Just confused as why hogg out that bearing hole? I thought it was a "drop in" other then the new holes drilled

Why not put an Arrma Motor mount you can adjust your gear ratios easier and you can use either a center Differential or a spool

Thanks, this'll be a worthy upgrade. Will this save the front and rear diffs from breaking down after landing from jumps? I've heard the driveline shock can break on them when it lands hard off a jump and is spinning still. Would a slipper be more helpful?
Yes, I have run with 5900kv and 4300kv and head on crashes no gear breakage. Run the 46 tooth diff for grass dirt and jumps with a 16t pinion
Are you running it on carpet track
Would you be at all interested in trying to come up with something like this for the hpi maverick quantum platform? I bought the maverick xt but I didn't know that it doesn't have any slipper clutch, center diff or limited slip diffs at either end. I want to build some give into the driveline so I don't sheer spur gears so much.

You inspired me lol... I liked it and am doing it.... 👍 Quick question.... Is the 40 tooth a mod1 or mod 1.5... Ive been reading and some say the 40tooth is 1.5.. Might be hard to find a pinion if its 1.5... Ill get my 40 tooth in a few days
All spur and pinion are mod1. The 40 Tooth is the center diff for the Redcat Teramoto about 20.00, good for high speed. I use mostly a 46 tooth spur for on and off road.
Have you had issues with bevel gears using this setup? Is it still a functioning car?
Not at all, before I ever run it all diffs greased with heavy marine red grease.
Where in New York City you run that thing
I have now gone to home made spool. Flushing meadow or Cunningham park
How are the bevel gears holding up? thats what I keep striping!
Very good I use heavy grease and the center diff takes stress off front and rear diff.
Nice. Is the spur plastic? Looks like a lot of work but worth it afterwards.
Spur is plastic but hard plastic. Took it for a run 5900kv no problem. Yes worth it handling and power improvements.

Pinion is a mod 1, 13t, I I bought it on ebay from gonitrohobbies

You have to front brass to back and back to front

Thanks for help though ang great video I defo need to do centre diff mod as I've swap all my high speed 124019 parts into 104001 and at the moment very disappointed.
And killed a pair of tyres in one run
@@gkitch6755 I'm keeping the 104 for twisty driving because it plants so well so the toe in helps. My new speed runner will be the 1/8 scale Quantum race truck. You get everything esc motor radio truck for 399, and easy 60-70mph.

for the next project with this car, save your time and search for the xray xb4 (2017 or 2018 version) parts. Still, seeing how much you have invested in your wltoys, you could probably run xb4 now. As it was said in one other video about this wltoys 104001. This is meant to be run as is - no upgrades. They are just economically not worth to be put into such car.
There is a tremendous diffrence in driveability and handling
Why not just build a decent car?
