I hope this video will be useful for those who plan to visit Russia at this time, for people who (like me) struggled with transferring money to or from Russia, and for those who wondered what life is like in the most sanctioned country in the world. 📍 More videos: ruclips.net/video/ILsj2LDl10U/видео.html - Life in Russia after sanctions - ULTIMATE journey through the east to the west ruclips.net/video/Rec-kWEZC_A/видео.html - How Russians Really Live : GREY SOVIET BUILDINGS EXPLAINED!
Excerpt : "While the United States and its closest allies in Europe and Asia have imposed tough economic sanctions on Moscow, 87 percent of the world's population has declined to follow us. "
*America is able to place illegal, unethical, and biased sanctions on any country that refuses to take America's order or any country that tries to punish America's illegitimate child Israel and America's violent NATO allies, and America places those sanctions by applying the power of its currency called U.S.Dollar, but American dollar is not even the property of America but it's a property of Zionist Jewish Rothschild family of The U.K and Germany. Many American companies like Google, Instagram, RUclips, Meta, Facebook, etc, are owned by Zionist Jews who have Russian, Ukrainian, German, British, and Polish backgrounds. Russian language is the second biggest language of Israel. Many Russian Jews who are not semetic have dual nationalities of Israel and Russia and Kremlin illegally and unethically allows them to leave Russia, to move to Israel, to keep dual nationalities of Russia and Israel, and to commit violent and non-violent crimes against Muslim individuals, against Muslim countries, against Palestinians, against Arab countries, against Arab Christians, and against the rest of the World, and recently Israeli Jews used Tajik militants to shoot down over 160 Russians during a concert at Moscow Theater. If Russia, North Korea, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Pakistan, Afghanistan, South American countries etc, want to avoid American sanctions then they will have to put their minds and hearts together to demolish American Dollar (USD), to create their own U.N, NATO, FATF, World Bank, IMF, Nobel Prize, UNESCO, I.C.C, and I.CJ plus they will have to close their air space, oceans, highways, and railway tracks for America, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, European Union, NATO member countries, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, Turkey, India, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Japan, South Korea, and Philippines.*

Eli, what a great video. People adapt, they find ways to continue. It's a shame such problems and issues turn up in the world, and are beyond most of our control. After all, we are all flesh and blood, we should be able to get on peacefully. Don't lose hope, and keep a sense of humour. Russia is a wonderful country (What little I visited), the people friendly and welcoming (The few I met). More people need to travel and have open minds, you find that we are all the same. Differences are not to be feared but welcomed, talk, and we can all find some common ground. Peace.
Grocery prices everywhere are higher than two years ago. Here in the US, my grocery costs have increased by 50%. Feeding a house full of teenage boys is now very expensive.
When governments print paper fiat currency, unfortunately this does happen. It doesn’t really help that we have the best economy in the world if we can’t buy the basic food stuff that we want, right?
Hi, I worked 2 years in Lipetsk between 2002-2004 and, I have unforgettable memories about Russia and people. Each time I watch your video I remember my friends and wonderful times with them. Thanks a lot, and I hope one day I able to visit Lipetsk again to find my lovely friends
I'm a Brit living in the UK and have just returned from 10 days in Russia. Everything Eli says is correct. I flew to Tallinn, Estonia and then took the coach to Saint Petersburg. I booked return coach travel before leaving UK as LuxExpress have a business base in Europe so cards work to pay them. The border at Narva/Ivangorod is pedestrian only so one coach drops you at the Estonian border crossing point and then another coach is on the other side of the river/bridge in Russia waiting to take you onwards. The advantage of this route is flights to Tallinn from UK are cheap and the return coach fare came to about £80. You also see a lot of the countries looking out the coach windows and the coaches were very comfortable with hot drinks, free bottled water and good Wifi. I stayed a couple of nights in SP and then took the train to Moscow which was a fantastic experience especially since on return I booked the Sapsan non stop train and the service in business class was awesome with breakfast part of the ticket. Train tickets were £59 going (economy class) and £95 returning (business class). Apart from wanting to see SP I stayed there for 2 nights to get a breather after the journey but I have known people get the train to Moscow as soon as they arrive on the coach in SP. If you do this it competes very well time wise versus flying to Turkey (from UK) and then taking a flight to Moscow. The flight option is also more expensive. One thing with the Yandex app for taxis you can go into the settings and select that you want to pay cash. I enjoyed every single minute of my time in Russia and the people I came into contact with were lovely and went out of their way to provide assistance when I needed it. Regarding the visa I was able to get an e-visa since I also hold an Irish (EU) passport. I applied on line and I received the e-visa after 3 days. It's valid for 60 days and the maximum stay is 16 days (for one visit) - remember day of arrival and day of departure count as days to the max 16 days. With the ramifications of the sanctions a trip takes some organising but it's well worth the effort. Also I was able to buy Roubles at a good rate from a company based in the UK.
Privet Eli, I really appreciate you making this vlog. I just stumbled on this somehow and kept watching. You are doing a good job of showing the reality in Russia.

Basic healthcare. It's atrocious in Canada. Unfortunately. Cost of labor vs quality is also not that good in Canada, especially when we are talking construction etc. Corruption is something that doesn't even exist in Canada compared to Russia. So here are points to Canada. Also people's genuine desire to help you is much more evident and common in Canada. Overall stability - military, economic, political is better in Canada. There are ideological differences - woke culture and laws in Canada vs censorship on anything regarding the people who hold power in Russia. Both are not good at all. But there are similarities too. Both countries struggle with their geographical positions, both have inhabitable areas, small population vs land size, dependency on natural resources, costly infrastructure etc.

@@pavelukraine4929As a person living in Western Europe and Russia, I can confirm that pensions are indeed small. On average, it is 200-270 euros. This is only enough for food, utilities and inexpensive clothing. I categorically disagree with prices and salaries. The average salary is 700-800 euros, but since transport, food, restaurants, services are cheaper, it is about 2000-2200 euros after taxes in Germany. Personally, I am more comfortable in Russia for 4000 euros than in Germany for 9000 euros. The standard of living is the same, but most services are better quality. Except for beer 😅
Thank you very much for all the details. I have been in Russia many times, but its been almost 10 years. The cities and people are great and exploring Russia was always wonderful. It's definitely a very unique experience!

Because the liar and war criminal Putin the aggressor is attacking Ukraine. Russia will lose and collapse and this stupid person is talking about restricting her passport.
As Americans we will never find peace. We have been invading countries and killing people who did nothing to us for every day of my 74 years, including the coup we did that created the war against the people of Donbas and backed authentic Nazis. I spend a lot of time in Ukraine and the only president who was popularly elected was the one the US staged the coup against and created to attacked on Russian speakers. It is pretty hard to find any war, assassination or rigged election that the US did not arrange.

Hello there! From Syria 🇸🇾 The third most sanctioned country in the world. I have stayed in Syria even after the beginning of the crisis even today! My experience with Syria with being sanctions imposed by the west. Has been highly difficult. The topics that said in the video like Internet were quite the same happening here. But we never banned any platform. The platform banned us. But us Syrians that stayed have power because we never left. We have fought through difficult times yet refuse to flee. That is something called power through us. Others fled. We stayed. We fought against the west powerfully and we succeeded. We will never forget. I love Russia and respect everything to them! 🇸🇾❤️🇷🇺

I just discovered this channel recently and subscribed immediately! It is amazing how broad Eli comes around many aspects of Russian culture and life in Russia in general. Im 30 years old from Denmark and i've spent my mid twenties studying Russian studies at the University of Copenhagen, where i had the chance to go on exchange twice to Ekaterinburg (2018) and Moscow (2019) respectively. I even lived for a short time (3 months) with my Russian ex girlfriend in Kaluga. My experiences in Russia have been so amazing and life changing both in terms of adapting (as well being welcomed) to a new culture and personal development. Russian people might seem a little cold at first, but as soon as you get to know them they can be the warmest, loyal and most affectionate people you will ever meet! The Russians i met were ordinary Russians (like the ones appearing in most of Eli's videos) with average-paid jobs, and despite their lack of privilege, these people would spent their free time borrowing their friends cars (or bicycles) to take me out on the countryside (Derevnya) and show me the beautiful nature of Mother Russia. They would as well spend a whole day showing me every metro station in the bigger cities, or take me to war museums while explaining Russian mentality. It's truly sad how Russia and its people are being displayed as enemies in Western media.. Keep up the fantastic work Eli! with your content you are creating the best diplomatic tool/bridge for Russian-interested foreigners to understand Russian culture and Russians on a deeper level - by also showing how powerful culture is and something that people can relate to on a mass level. Hope to go back one day! Peace.

First, I love your channel. Also, thank you for making these informative to your Western viewers. People like you will help save the world by helping us understand one another. God bless you, Eli, in your future endeavors.
We love you Eli and Russia from Kabul, Afghanistan. I can understand you since we also live under sanctions and that is affecting the lives of ordinary people who have nothing to do with politics and the authorities. I have no idea why politicians punish ordinary people for things they haven`t done. Unfortunately, we are all victims of politics at the end of the day.
Hello my friend. The purpose of sanctioning a country is for creating an atmosphere of difficult living. The west hope for an uprising in the sanctioned country. They always want someone who is obedient to the west's directive to be in power.

Unfortunately there will be no peace until Washington stops trying to crash Russia and take control of the resources. It was close to accomplishing that in the 90s but when Putin was elected he saved the country from destruction and the neocons have hated him ever since and created entire false narrative that everyone in the west has heard constantly since 2000. So Russia knows it will never be left alone so has disconnected from the US and its yapping puddle UK. For a long time Putin thought he could negotiate with the US but now there is finally realization that it will never happy so trade and any interaction with the west is useless and Russia has the largest trade pact in history as trading partners. Russia will not keep western tourists out but the US allows very few Russians to tour the US and eventually there will be bans on all BRICS member state citizens but BRICS represents the majority of world population, innovation, production and patents. Having most of the world trade in currencies not from the US is going to force the US to either destroy the majority of countries or learn to focus on the concerns of Americans instead of spending all their money on trying to be the world Hegemon. There are no other choices...leave other countries alone and trade with all as members instead of controlling the entire world, focusing on the making the lives better for average Americans who current lead more limited lifestyles than many other countries. Address the extreme poverty and crushing debt families have. The average family in the US has a lower standard of living then their parents did. With the extreme debt there is nothing left in family assets to give the children a leg up. The majority of Russians over 20 own their homes and have a degree with no debt. So young Russians travel a lot more and have a positive net worth. The average American 20 year old has debt that will never be paid off, The current generation of 20 something's will be the first generation of Americans who will never own a home or not have crimpling debt. If one lived an average life in the US vs Russia, there would be a dramatic difference in options, the Russia would like have a free home and only pay utilities, and $5/mo for high speed internet. They would not buy into subscription TV and its $200 a mo., but be an active participant in society because with in walking distance there is so much more to do than in the US that is free or very low cost so you do not see young adults watch tv unless in a pub with friends for a football game. or go to games or join a team. But there are a thousands other activities in every city. If one is bored in a Russian city they probably do not have a pulse. Where I typing this I am 10 minutes walking to 234 drama theaters, 550 English style pubs with good food and live music in many of them, 13,000 4-5 star rated restaurants of every national cuisine one could imagine(Trip Advisor visitor ratings, a dozen ballet theaters, 473 museums, 184 are major world class museums, more cruising canals than Venice, dozens of poetry venues, dance clubs, social clubs beaches, open air dance, many jazz clubs many art museums parks that are open all day and night...600 of them, safe beautiful and zero crime. and much more. And almost all free...the rides in the amusement parks cost...lectures. One feature not found in the west is simple socalizing anywhere and never having a hostile reaction, people get a long and males and females like each other and treat each other with respect. That is something that died a long time about in the west. And none of this requires a car. Public transportation is great, cheap frequent goes where you want to go, and Taxis are cheap . I would wager a great deal that one out on foot in the cities here would be a heck of a lot more fun, safer, much cheaper, and stress compared to anyplace you offer from the west

We need the american people but they don't seem to realise that. Brought up by hollywood in fantasyland: marvel comics and the wild west and fundamental christianity they only ever seem to plead for a saviour. they want someone - 'someone' to 'do something'. they want civil wars over which someone it will be... they just don't seem to get it: the answer lies with them. they need to run their own country as they are supposed to do in a democracy. they need to wake up, smarten up, real quick. there is a way: abrogard.com/blog/2023/12/25/dont-write-to-congress/ these tools would be adaptable to the purpose, perhaps are all ready right now: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open-source_voting_system

I hope to visit Russia again soon - if only to have coffee in Cafe Zinger in Dom Knigi on Nevsky Prospekt in St. Petersburg, and look across at the magnificent Kazansky Sobor. The information you provided is super helpful. Желаю Вам успехов!
Thank you so much for making this video. As the situation changes, time passes, and things progress… what’s already transpired develops into the inevitable… our ability to connect on a basic human level is going to be incredibly important for all of us. Side note commission of 50% is something nobody should ever have to get used to. 🕊️
I have Russian friends here in Europe. Their skills are so outstanding they’ve been brought here. And what you are showing is literally what they are telling me. They even invited me to see Russia by myself to discover people and the culture. Honestly, I am super bitter because all this current context isn’t belonging to us, people and by that I mean citizens of the world… If there were no politics and social engineering we’d certainly see more « humanity » and just human beings bonding.
Please allow me to correct you. Russia spans two continents: one part is in Europe, and the other is considered part of Asia. Therefore, we refer to it as a Eurasian country. By "Europe," I meant the countries of the EU. There's no need to frame it in a way that conveys negative feelings. Even if it makes you feel superior or better with yourself…
@@irisbrejean8019 You're absolutely correct. Personally I also think that calling Russia a European country is wrong to an extent: we're simultaneously European and Asian in our ways, and that's one of the aspects that makes us unique. Russia is Eurasian, there's nothing wrong with it. I'm really glad you've had such a great experience with your friends!
As much as I like your idealism the fact that Russia has illegally invaded and occupied another country doesn't go away. What should Ukraine do in your opinion? Just let them and give them their land? In this case the peaceful world you are dreaming of would just belong to its strongest members. Wherever people live together need to be rules and wherever rules are is politics. We can't do without it, for better or worse.
Thank you so much Eli. I deeply appreciated your work on YT, showing us the cultural diversity in central Asia. You have educated us on this complex subject like no other!

What you experience can also be explained by this article : "Nearly 90 Percent of the World Isn't Following Us on Ukraine".

Peace.

Thank you for another interesting and educational post Eli. Peace and love from the UK x
Hi Eli, thanks so much for the tips and information.
Thanks for the information. So your UK credit cards don't work in Russia? I couldn't find anyone who would exchange £ for Rubles since the proxy war
Are you from NI?
Very helpful
So if you are a British citizen what made you to come back to the UK if you liked everything there so much? SPB today is not SPB 10 years ago …

AFAIK Canada has never invaded a neighbour ... Small difference between russia and china ...

Russian pensions are often 14,000 rubles, which is about 160 USD. Russian salaries are often 20,000 rubles, which is about 220 USD a month.
Brilliant Eli. You have probably helped many people wishing to travel to Russia and its many regions. I posted on another channels comments, that here in my local mall in Sydney, Australia, there was a money exchange and i could still get Russian Rubles.. So much for Australian sanctions.
Remember Australia is a convict prison of Britain, that is now run by multi National Corporations. So any sanctions and opinions of the senior management of AusCorp, are not necessarily the opinions of our peoples here. Take care, stay safe Eli.

Staying well away from politics is a wise decision.
the thing more evil then putin oppressing russian people , is ther will to be oppress forever , spineless wimps kneeling to ther tsar putin .
Politics is not far from you, it decides almost everything in your life. This is the biggest mistake to think about moving away from politics. The biggest mistake is for good people to walk away and remain silent. This is the greatest desire of bad politicians, dictators...

Hell, yeah, U.S.A.!! New England here, right back at you, brother. Russians are great people.
Peace.
Congratulations. Graet explanetion. Thank you .
Always have hope for a better tomorrow! Wise words to live by. Thank you for this video providing helpful information but also insight into what life is like for you. Yes, such a beautiful country that is dropping bombs every day on peoples houses, torturing innocents, threatening to destroy everyone with nukes, commiting hundreds of war crimes per day, ruining millions of lives by invading a neighbouring country. Such an amazing people!! Maybe you'd also like to have them as your neighbours?
They always want someone who is obedient to the west's directive to be in power.
why your people, when come here to EU behave like criminals? I thought Islam teaches people better and to respect the law and other people?
Because America, that's why.
stay out of politics, praise Allah, follow his messenger, pledge allegiance to his family. May Allah protect you. Remember this life is only a trial. It ends and is almost meaningless.

As an Aussie living in Kazan for the last 3 months it has been such a pleasure being here.
You're lucky you were not there in January, it got down to -38c, pretty brutal but still such a nice place to be. I will be back there again (from England) in a couple of weeks, I cant wait.

I was in Kazan last month, I really liked the city. I didn't like the taxi drivers, they drive like racers.
Have you tried joining an English speaking club? They are quite nice here in Kazan. It might be a good way to find someone to talk to unless you've been lucky enough to come across a person with decent English:)
I found your channel by accident, however after living over years in Finland. I have been surprised how much Finland and Russia are alike. Both cultural and mentally! keep up your good work, I enjoy every second of it.

The sanctions will end as soon as Russia ends its brutal war of aggression in Ukraine and withdraws its troops to its own country.
@@stanspb763 I hope the kremlin is paying you well for your propaganda work on this channel 😂😂😂

Absolutely fascinated by your content even though I am originally from and currently back in Russia. I guess it’s the way you present yourself - with such ease and honesty. Also, it’s so curious to observe the everyday things we encounter or the things we know being delivered in English. Makes me feel like a foreigner wanting to go to Russia.
Anyway, you’re doing great, you go girl! Very excited to have stumbled upon your channel.

Nothing bad will happen to you if you dont brake the law. The law not really different from other countres exept lgbt things and drugs. LGBT officialy prohibited but in practice police dont touch even lgbt clubs and you can do anything at your home while you dont public things that breaks those kind of laws. Mostly this law exists for protecting childs. Our gowerment knows that 1-5% ppl cant do anything with teir sexual orientation and dont touch them.
Nobody will jail you if you joke somthing like "Nice nuts bro" even publicly (even in the internet).

yep, no one does. we thought we understood america. we had faith in it without even thinking about it. we were brought up by it: hollywood and pop music essentially but even literature. us in the rest of the west. 'not america'.
slowly is all began to go wrong. suspicious and strange things. Kennedy assassinations. Vietnam. 9/11... different things different times different places... and now it is totally out of the ballpark... completely and utterly insane...
I think it needs the people.
They do not participate in a democracy hence there is no democracy hence there's rule by an insane cabal with their own interests at heart and they are such stupid greedy blind eventually self destructive interests..

Thank you so much for making this video.
