    Old veteran here, I started driving for Amazon in 2019 until 2021,everything was shut down for COVID, nowhere to use the bathroom at all. We were ground zero in Connecticut for getting things done, I remember when the mentor app first came out and pre and post trip inspections. I decided to deliver again, 3 years later, it looks like a few things have changed like the Drivers Aid number, that was not like that before. I just had my over flow packages addresses facing out. And I had a mail carrier bin on the front seat for my envelopes. Safety was and still is a big deal for me and I consistently kept an 850 Fico score, Amazon must've missed me, my back ground check came back in an hour. Oh, I will be keeping my own dolly and small mail bin. Snacks and first aid kits, always always verify your addresses and read all of the customer notes.

    ** Never ever leave your sliding doors or any doors open as you exit the vehicle. Anything can be stolen at anytime, and it's a big safety hazard if you forget to close the door and things start flying out. If some animal is loose it can run into your van. I know it kills some time, but safety again is my biggest issue

    Been a driver for almost 2 years, i love it. Most routes are 170-200 stops 300-400 packages. Always done by 5 then do a couples rescues. A good tip for people just starting out is dont be too slow or fast. be right in the middle. Cause if youre too fast and always do rescues then they will always expect the same and theyll keep feeding you more and more.
    But my biggest tip you already seem to possess. A good attitude goes a long way!

    I started to deliver for Amazon back in Pennsylvania, now I live in Florida, from than to now, Amazon routing is all messed up. I don't care about how many stops or packages I get, I care about how to stops are set up, because normally I am in a busy area, with apartments, business, and houses and they expect me to be finish at a certain time....I drive step vans, what I do I always have one middle clear for my packages and I would empty 2-3 totes and organize it by street names. and keep all my overflow on one side...

    Noticed that seat belt trick. Doesn't Netradyne catch that you're not clicking/ unclicking the buckle?
    Sucks your DSP doesn't provide hand trucks/dollies

      @@vegasconfessionspodcast8202 yup, as long as the camera sees it's over the shoulder whenever you're rolling to the next stop👍
      Seems we're all just a number in the Amazon algorithm and the DSPs have to do whatever they need to keep their scores high
      I'm out of nursery now and just averaging about 200-240 locations a day (30-40 minutes from the DS to the First stop doesn't help the 10.5 planned day)

    I had one last week (I'm Flex) that asked for a signature and when he came to the door he seem surprised and asked me when did we start requesting signatures LOL. I told him that usually means the customer requested it and he said he didn't. Weird.

    • @AmazonDeliveryTipsTricks

      so what's even worse is sometime the customer had it set to a previous order then hasn't ordered for a while and when they do amazon just keeps it as a signature recipient, Sometimes it can be an expensive item too the seller wants confirmation for the delivery and as I driver I would just let the customer know its seems to be a amazon thing and they usually understand, Hope this helps and thanks for watching

    Regarding the pinpoint thing that you were going back to the business. Is there a way in the app (I'm flex so maybe it's different) to correct entry into a gated subdivision? I can't tell you how many times the app routes you to a resident entry only gate with no callbox. I have to bring up my Waze app and look to see where there is another entrance into the subdivision and it can sometimes be 2 or more miles away to the main gate. So frustrating!

    • @AmazonDeliveryTipsTricks
      @AmazonDeliveryTipsTricks  6 дней назад

      I usually just call the customer let them know who you are and get the code which is usually faster or on the call box itself just hit the 1st name you see and tell them amazon delivery and they will open up the gates for you and from there if you get a I didn't order a package from the person go the the next name lol I never had to go to the next name so for lol

    • @alandavis9319
      @alandavis9319 6 дней назад +1

      @@AmazonDeliveryTipsTricks Thanks for the reply but this is a gate without a call box. It's resident in/out only that has the QR reader that reads the barcode sticker on their car. No way to enter codes or call the customer. We have a lot of gated neighborhoods down here in the Sarasota FL area. You have to search for where the main gate to the subdivision is which can be miles away. But the darn Amazon gps always guides you to those resident only gates and it's a big waste of time. I was hoping there was a way to tag that entrance as a "no go" so for future drivers it guides them to the correct gate.

    • @AmazonDeliveryTipsTricks

      @@alandavis9319 Wow how crazy and I guess the nest best thing to do would be to text/call the customer while leaving there prior stop to give you access sounds like the best hope and once you are in the subdivision you should be good and sorry I think I missed the no call box part lol
