It's actually insane to me that I can buy a house for what I'm about to pay for a car in the US. I am under very serious consideration of stopping buying this car and pocketing the money to take to Russia and finally have a place I can call my own. I've always rented and never dreamed I would own a home. It appears the American dream is dead, but the Russian one is just beginning. I've been to Russia and I love it. But I really never thought I'd actually live there. Guess I'm gonna have to start taking Russian lessons.

@@mikeunt44 World Bank has updated the world’s GDP at purchasing power parity (PPP) The organization estimates that Russia is among the world’s top economies. Russia became the world’s fourth-largest economy, ahead of Japan. Russia also became the first country in this list of Europe, ahead of Germany. The GDP data presented are based on official country data published by the World Bank and IMF in purchasing power parity terms. The PPP was introduced in the 30 years of the 20th century into the practice of statistics in the UK to objectively assess the defense potential of countries. Nominal GDP simply indicates who has more money. GDP by PPP shows precisely the SIZE of the economy in a particular country. This indicator will be the most objective in determining the rating of the state economy. But, as we all see, money is not smeared on bread, and do not full the tank. It is the physical availability of goods and services that is important. And therefore GDP on PPPs is much more important.
For example, Russia has one of the lowest electricity tariffs. It is almost ten times lower than in the UK, four times lower than in continental Europe, and twice lower than in the US. The cost of utilities is 5 times lower.
Russia has become one of the top three economies in the world with the lowest per capita public debt ($2,076). It also included India ($ 1,316 per person) and Indonesia ($ 1,747).
Over the past two years, Russia has built 100 million square meters of housing. Who bought them? Russians bought 26 percent more cars in 2023 than last year. Where did the money come from? Russia has built 2 billion square meters of housing in 20 years. Radio Svoboda - Russians spent 17 billion rubles on the AliExpress in one day. Where did the money come from?

In Russia, the dictatorship of conscience is a dictate of God and the Divine World.
Russia is now a capitalist society with authoritarian rule. The model of society called authoritarian social capitalism is being built.
It is dangerous not to have an opinion and a powerful counterweight... Never trust the world community if your country has oil - or at least something (from Colonel Gaddafi’s lessons for the world’s leaders). Although, if you are willing to be by managed resource, you have nothing to fear, what they will tell you - you will do! They will say to give - and you will to give , they will tell you die - and you'll die. And even you'll thank him for it...... that’s what a dictatorship is.
The Russian World focuses on the formation of Man as the God of Word, and neokons focuses on the formation of man - as the Slave of Sin - with all the resulting strategies for the formation of the "new man" and the "new world order".
As long as there are Russians, the world will not collapse.

The housing market is ridiculous. i've met many families who have sold their houses because of the Tax rates going up and mortgage recalculations too high to manage. They had to sell their house and move into a rental townhouse. AND they aren't alone. They are living with siblings, cousins. Anyone to reduce the cost of the rentals which is also absurd. Also, new Canadians (Ukrainians) having to rent with 4 adults in one house (2 couples) just to afford it! These are fully grown adults who have jobs, salaries, etc. All unable to afford to live in homes. We are NOT considered an 'expensive' city. It's crazy.

I want to add very important thing to foreigners. Just imagine that you have 100.000$ You could buy a house for 40.000 and put other 60.000 in our bank in rubles. Right now they offer 20% in rubles. So, you could have enough income for a family of three for a year to prepare your life here without necessity to get a job. Learn language, do all papers, find a good job and only than begin to work. This is a good opportunity now. I doubt that this will last long.

I'm in Canada (climate pretty much like Siberia really, we LOVE the Boreal forests).
I could buy the wood to build a 9x10 Cedar shed BunkHouse (to build myself) for $7,000. (for just 23,000 more could buy a house and land in Russia).
I could buy a lot to build a house on for about $350,000 (they won't let us live in a shed though).
I could buy an apartment coffin for about $380,000---$530,000 (with monthly maintenance fees of $400/month, $200/month heating, water $50-100/month, plus taxes of $150-200/month). So just to live in an apartment coffin you own it would be at least $700-800 a month in fees, heating, water.
If the gov't comes up with more climate change taxes you'd be paying even more.
Land and a house like the first one you show here would be $1,200,000-$1,500,000 if it was slightly outside of town. Taxes and fees of course go up also.
Canada is certainly not worth these prices.

Мои 5 центов. Учитывать! 1.

You should also consider the people with less budget. Many single young people are looking for an alternative life away from the hamster wheel of the west. Can a small land be bought with 5k and a house under 15k ?

St Augustine Florida the average house is 400 thousand dollars. Young people can't afford to buy a house..those interior doors and hardware are very expensive in the states .Maybe show the pay scale of the different careers , trades and so on , thanks .

The second house would be perfect for me. 10 acres so you could still build more on the property. Do you remember where this property was?

10 acres is the bad translation of «сот» which is 100 m2. 10 acres is 404 sot, or 4 hectare, which is probably zoned as agricultural land, which means that only a Russian citizen can buy it.

@@peterwilliams2152 кроме покупки земли можно оформлять долговременную аренду участка до 49 лет с последующим выкупом. За эти годы можно легко стать гражданином либо продать (переуступить право аренды за деньги) этот участок

In my area of Sweden you can buy a house for US$25000 and there are areas even cheaper. But in Stockholm a 18 m2 apartment costs at least 150000 it's all about the location.
The problem right now is that it's very difficult to transfer funds to buy anything in Russia.
And Krasnodar is not immune from the affects of SMO.

But the problem anywhere in the states is always the same: when houses are cheaper it’s probably because it’s in a poor school district and your neighbors are kind of sketchy

I live near Irkutsk city in Russia. My house with land is around $350k-$400k (luxury village). Taxes are around 50$ per year.
Household utilities are around $20 in summer, $60-$80 in winter.

I must admit it's quite high. We have quite a big plot with 2 Houses worth 3-400.000 dollars with interest rate 1.75 %. We pay only 400 dollars a month to the bank. I don't think we need a big flat or House but more like a modern one with a good quality. Might take some time to find, presumably with start next year.
Thank you, Sonja! I love to hear from you and Dan.
