-printing-ink/
Hi i really appreciate how you teaching you so good then i want to know if i can use epson to do what ever design i want
I love screen printing because it’s so versatile, but I also use sublimation when I have a design just doesn’t work with vinyl. Check out this video where I talk about different sublimation printer options: ruclips.net/video/Jm90fBU4moI/видео.html
Obviously the screens as reusable but silly question... are the vinyls?🤔 or do you have to cut a new one every time? What if you want to re do a tshirt design you made before?👕
With this process, you can make a bunch shirts with the one piece of vinyl. However when you are done, you can’t reuse the vinyl. If you have a design that you know you will reuse often, you can make a permanent screen with HTV: ruclips.net/video/5BRAjib74cA/видео.html
@@pigskinsandpigtails thank you!😊 I'm brand new to ALL of this, your videos are so helpful! Another silly question... what is HTV? 😂
@@sondrabrito5208 HTV is heat transfer vinyl
@@ashleyk9209 I had a feeling, but wanted to be sure!😂 Thank you so much for ALL your videos... I'm slowly watching them one by one! 😉😍

Nice video. Have you tried to push the ink thru from the inside of the shirt (I forget the term)? I saw that in a different video but scared to try it.
Not yet!
Can the mixed pain be saved for future projects in a separate container?
Yes! As long as it’s in an air tight container it will last a long time
@pigskinsandpigtails thank you so much! Do you have any recommendations?
Veary Nice video
Thanks!
How much will all cost, I wanted to other some from you, am from Ghana
How do you make the registration marks?
I add the registration boxes to my design in Cricut Design Space before cutting my vinyl. I go through this process step by step in my Online Course: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/introduction-to-screen-printing-with-craft-vinyl-course
Hello, could you reuse to vinyl? after you have rinsed to the screen or do you have to get more vinyl and cut it out if so where would you just get vinyl by its self?
If there are fine details, most of the time cleaning/rinsing the screen will start to lift these areas. I recommend cutting a new design. Here is the Oracal 651 vinyl that comes in the kit: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/oracal-651
I have followed the same process. But my second shirt's print is faded, the 3rd shirt is way too faded. Can you tell me how to avoid this, I think the ink on the screen is drying, but I dont know how to not let it dry.
When you are making multiple prints, it’s important to have all of your material lined up and ready to go so you can print as quickly as possible. As soon as you finish a print, you can “flood” the screen with ink to extend the working time. To do this, lift the screen and go over one time with your squeegee to completely cover the design in a layer of ink (going over twice may cause the ink to bleed on your next print). Also, be sure to prop up this screen as you move to the next so that the ink doesn’t smudge!
I am having so much trouble getting my vinyl to remain adhered to my screen when removing the transfer sheet. Even making it less tacky or using masking tape is a waste of time. Not sure what else to do. So sad
What kind of vinyl and transfer tape are you using? That can make a big difference. Check out this video for more on the types of vinyl I use: ruclips.net/video/w_A1V5IUM5Y/видео.html
Me too. It’s why I don’t use my screen printing kit 🥴
Hy how can I get the kit I'm from Nigeria
You can find the kits on Amazon, I’m not sure about availability in every country though: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/speedball-deluxe-kit
Hello, so totally new at this but I am wondering why parchment paper isn't required when using the heat press. I hope this isn't a stupid question.
The ink needs to be completely dry before you heat set it (ideally 24-48 hours after you print it). Because it is dry parchment paper is not necessary.
Lord. I have to rewatch. I got confused in the beginning (it's me, not you). Is your heat press a Cricut or from that HTV company?
In this project, I heat set one of the designs with a Cricut Easy Press and other with an iron. Any brand will work, as long as you set it to the correct time and temperature.
How did u get the dots on there
Those are the registration boxes- I go over that in my Beginner’s Course: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/introduction-to-screen-printing-with-craft-vinyl/
The transfer tape is pulling apart my design, is there a specific type of vinyl that I'm suppose to be using?
I recommend using Oracal 651 vinyl. The right transfer tape makes a huge difference though, this is the one that I use: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/my-transfer-tape
i have a question, i dried the water based ink but when i tried to apply the other screen it didnt match because the shirt shrunk a little, do you know how i can fix this?
For this process, you only need to dry the ink to the touch (not completely). That way when you place the second screen, the ink will not stick to the vinyl. I use a heat gun and just go over lightly for about a minute
Do you not need to cover the design before applying the heat source?
No, as long as the ink has properly air dried you do not need to cover it
I bought a Speedball kit and mine didn’t come with the booklet with the “recipes” for making other colors. Is there a place online I can get it?
My Ink Recipe Guide sample comes with the Deluxe Kit: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/speedball-deluxe-kit
If you purchased this kit, let me know and we’ll get the guide to you! If you purchased a different kit, you can get all of my Ink Recipe Guides separate here: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/ink-recipe-guides/
Is that grey vinyl heat transfer or just standard circuit vinyl?
Thats Oracal 651 vinyl: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/oracal-651
What type of printer are used ..??
A printer isn’t necessary for this process! I use a vinyl cutting machine (like a Cricut) to cut the vinyl. Here is a link to my screen printing supply list with all of the essentials: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/screen-printing-supply-list/
So you don’t even need a heat press?
No, a heat press isn’t necessary! If you are printing on fabric, it does need to be heat set before it can be washed though (here are some options): ruclips.net/video/YyfkqFtd76A/видео.html
What is a vinyl cutter and where should i get it from
A vinyl cutter is a machine that will cut out your design on all kinds of materials (including vinyl). You can find my favorite machines linked on my screen printing supply page here: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/screen-printing-supply-list/
Thank you for the reply, but could you just use a more simple tool to cut the vinyl@@pigskinsandpigtails
Please what is the name of people that are selling the material in the market
This is a kit from Speedball
How many shirts can you do with it?
As many as you need! I’ve printed over 200 with this method before and could have kept going!
Hello can you screen print the offset of your design
Yes! Check out this project where I used the Offset feature in Cricut Design Space: ruclips.net/video/fhdjLbBEOo8/видео.html
Thank you
👏👏👏👏
speedball is a good quality ink ,Vinyl is fine with water based ink , not so good with plastisol. the clean down melts the Vinyl. Use sunlight stencils you dont even need the screen
The great part about using vinyl on a screen (instead of directly onto the blank) is that you can easily make multiples. When you go to clean your screen, simply peel off the vinyl before cleaning the screen!
Would it be helpful to add a mark above the design and below the design to use as reference to know where the center is and then aligning that with the shirt’s label
Yes, especially if you are printing a large run of shirts. I have a section that covers my “dot trick” in my course: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/introduction-to-screen-printing-with-craft-vinyl/
You dont need vinyl or a vinyl cutter if you have an inkjet printer just go get transparent paper and print your design on that so much easier and less expensive speedball makes that paper too
This method is inexpensive and works great for me. The vinyl holds up really well, plus I love being able to get as many prints as I need out of one screen
@@pigskinsandpigtails im just addressing everyone that can afford a vinyl cutter
You still need emulsion this is a better option for people that work with vinyl
Emulsion kind of scares me. I'm used to vinyls right now
Exactly, cant be bothered with emulsion
How do you get the registration marks on your own design?
I add the registration boxes in Cricut Design Space before I send the vinyl to cut. I go over this process in detail in my online course 😃 www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/introduction-to-screen-printing-with-craft-vinyl/
Where can one find the syringes?
Amazon has them.
I have them linked in my Amazon storefront: a.co/4OVl1og
@@pigskinsandpigtails thanks
You call it ink. Is it actually ink or is it fabric paint? Confused
When screen printing, you want to be sure to use fabric ink. It’s water based (just like fabric paint) but designed for screen printing onto fabric. Paint will dry and clog your screen too quickly, so I do not recommend. Here’s a link to the Speedball fabric ink I’m using in this video: www.pigskinsandpigtails.com/a/speedball-fabric-ink
@@pigskinsandpigtails Oh yep thankyou
Is the ink safe for septic tanks?
I’m not 100% sure but I am on a septic and have had no issues over the years of using Speedball ink.
✌️🇨🇦
Way over simplified! Screen printing is a pain unless you have all the equipment.
That’s why I love screen printing with vinyl! Learn more about my process here: ruclips.net/video/FxZ_FuFSvTw/видео.html
@@pigskinsandpigtails you need a lot more equipment $$$& and it is difficult to get ink to set.
❤
Hello liked youre video 🎉 very nice and informative. Can this screen printing be done on 100% organic cotton or it’s not for 100% cotton. ❤ I’ll appreciate if you’ll answer .
Yes! One of the great things about screen printing is that you can print on so many materials, including 100% cotton
