    This one is definitely a miss... Normally all you do looks super high end and professional. This one looks incredibly amateur and awkward (all those gaps and weird edges...) Don't get me wrong, I get that this is an sponsored video and you have to push the product, but this doesn't make any justice to your skill level. If you had used standard shiplap and caulk it would have looked hundred times better.

    Question: If I want to do a Herringbone desgin Do I always start from the from the center ?

    • @geegurl25
      @geegurl25 2 года назад +2

      Yes. If you start from the sides there’s more chance that the pattern will become skewed as you progress to the other side. Herringbone is a very difficult pattern to achieve correctly, so accurate measurements and angles are crucial.

    The project idea is good and I've been a subscriber since before your channel took off but I'm getting disappointed by your weekly sponsored videos. I checked out the price of Renoboard and it's 4 to 5 times the cost of peel and stick flooring which can be used to accomplish the same job as this. Had this not been sponsored and paid for, I'm fairly certain you wouldn't have chosen this product. To anyone considering doing this project, don't use Renoboard unless you want to get ripped off.

    • @InsertGenericNameHere
      @InsertGenericNameHere 2 года назад +1

      It didn't even seem to be sticking very well for being overpriced either. Hard to give your honest review when they sent you the product as a sponsorship.

    • @robertgiresi9515
      @robertgiresi9515 2 года назад +1

      @@InsertGenericNameHere Yes, she mentioned in the narration that she had to use construction adhesive where it didn't stick well, even though she didn't demo it during the video. Just because you're getting a paid sponsorship, you should still provide a full and unbiased honest review.

    • @robertgiresi9515
      @robertgiresi9515 2 года назад +5

      @Renoboard Thanks for the reply. I've actually thought of this project idea before seeing this video and I already had an idea of peel and stick flooring at $1 sq/ft so I immediately checked the price of your product and noticed it was $4.50 sq/ft which is 4.5X more expensive. I appreciate that you source high quality low VOC materials although I'm not sure why flooring needs FDA approval? It's neither a food nor a drug, so I don't get it, but that's not what's important to me. Say for example your project requires roughly 90 sq feet, that's $405. But unfortunately, for the extra 2 sq feet you need, you have to buy another $100 box, which bring your cost up to $500. Now if you went for peel and stick at $1 sq/ft, the cost drops to $90. If you need an extra box, it only cost another $20 brining your total to $110. Huge difference.
      After viewing this, I checked around youtube and I noticed that you are going around to other DIY channels and providing them with the same paid sponsorship. I noticed in all of the videos, none of them mentioned pros, cons or cost of the product, which is something I strongly desire, even with a paid sponsorship. I subscribe to a few dozen DIY channels (not all are home improvement) and I appreciate youtubers who provide an honest review of pros and cons regardless of the sponsorship and provide their experience on the video and also provide improvement opportunity feedback to the manufacturer.
      As for home improvement DIY channels, they typically don't provide pros and cons items on products they are being sponsored for. However, I do see them doing that for products they've purchased. To me that's sad. I'm guessing being paid makes the youtuber feel obligated not to say anything negative about the product. I feel that if a company is strong enough to stand behind their product to sponsor it, they should also allow themselves open to honest review and criticism. Not just giving out the positives of the product. Most DIY solar channels I subscribe to actually do this.
      Honestly, I don't know anything about your product, quality control, standards, whether you're a newcomer or an established company either. With that said, understand that consumers are very intelligent, and if word gets out that they can purchase a competitor's similar product for a fraction of the cost, then it won't be good for your business. I'm not trying to be harsh just be a jerk, I just believe that this should be an honest conversation amongst the sponsors and the youtubers who provide us content. This will be make for a better youtube DIY experience for everyone all around which includes the manufacturer, the youtuber and the viewer. Thanks for reading.

      @@robertgiresi9515 Hi Robert I just read your reply back to Reno Board and I must say I agree with Every Word which was very Truthfully Spoken. Paid Sponsorship should not be Void of where the short falls are on a promotion or pitch to an Audience the company is Attempting to Tap into. I will stick with someone new if I know that they were upfront about what they are still working on as they grow, become better in all areas that need improvements, product improvement included. This was a bit of a miss.
    A better AFTER would've been replacing the framed art with something more colorful and visually interesting. You know, something to help inspire you when you have to sit down and work.
    And yes, please consider investing in a $20 step ladder.

    It was like putting a puzzle together, with you cutting the pieces to fit. I love this. I do have some questions, if you were putting some shelving on the same wall, would you put the shelving up first, or the peel and stick boards? Can you drill into them safely? Also, how many boxes did it take to do that wall? I am so happy you did this. Now I need to order mine to do my project. I am so excited. Thanks for sharing. Happy Thanksgiving. 💗🦃

    I'm a big fan of your work, however, this project did not inspire me to create. Perhaps it was the color. Maybe a wood look may have been more visually appealing, but the white just made for a messy looking wall. Some color would have been nice. Definitely not your installation issue, but absolutely the product itself.

I've stood on chairs dozens of times in my life and have never fallen off. They are a safe platform and easily accessible when a step stool is not handy to go find in the house. Incidentally enough, I've seen those folding step stools collapse when standing on.
