I’m useless at mechanics but thanks to your video (plus blood, sweat and tears!) I managed to upgrade my son’s wltoy’s rcc on Christmas Eve! Thank you sooooo much, he loves it!
That’s what we want 👍 great upload Richie 👍 it’s not silly fast but a good turn of speed and easy to handle 💯 percent and great film editing not showing the boring stuff but keeping us informed on the basics thanks 🙏
It is still possible to lower them, it just takes more work. You could add internal spacers to lower it. Possibly set it up with the dive shafts straight for speed runs?
first thing i always do is set up my wheels to prevent uneven wear... once they are worn wrong they are pretty much on their last leg and need replacing...
Well Brother what a easy to follow instructions how to do the conversion 👍 great Tip with the soldering iron to remove screws 👍 awesome Tips 👌 its Amazing what Wltoys are doing and the price range ,you can't fault it 👍 think the smaller companies are getting bigger by the years and thats good for us, obviously i will get one off these to add to my collection 😀 Anyway Rich a absolutely amazing video brother as always 👍thanks for sharing and hope your having fun on your hols 😀 keep safe my good Freind and stay safe 😊 🇬🇧🇬🇧😎🇺🇲🇺🇲😍
Hey Rich, can you help to briefly explain how the ABS function works with the radio and the program card? Also, very cool brushless setup. I never thought that this affordable combo can run with no cogging. Enjoy your day mate!
I don't get why ppl keep replacing the servo just get the three wire and the circuit board on a old servo and replace the five wire circuit board with a tree wire and a circuit board and that it
Hey! We were wondering when the new challenge would be out. You said in your last challenge winner video, “The new challenge will be out soon.” No rush, Just wondering! Thanks!
Richie - could you give your honest comparison between 124019 and 104001. Which one do you feel is better for speed runs? I'm sure alot of people would appreciate your feedback on the two. Im undecided on which one I want to purchase. Thank you for all your honest reviews and great speed run content.
@@philthyco1 so lol my point is you can go fast for less $ if you want to. Obviously you could get way more out of it if you put higher end castle stuff in but I mean c'mon, Its not quite hobbygrade and if you start putting big torque to it it's just going to shred the driveline. Unless that's what you're going for 😜
Shorten the springs to lower the car. The suspension needs to work in both directions don't lower with droop screws as then the suspension only works in one direction.
Great videos Richie!! I have a question have you chewed up any bevel gears? I put a 3650 4300kmv and it chewed up the front bevel gear. I greased them and oiled diffs before I used it. So it was lack of grease. So I bought two more 104001 and there stock and greased and added oil to them diffs and both rear bevel gears had gotten chewed up to and they were stock. Hoping someone has a fix to this problem. Also the weren’t even drove hard
Hey! The problem is not lubrication. In this model, there is another problem - the longitudinal play of the differential inside the housing, this breaks the bevel gear. To solve the problem, it is necessary to accurately set the gaps using thin washers 0.1 mm
Very tempted to get one of these but , with the price of the 124019 being so cheap now I’m tempted to get that .... what’s your opinion on this which one should I get
The thing that worries me about that buggy is the amount of flex in the chassis. 60 mph on road crash and you're going to pretzel that chassis. On a positive note you mentioned you wish they gave these names instead of numbers doesn't this one have a name on the side of the body "match"
Dude, I was supposed to get mine on Monday but you won't believe what happened. I caught our local delivery guy on my ring cam arriving at my address, scanning the package as "delivered" and driving off without ever knocking on my door. Now the delivery service claims it has been delivered, and now I'm out $95... (Yes, $95, I import these straight from my supplier in china)... Im SO pissed! 😤😤😤
@@RileyBanksWho That sucks. If they don't refund you, just post the video and hope it goes viral. Or better yet, write them and tell them that's what you'll do.
I think that 58mph was from the drive to your filming location. Now way that little f540(which is actually a 390 motor in a finned 540 can) on stock gearing went 58mph.
It's not a 380 ..380 is only 30mm long the rotor inside that motor is 50mm long..It's not a 3650mm like a normal 540 because there is 2-3mm of heatsink..So it's a 3350mm or so..A 380 is 2830mm..This motor can spin up rpm a bit faster than a normal 3650 because it has a bit smaller rotor(circumference) but keeps similar torque numbers because it is still full length rotor
@@apexelite2968 Ahh I read that wrong lol but it's still not a 390 either as a 390 is a 2835mm ..I've had a bunch of f540's.. I know what I'm talking about..Prove what? My Integy? I had it doing 50 on stock system and put in the surpass f540 4370kv up from 3000kv stock and it straight up fly's! ..I only have videos of the stock system as I've moved to the mountains and haven't found a place I could do speed runs at yet but I will this summer..Now with that said Richie's Wltoys was not doing 58mph but the motor is more than capable of it.. WLtoys wasn't my first RC but they ARE 4 of my favorites. I ran my 104001 1 time on stock before i converted it to brushless.

Epic and awesome that’s the kind of comment that makes this all worthwhile
You can add shock limiters inside the shocks to lower the car. No need for droop screws. 3-5 mm of fuel tube in each one.

Some foams, and a CC set up, you'll be up in the high 60's. As always, good video
Can’t wait to see you convert the new 4tec coming out.
I don't get why ppl keep replacing the servo just get the three wire and the circuit board on a old servo and replace the five wire circuit board with a tree wire and a circuit board and that it
Can you compare that sliding motor mount to the one from 144001, wondering if this is the solution I've been waiting for?
I had to use my heat gun. Some screws on the main areas. I used metric screws
The chassis flexes and can strip those bevel gears..
Great video mate, might take the plunge and do a brushless conversion cus i have many ESC etc sitting doing nothing lol 🤜🏻🤛🏻

I wonder where they got that motor mount idea from..... TLR232123
Ditch that esc for a Surpass Hobby 80 amp King Kong if your staying budget minded..That looks like the rcharlence esc's and they are no good
58? Looked like 45 max.. Proper speed run coming next?
@Tommy Vercetti Way better than the one that's in there..They actually work well

Hello,
Which motor did you choose ?
And wich servo ?
Thanks
RICHIEEEEEEE. good stuff rich. I’m thinking of doing this as soon as I’m done with my traxxas 4 Tec 2.0 6s setup
What brushless set up is this,i just ordered mine and wanting to go brushless
Do you have a link to that brushless combo?
Put the ESC in back of the motor and receiver IN front of motor
Richie all you had to do was un do the 2 screws on the adjustable motor mount and slide it out.
It won’t slide out the bottom of the mount hits the plastic side tray
@@DriftomaniacsRC As you slide it out lift it or loosen the bottom screws
Ive seen people having problems with chassis flex, do you?
So can't use the servo that is in?
when buying a bigger pinion, what pitch do i need? 48P?
Nice bro

If you want a basher/racer buy the 104001,if you want a speedrun car buy the 124019
I am buying the 104001 because it looks awesome and I can upgrade it down the road
Is there any mod available to fit a bigger size battery in there?
They should of made it 3s it is just to underpowered but Wltoys probably only put electrics in it so it could be an rtr but it’s meant to be upgraded
Never 58mph that richie 🤔
yeah I have to agree, it doesn't feel that fast on the video for sure
He didn’t seem to max it out either? And yes it did not seem 58mph
Looks like 40mph
