Hey I was trained on a Saturday did my first day solo on Sunday and was fired on Monday. Shouldn't they give you time to work your way up to the rate Amazon wants?
I thought they strictly said not to put any packages or bags loose in the front cab. Not even a lunch box or bookbag
Love your videos!! I drive for a sub company that does amazon in my little area. I use my own van and do have proper insurance for it. The deliver steps on the phone app are crazy. Open delivery address/Put in safe place screen opens/Press okay to go back/hit paper clip icon/hit camera icon/take at least 2 photos (place where package was put if not handed to customer and house #, and now they want a house photo, too)/select where package was placed/select yes/confirm. When there's multiple packages, you have to do each package separate in the phone. Wastes time. Slows you down. I like how it's done here very fast and keeps ya moving along. Cheers!!
One thing that hes not mentioning is that this is definitely a route that he has done numerous times. He knows exactly where each house hes going to is. It takes a couple months to get to this level no matter how efficient you are
What model phone is that? It seems to scan QR/BAR codes really fast.
New subscriber for sure. I think a route like this is awesome. The 'commentary' and well recorded stops makes it pleasure to video. Keep up the good work!
just on tip for you. when you scan a package have you camera on, so when you put package on the ground you already ready to take picture.
Love this and been doing this lately and TY!
hi im from puerto rico and coming soon amazon warehouse Under Construction right now in dorado ,Puerto Rico open in 2025
How very exciting and I hope you enjoy it brotha and thanks for stopping by!
is this suitable for introverts who like solitude work?
I would say yes especially cause you are on your own majority of the day and have to talk to people when dropping off packages and that's only if they are outside lol
@@AmazonDeliveryTipsTricksi appreciate your prompt response
@mrbillyb1966 Do you bring your own bungee cords? If so are there any that you suggest. Thanks in advance man You're awesome! Please keep doing these videos, you are super encouraging!
Like this tour i make 170 stops with 300 pakages So work in city center then i see u
WHAT LUNCH???
LMAO
My boy why are you running ? Especially in 100 plus degree weather? Nah bro u running rewards u with more work
Cause im not afraid of work and like to hustle and I like to beat delivering in night time if I don't have too and being a hour drive away from the station i'd rather have majority of stops done during the day if possible, That's why!
Does the sprinter van automatically go into park when you turn the engine off?
The older ones do and great question BTW!
I've seen another driver on here wearing gloves with the fingertips cut off. Have you ever considered wearing gloves? (Although on a hot day, I can understand why you might opt out lol)
I think about gloves often but think my hands will get sweaty and I won't like it and I actually bought 3 pair and have yet to use them lmao but I will say there is something satisfying washing all that dirt off at the end of the day lol thanks for the rec!
Yes highly recommend gloves with finger tips so you can still text and the palms of your hands won’t get dirty
The only reason I'm here is because of RUclips's recommendations. I don't even have a DSP in my area, as fun as the job looks from this side of the screen. By the way, has anyone ever said that you sound like Matthew McConaughey? Thanks for the video. Blessings!
thanks and glad you enjoy the vid and yes I have heard this lately and that my voice is relaxing too lol and thanks for stopping by!
I enjoy your videos, I start training October 16 in Oklahoma City, I’m a little older at 47, but been working outside most of my life doing seamless gutter, climbing on ladders and roofs all day, still in good shape and have lots of energy, I’m nervous about the job, but these videos help me feel more confident about it. Keep up the good work!
TY and no matter the age this job is about organization and flow and you sir have plenty of experience in other fields which will help with you adapt and im sure you will knock it out man and Goodluck brother you got this and this job is truly one of the easiest gigs I've ever had!
@@AmazonDeliveryTipsTricks Awesome. Thank you
We call the end of the route the “Last bag high” 😂😂 time to bust it out!
Love this lol thanks for stopping by!
Love your videos my man, I’ve been a driver for 2 years and they kick my ass, kind of give me a little relief since it’s prime right before peak 😔 btw I smoke the same cigs 😂😂😂
Lmao love it and ty for the feedback man and I have to say time flies by when working for a DSP I am already a year in and it flew by!
If i ride by the house, im stopping. I try to avoid u-turns
Yessir. Organization is key. Makes things faster. Having to go through stuff to find even one package loses time. Especially on a busy day! Cheers and drive safe!
You got that right! and thanks for stopping by!
what case do u use to for your iphone?
I use a otter box & Thanks for stooping by!
Thanks for the tip! Any new videos soon?
Working on it now and got some fun stuff lined up, Stay tuned and thanks for asking!
How do you deal with tight streets and reversing. I feel im more worried about that . Im on my third day and already stressing about. Since i feel lots of streets out here in the city are small
After a while your become very comfortable in the van and know your limits at the same time and my biggest recommendation would be just park up the road if you feel you will have a hard time getting out and just make it easier for yourself and look at the upcoming stop to see which way to face your van as well.
I have some questions: 1) How you manage to eat/drink and especialy going to the bathroom? 2) Are you allowed to go in the bathroom (somewhere) all the times you need it? 3)Beside the lunch break, can you eat/drink making some 5 minutes breaks? 4) The fuel you put a the end, who is paying it, you or the company? Thanks and keep going! I like your style!
I snack on the go and eat on lunch breaks as far as the restroom goes I also go on my lunch and I always keep an eye out for porter potties in new areas being developed and as far as how some of these ladies do it man my hat is off to them cause we all know when us fellas are in a pinch we have a last option I won't mention lol as far as the breaks go we also get 2 - 15 min breaks we can take as well but most drivers work though them and just break as they need too and really hope this helps as McDonalds can be a delivery drivers best friend also use the app to get food faster and not wasting time on break for it!
@@AmazonDeliveryTipsTricks Thanks for the answer!
I love your content! I'm from Roma, Italy and i'm starting soon this job and I can't wait! Please make more videos, they are so relaxing!
Awesome! Thank you so much and we drivers are a different animal and like I say in vids I respect anyone who enjoys this line of work as it is not for everyone! best of luck and remember don't overthink the gig, its easy as you make it everyday starting with load out, Stay organized!
@@AmazonDeliveryTipsTricks Thanks but unfortunately I did the interview but they didn't hire me right away. They said they are interested but maybe in 1-2 months I will be called. I'm so sad because I wanted to start right away, but I think they will make me work 1 month just for the peak...I don't know :(
I just started working 2 weeks ago and im about to leave. My dsp promised a certain amount when i started, i wound up getting 21.25 an hour and i cant get over time. They will give you the day off if you're even close to overtime. Which sucks because the job itself isn't so bad when you get used to it.... On my last day im walking on all the grass😂
LMAO I feel ya especially if your pay/hours aren't met
Dude crying about making 21.95 to be a delivery boy
@@KingoftheCountry90 I know thats super cheap
@@dman8973 cuz you were making 30 n hour at your last job huh 🤔
How do you keep your packages from falling out of side door?
All totes strapped up with bun-jee cords and loose packages are up front with me and big boxes stay in the back of the van!
Can you do a video on how you label your overflow packages ?
Absolutely and good luck man you got this in the bag and seriously the fact that you are looking up vids on the gig already makes you a step ahead!
Love your videos! I’m starting part time next week with a new DSP. You have good tips that I will take along with me.
You can do it! And thanks so much really means a lot and I like doing them as I know it can help in lots of different ways! thanks for stopping by!
Just love to watch delivery videos
Us too and thanks for stopping by!
I hope nobody from your DSP sees this and notices that your sitting on your seat belt and then pulling it over your head so it's across your chest. It was emphasized to an extreme degree during our training that we are not to do that. It your DSP says to go ahead, then good for and never mind. Apologies if I'm wrong, but that what it looks like what you're doing.
😂
No worries at all and my DSP is ok with it and yes some are very strict compared to others I've seen on YT even with other rules and van inspections can require pics upon review as well but yes if you get a great management group who understands the gig and why we are doing what we are doing and staying and moving fast they don't mind over looking it as they know you may have up to 190-200 stops a day
Do no turn of the engine to save time (and deacrease engine wear)
It isn't his van it is the companies and they are usually tracking if you are leaving the vans idling and if it's too much you can get in trouble for it.
These vehicles are actually made for the purpose of on/off and that's why its a rule from the DSP's besides summer time. it's called engine off compliance and if you don't so it they can let you go cause it will hurt you scorecard!
This guy gets it TY! LOL
So…. I’m a rookie delivery driver and I won’t get in trouble for putting packages/envelopes on the passenger seat?
No
Don't see how they can give you grief for it when Amazon Flex with cars full of parcels on every seat but the drivers seat is a thing.
Nope, just don't do it at loadout at the station in the mornings cause they will give you a hard time about it as its not safe in their eyes but we know what we are doing and no most DSP's don't mind you saving time and working more efficiently!
Appreciate the vid! Tomorrow is actually my first day as a DSP driver with a trainer. You seem more mature and experienced (in life) like me, and as a result present a realistic, real-world point of view. Too many videos being made by ENTILTED youngsters who are upset because they would rather be at home smoking and playing video games. 🇹🇹
I hope you are killing it and enjoying brother and ty for the kind words and GO GET THAT MONEY!!!! lol
Any updates??
I am about to meet with the DSP next week & I really need a job. Would you say $22/hr is worth it? I figure even if it's a lot of stops it could be a worthwhile job. Appreciate the video bro.
TY and hope it all goes well man best of luck!
Do you feel your legs after work??
sometimes no and sometimes yes lol
Hey man i also work at Amazon delivery and funny coincidence i work at the same warehouse different dsp tho so it’s cool to see a pov from a different DA in Fresno or Central Valley area , I’ve been working for my dsp for 3 years now hopefully we run into each other one day keep them vids coming
I love being a driver for a third party company for Amazon. It’s soooo nice
very cool!
so what do you do to prevent foot blisters
lotion the feet good at night and proper fitting shoes and new socks don't hurt either! Feet are important 100%
Bring a change of socks in your bag
I have seen drivers lose totes and over flow when driving with door open
Hey let's see a video where you're all organized you're ready to go Midway through your route you get a damaged package and his liquid flowing all over the place you got to find it you got to bag it and let's look at some non Amazon lockers how long that's going to take you
😢😢
I just put damaged packs aside in the back of the van and spills happen often and you just hope it smells good so the van smells good! as far as non amazon lockers go they suck lol
And remember. Hydrate today for tomorrow.
1000%
ALWAYS ALWAYS CARRY AMPLE SUPPLY OF MILK BONES. I BUY A 10 LB BOX EVERY WEEK. LOVE DOGS IT GOES OVER BUG WITH CUSTOMERS AND CAN ALWAYS BE A DISTRACTION IF NEED BE
Very prepared I love this!
In 4 yrs i have never gotten someones signature. I just type in first cpl initials and scribble a line
I have an interview for a DSP tomorrow and I'm excited for this! I believe sorting the packages properly is the key to being efficient at this job.
As you do it more and more "sorted" means many different things. It used to mean in order ready to go. Now it just means as long as I don't have to dig through the bag it's good enough. On a chill route I do 30+ an hour. On a business route I'm lucky if I get 25 before 2:00pm. And of course not having to wait at a business for 10+ minutes helps too. Also Amazon in the past few months has started doing one time passwords, and they are also one of the worst time wasters on a route.
yep organize as you go and find stuff way faster and it help throughout the day save time. You got this!
I have not seen 160 plus stops in so long my dsp in sacramento california got relocated to downtown sacramento majority business and apts. I get low counts 60 to 122 stops meaning it will take almost all day. Props for the video
TY so much and thanks for stopping by! Literally got 202 stops today! Lmao
Can you do a video dedicated to doing apartments and a prime episode
Yes good point as there are some notable tips for apartments to mention and will be working on this topic soon and thanks for checking out the video!!
I started in mid April as an independent contractor for a sub-contractor here in eastern Canada. I have to use my own van and keep all receipts. I really enjoy it!! I did food delivery a year before that, and it set me up for this essentially. I know where I'm going when I see the addresses. It's only a small town that I do. But I'd always wanted to try this job out for a long time. I 've applied locally for courier work but never got a chance. I also deliver pizzas and drive for Door dash when I have time. Great vid by the way!! Driver safe and cheers!!
Sounds like you are in the right field for sure and just be ready as amazon hires in waves during peak times and stay safe out there buddy! Thanks for checking out the video!!
I just started with amazon. My second day was yesterday, and I go back on Sunday. My first day we had 47 stops and 140 packages, I forgot how many locations. We also took 74 packages or about 25 stops off of another guy who we rescued. My second day was yesterday, and we did 299 packages and like 130+ stops. I will admit that at first it felt really overwhelming but I'm starting to get into the grove of things and its not so bad. Im super sore like I got into a mma fight with the hulk however if you just power through its not actually that bad. My dsp is getting a raise next week to almost 2 dollars more than where we are currently which is cool. Thank you for your videos because they definitely will guide me a bit more as I do this on my own
I started around 2 months ago. I was super sore for the first two weeks, I completely forgot about that. Keep at it.
@@person4402 thank you. The soreness doesn’t really get to me tbh. I only work 4 days a week and unfortunately my dsp is in the process of trying to get rid of other drivers who don’t bust their butt, because day after day the people who have the hard routes are constantly having to do big ass rescues after their 300 packages being delivered. The owner and dispatchers have listened to the more experienced drivers and are going to cut people who don’t work hard by either making them quit by not scheduling them and giving hours to the better drivers or just firing them straight up for performance issues
You would honestly have hated my week I was avg about 180 to 196 and about 350 to 380 packages not to mention today had 166 over 250 locations and 350 packages but overall my suggestion would be stretching daily and take lots of water and hydration packets to help for the day.
@@JRsimp8 appreciate the advice bro. I’m sure I’ll work my way up
@@Bugg5zGaminggot ya plus don't overwork yourself remember it's not worth the amount of risk on getting hurt or stress do what u can and make sure always to work at what u feel is a good pace!!!
Man, US Amazon seems way more easier and way more chill than UK Amazon. We have to knock on every door, always make sure that someone is home, if they're not, you have to try a neighbor or check if they've left instructions etc. Leaving it in a safe place and taking a picture is absolute last resort stuff, it sucks, and that's why I don't do it anymore 😆
Ive seen some of those vids and thought wow lots of step to their process and here in the U.S some neighbors do not like each other at all lol Thanks for checking out the video!!
