Teacher of English as a Second or Other Language (ESOL). Hopefully on the list! My question is, what are the best (legal!) ways of bringing and/or transferring money from the UK to Russia? I guess bringing Pounds Sterling and US Dollars is not a good idea?
My husband and I were born in the USSR then immigrated with our parents to the USA. Now looking to potentially return. Thankfully we know the language and are teaching our children.
Do it now, while you can. I was born and lived a big part of my life in Leningrad ( hate that name!)/ St Petersburg. Moving to the US and adapting to everything new, including language, was tough! Now, I think, I’m reliving my UssR life, in the US. The scene reversed. I would go back in a heartbeat (My predecessors lived in StPete since1703). But my American family wouldn’t hear of it. Kiss my beloved Russia’s ground for me, when you get there!
I worked in Russia over ten years ago for Lukoil through an American oil company. I would love to go back again. I'm a petroleum engineer with a master's degree and 25 years experience. And I'm also a computer programmer and cybersecurity specialist. I speak Russian fluently. Contact me if you can get me back there. I do NOT want to go back to my country (USA)!
I have worked as Electrical superintendent and engineer in Kazakhstan,Armenia, Bosnia and Mongolia. I worked with many Russian workers and trained many people. Russians are hard workers
Exactly the same btw, planning on moving to Russia. And I got basic knowledge as well. 😃 Now, there is a problem due to current western cloud services being banned in Russia. I guess we will need to adapt.
my friend, I had to leave Russia, because I could not find job in Russia. I had to move to the USA. But after I get naturalized I better move to some places with the better climate than the USA. Russia is freaking cold, 6 months of snow!
In history, when russians fled from Russia to the West and Europe, technology developed very well because of their contribution. Now Russia needs scientists, who knows, maybe someone from Europe or USA will come to Russia and become famous, contributing to the treasure trove of the country's development
True, the helicopter was invented by a russian. Still, Soviet science was actually at a very high level. We in the West use the processes developed by some Soviet scientists. And russia has advanced beyond the west in missile tech. Actually the US government was in panic under trump, trying to fund our own missile tech because we saw that we were falling behind. So I wouldn’t say Russia is dependent on western scientists.
There's a lot to be said for soft power, and we (the US) are burning ours as fast as we can. Bullying, thieving, impoverishing, suppressing, sabotaging, invading, and doing things I can't mention here. We print money to make others pay for our greed. We're turning intelligent foreigners away in our racist paranoia. We govern with faith instead of thought, and corruption instead of principles. None of this is sustainable. If Russia can attract capable people who want to make a difference, they'll be on the rise as the US collapses.
Let me contribute to the discussion from a point of view of a Russian citizen. For the longest time in the USSR everything was state owned and state-operated. As a result many people lost the will to do anything on their own. There is a saying from these times "an initiative is punishable". Those times long gone. The government openly says "we need more initiatives from the people". "We want to support entrepreneurs as much as possible". But deep inside many Russian people there is still a fear of "fulfilling your own idea into life" sitting. Its getting better very rapidly. Especially the younger people no longer have this "stopper" in their minds. So the best thing a westerner can bring to Russia now - is that free will to create and make a difference. Yes, you will see at the same time some resistance from the elderly generation, and some competition from the younger people all along. But for the time Russia is like an "empty field" for entrepreneurs. This "window of opportunities" will drastically close as older generation goes away and younger guys and girls come into play. Also as Russia now wants to become as self-sufficient as possible, not falling into dependence on China, many new modern spheres will be greatly supported by the Government
This is a master stroke imo. All those people who built North America? Check. Those people that have independence of mind that the locals might currently lack for historical reasons, check. People who are uncomfortable with Neo Commie 'paradises', check.
You are wrong in the question that in the USSR everything belonged to the state. The state in the USSR during the reign of Stalin shared the country's economy with the private sector, which represented a network of artelias (cooperatives) . The peasants were also provided with trade in products produced on their own land at collective farm markets . The artels produced almost the entire range of household goods , from shoes to televisions and receivers , for clarity , I will say so , the artels produced 30,000 types of products , the public sector produced 10,000 types of products . Khrushchev began the scrapping of the artel production method .
Right now I am cinema projectionist, over 10 years experience as a personal trainer will work anything that can afford me food and shelter by my self I also speak a bit of Russian.

Absolutely in Russia, cosmetologists are very much needed :))....99.99% of Russian girls are very beautiful :) and it is very difficult for them to be beautiful without a cosmetologist :).
Cosmetologists are in demand, for sure. But be ready for high level of competition. I don't know about US, but in Russian-speaking communities in Europe it's a common complain about cosmetology level compare to Russia/Ukraine/Belorussia.
Why is Russia so desperate for immigrants? Could it be so many Russians are dying in the war or fled. Why would people come to Russia to accept worthless rubles and terrible working conditions. Not to mention you have to learn Russian which as an international language is worthless.

I have a good knowledge of the processes of handling high tech and pharmaceutical and working with controlled temperature. From processing documents to driving forklift, the logistic is now my field.
Why would you ever leave Belarus!😢 Clean and organized on the Level of Japan and S. Korea but more laid back. If they had my sort of industry there, Belarus would be my number one choice!

Builders, engineers, architects of apartment buildings, private houses, office and industrial buildings - all this is needed now and will be in demand for a very long time, since Russia has many plans, large-scale projects for decades to come for the development of new territories (DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye, Kherson region, as well as Crimea), where, as you know, much has been destroyed not only by the war, but also by the absolute inaction of the Ukrainian authorities since gaining independence. The same applies to the construction of new roads and the repair of old ones in all these territories, which is already happening

People want more than a job. You need to show them the natural wonders and beauty that is in Russia. Show them what they will have access to explore and experience besides just a job. People don’t want to just exist ( job). People want to live by experiencing beauty, nature, and respect for life for all living creature. Great and small.
@@martianhammer you can't exist in Russia without a job unless you already have saving for life. Which most people do not have. A job is the first step for living in Russia, so job talk is especially important. The job system is very different from the west and it should also be communicated so westerners understand.. most of the people here who listed their jobs in the comments, these jobs are relatively low paying in Russia with some exceptions. Even things like doctors here aren't viewed (or paid) at the same raw value like in the west...westerners who move to Russia without vast savings will basically have to learn to live at a certain level of "poverty", it's a good life and nothing to feel bad about at all, but it's just the facts of life.

I also write, and am a photographer (the arts, as it were) but am willing to learn anything that will contribute in a positive way to the people and culture of Russia 🇷🇺 ❤
What sort of vocals? In Russia, the performing arts, are much more in demand than in the US. Depending on what your faith is, a lot of churches hire singers. Every city has several theaters. Opera, musicals are well attended. It’s just part of the culture. I am always surprised how many young people go to the theater for classical style music and shows. Your vocals will probably be the #1 useful thing. But I have seen that in Russia, they have taken a lot of their hospitality training from the west. The USSR was horrible in the hospitality industry, so there is probably some good opportunities for an entrepreneur with experience in the West.

Canadian here , living in Moscow , marry for 3 years. It depends where you find your wife , mine is from Yaroslavl, it's a religious city , she is very calm , no nonsense like you say , very serious. If your wife is from.Moscow or Saint Petersburg , they are very different , more free , I guess more western mentality , looking for rich guy who can take care of them , well even smaller girl from Villages , look for a guy with money. They see marriage for love but also and most importantly for protection. If you can't give them nothing , they will choose someone else , even if they love you. It is what I saw.. Russian wives are absolutely great , but for me has a Canadian my mentality is do different , Quick example : when we married my wife told me that man in Russia give their salary to their wife and wife control finance , I told her I don't want to do that.we had a lot of conflict about it in the first year. Until I start transferring a part of my salary to her. She calm down and now it's not a fighting subject..but be ready 😂😊

Please note, Russian wives are very demanding! They are smart, well-mannered, with a strong character, but caring and loyal. They are independent in their decisions and will not tolerate your irresponsibility or stupidity. But you still have to be the breadwinner and protector of the family. If you intend to pack your wife in Islamic rags, then forget it! Even Muslim women here are normal free people and can dress as they want!

@@irisroyal2764 To do this, you need to register with the tax office as self-employed and you will pay 4% taxes. That's it. It is very easy to register, you can do it remotely or come to the tax office in person.
Only foreigners with a temporary residence permit or a permanent residence permit can register as self-employed in Russia. Then get a Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) from the tax office. Once you have the TIN, you will need to register in the taxpayer account "My Account". At the end of the month, the service will calculate the amount of tax that needs to be paid. For convenience, you can link a bank card to your personal account - the tax will be written off automatically. It is important to adhere to the annual income limit - no more than 2.4 million rubles. Exceeding the amount will lead to the cancellation of the self-employed status. It is beneficial for foreign non-residents to be self-employed in Russia: they have access to benefits and subsidies from the state, they can take out loans from banks and receive discounts on rent. The following rates apply to self-employed non-residents: 4% - provide services to individuals; 6% - cooperate with legal entities or companies.

Hello! 🌹
I’m a professional vocalist but also have worked in the Hotel industry as general front desk and night auditor.
But I am passionate about learning Russian and my son and myself have been taking lessons here in Alaska.
My son is 14 and gifted in aviation.
@@vanfja
I sing everything (except opera lol, not classically trained in that) but I sing gospel or more modern Christian songs, also write my own. I can sing country, blues, jazz, pop, dance, folk, classic rock (eekish lol), but like 80’s Pat Benetar, Heart, the good stuff lol.
I would just LOVE to sing Russian songs and learn that from local musicians (as the western world has not exposed us to any of that 🫤), I am Christian above all else but love all genres that are fun and not negative or weird 🤭
@@Amba_Gyuwity I was dating a music producer in Russia a bit ago. Accent coaching related to vocals was a thing. Something we don’t think about in the US, but definitely important if you want to sing English songs and not sound like some heavy Russian accent. Something to think about.

Believe it or not, I find singing in a language helps me with my ability to retain and speak more effectively in the language.

wait for the list of countries where traditional values are violated from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Study the topic, the decision is serious. If you have GB citizenship and it is included in the list, it will be easier for you. At first, you need a financial cushion while you deal with documents, resolve the housing issue, learn the language, look for a job on headhunter.
In Russia its possible too.
I have taught Conversational English in Thailand, Vietnam and for six years, I did it in China. I'd LOVE to do it in Russia and I'd be willing to learn as much Russian as possible as I have with Thai, some Mandarin and a little Vietnamese. I think Russia DOES have a LOT of potential right now! 🙂

Putin is making me an offer I can't refuse. Doctor from Mozambique here, moved to Switzerland. I may very well try Russia, luckily I would find a job in a remote area, far away from a city, where they need doctors the most. I would definitely give my 101% respect to the locals and their costumes/values. Let us know what type of wives do Russian women make. Many say they are hard working and have a no-nonsense mentality, exactly what I need in my life.
Yeah Russian guys love foreigners coming to get their women especially after they've been fighting in Ukraine!
Russian wives are absolutely great , but for me has a Canadian my mentality is do different ,
Quick example : when we married my wife told me that man in Russia give their salary to their wife and wife control finance , I told her I don't want to do that.we had a lot of conflict about it in the first year.
Thank you Dan.Good news

Great information. Im from Norway. I actually have a successful business here, but I want to relocate. Im mostly interested to know about how to set up a business. Im not looking for a job but the legal setup for selfemploymen.
If you have experience running a business it’s totally applicable here
@@Wild-Siberia The legal step for self employment. Would you please explain more.
