Thx I appreciate it, but I too was a bit behind schedule when I built the 2nd half. My kids were in NICU and it was starting to rain so the roof had to go on quick after a few nights of tarps. I recently added 3 rows of 2x4 shelves and it made such a difference in storage.
Great video. I did mine in a day. Fundaments I did separately, week before. Cordless drill, lever, hammer... All you need. Instead nails I used screws. It can be reinstailed easy, too.

Awesome video, I just purchased one and and getting ready to build it myself, hope I can get it done and and do as good a job as you did. Looks great! Thanks for the video to show me how its done!
@@northernspur6282 I love it! It is a lot of work to build but had friends and family help me assemble it. Be sure to follow instructions exactly or you might have some issues with some things not lining up exactly be we made it work and it is a great shed! Even added a little AC window unit for the summer time when working in there. I recommend it!
@@northernspur6282 Sorry just seeing this, it went well, you have to follow instructions to the T or may have a few little issue as I did but we made it work and it turned out fine, been using it every since, love it, took about 2 or 3 weeks to get it built and completed with 2 or 3 of us working on it at a time.
How was the quality of the materials? I've seen mixed reviews where more than one person complained about warped lumber, bad cuts, etc. Were you happy with the quality of the kit?
Pretty happy only swapped a couple of pieces at my local Lowes - they were easy going - just recently put some 2x4 shelves in mine trying to stay organized

Alex how did your build go? I'm considering buying this shed and wondering if I should do it myself or hire someone. I'm not experienced but also not afraid to work hard.
Many thanks…. It was an okay process, but some of the stuff they rely on you to supply, such as the roofing materials, and floor if you don’t have a concrete slab to place it upon. Otherwise it was fun and learned some during the process.
If anyone is interested in shed plans the greatest results that i've ever had was by using the Wilfs Shed Formula (just google it) definately the best course that I have ever tried.
Check with your jurisdiction- my city allows for 120sq ft shed without a permit. Also be mindful of setbacks from property lines, my side yard setback is 5 feet.
How has it help up over the years? Looks like it could be strengthened by using extra 2x4's for joist and extra 2x3's for studs and some extra trim boards around the back. For a 2x3 walled shed, it doesn't look too bad. I get a lot of wind where I am and not for sues of this will work or not, assuming you can still get one.
I'll be doing this shed as well. They make quite a stink about the the size of the foundation (I think the instructions have it as being 4" bigger"?) How big was yours?
I am building this shed now and really appreciate this video... quick question. My boards for the backwall assembly are measuring 68 1/2" not 66 1/2" per the instructions. Is this a typo or do I need to cut these 5 pieces down.
Great job, mate. Looks great. I have one getting delivered in a coupla weeks. Is there a ledge at the bottom of the doors? I'm putting 2ft of deck boards at the front of mine, just want to make sure the doors wont stick on them as they're 1/4 inch thicker than the subfloor i'm laying on the base. Cheers.
Careful- the doors overhang the front edge of the frame with the floor on top. I believe it’s purposefully done to provide a drip over edge from rain 🌧- good luck with the build! There’s a lot of customizing options
@@lanceoa Hey mate. In the process of building my shed. The book says it's 141 inches long, I made my base 144 inches long (12 feet). Did you come across this problem?

lanceoa yeah 1,200 is not cheap cheap but you know I figure if I use it a lot , it would be worth it! So many ideas if this can be insulated well, I guess it would require more work on the interior walls.
Hey! I have a really specific and kind of odd question regarding this particular shed. Would you mind answering? I'm looking to put a booth inside of this shed that's 5.5ft wide, 4.5ft deep and 7.3ft tall. I'm wondering if this would in fact fit inside of this shed given the depth and length the height would have to stay at and the ceiling being curved down. I hope this makes sense...feel free to private message me about this as well I know it's a really specific question! Thank you so much for your time!
I won’t lie. It wasn’t easy to do the roof. Otherwise it was quite simple, level, tape measure. Given the opportunity I would do it again, but try a nice metal roof. Asphalt roof tiles not fun. I only needed a second person to stand the walls up. Don’t do this in the heat
lanceoa thank you for the info. Trying to buy and build one over the next month. My buddy has done roofing so maybe I’ll leave that part to him🙂 You said you just needed to buy the paint, caulk, floor, and everything for the roof?
Yeah nails are included, I bought more deck screws as I feel more comfortable with screws than nails. Of yes and drip edge must be purchased, but that’s fairly cheap. Clamps and wood glue helped me keep the roof trusses uniform. It would be nice if they included a vent for hot air release, but I just keep that window open.
That sounds right, but can’t remember it was a while ago. Cut the end pieces on the ground... sucked doing it up there after they got soft from the sun
Excellent summary. Couple questions, did they offload with their own forklift or did you provide the forklift? Does the kit come with all the required nails, screws, and other small stuff? Can the specified floor be purchased as a kit and delivered? all that lumber is a bit much for my car roof. thanks in advance. Friend and I wanting to install one of these behind our place, we chose installation by Lowes but had to cancel because three feet clearance is required. Space we have it will be a foot within a common fence. So we are thinking of doing it ourselves (will take longer but this model of shed is perfect for our needs). We probably need to assemble back wall a little different, i.e. fasten to floor then push entire floor assembly into final position for remaining walls and roof. Nah, don't bother making it pretty inside. When you're busy doing stuff, that's what sheds are for to contain items out of the elements.

I had mine half built then my twins were born, in NICU for 3 weeks and it also rained half that time. So I got the roof on just in time!
We’re in the process of building this shed and unfortunately we’ve run into a problem… the rafters aren’t going all the way to the edge of the front wall, like 1 inch or less short. We’ve double checked the assembly and the finished length matches. I think because of this the roof isn’t matching up correctly. Any suggestions?
Hmm… are the walls all plumb and the perpendicular walls adjoining square? You may have to reassemble the trusses to flatten them to proper length? Not sure hard to say without seeing it.

+Anthony Carr thx AC, 8 footings total, floor sits on (3) 4×4s PT of course! Fun project, learned a lot. Learned that I don't like roofing lol. Cheers!
I actually made some shelves out of some 2x4s and light plywood. Loft storage wouldn’t be too possible as there isn’t much above the roof trusses. A barn style shed would have lots of loft storage
Did the packaging come with all the necessary parts or did you need go buy things like nails and screws? Also did it come with instructions and labels or did you just know? My mom and I are trying to decide if we could do it ourselves or should have it installed.
Breana Haselbarth if I had to do it over, I would buy it from HomeDepot with their installation/assembly. I had my twins in the NiCU while I finished this in between the rain 🌧. I bought extra framing for the base- they assume you will install in on top of concrete. I also bought extra screws since I am OCD and like the solidarity of screw construction on the frame. Paint is not included and roofing is not included, as well as the roofing paper and drip edge is an additional expense. It was a fun project (except the roofing - not fun), good experience, but I think I broke even versus buying an assembled version. If you want to bond over it, go for it!
Awesome vid. Did your kit come with all the material needed if you were to build this on a concrete slab? Or would you have had to buy additional treated lumber?
Wow glad I came across this video! Just ordered one and getting it soon. The Instructions on the Lowe’s site says it had no floor, did you have to buy your materials or does it have framing and panels for the floor?
Thanks for sharing your video. We just bought this shed and will be installing it in the next few months. A question for you. You painted the walls after you put the shed up? I also love the deck that you added in front. Might just have to copy your idea! How long did it take you to put up the entire shed?
nadjam123 I worked off and on after work and weekends so hard to put a time on it. Plus it rained and we tarred it, then my kids were born and I had to put it into overdrive while they were in NICU. Paint unassembled is a good idea, but you’ll have to go back. Over the screws/nail holes also... and some caulking duties too... the roof was the worse part... that took a solid 5hrs. I did it all alone except when I had my brother in law hold up the walls... so a very DIY friendly job
We did put up the shed. My husband did most of the work with some help from a friend and some help from our son. My sister and I painted the panels before putting it up, but you were right about having to go over it afterwards. Where the panels meet up, I didn't realize that the seams would show, so I had to paint all of those after the shed was up. All in all, it came together nicely. We still need to get a deck and/or ramp made...but there's always next summer! :)
Just remember to bring any warped pieces back to swap out with fresh lumber. My Lowe’s was pretty easy - I brought back a few bowed/twisted pieces and just got new pieces off the shelves. Just remember to set aside the matching piece for tracing size length etc
Counting the wardrobe changes it looks like it took you at least 8 days to build. How much do you think you could've cut down the time by using a pneumatic framing nailer?
Jason Tremper probably shave at least half of nailing time.. maybe 8 hours of pounding, 6” edge nailing on walls and roof plus rooofing. My kids (twins) were in the NICU at the end of it, so I was running back and forth trying to finish before the weather moved back in! Aside from standing up the walls, I did it all on my own, first time roofing. Also I used a lot of screws for the framing versus nailing so that dragged it out
Did you have to buy the extra screws and door latch? I just bought the shed kit and all I got were 2” and 3” galvanized nails. I noticed there are screws listed in the manual.
Yeah I bought s bunch of screws cause I’m not down with too much pounding and prefer the security of nails... it does come with the latch. It comes with a few screws, mostly for the door assembly if I remember correctly
Hi there, I have 2 of this same shed. I have not build them yet, but they did not come with the floor. They allow for the option of creating a concrete foundation, or else you need to purchase the 2x4s and plywood for the floor.
+rob few hundred extra.. semi fun project to get experience with. but overall I should've just bought a tuff shed. but now I know how to do it, know how to roof, never roofing again lol
Tough to say... I only had help on one day to standup the walls while I nailed them in. Put it this way, with a concrete slab to place it on. Two workers could put it together in a full day if they had all the materials on hand. I am a weekend warrior so add many days at 4 hours
Oh man. Did you make sure everything was plumb and square? That’s one thing I made sure of, that my trusses were all symmetrical and spacing across the top was accurate. My pieces fit pretty well.
lanceoa I don’t know where I went wrong. I ended up take off the front and right wall and adjusted the heights which I think was throwing everything off. I just got my last coat of paint on yesterday and it looks awesome. Finally finished.
@@lanceoa definitely thanks! I have mine coming in on the 25th but wanted to get the foundation done sooner so I can assemble it the same day but I don't want to get the measurements wrong and have to trim it afterwards
+Guy Six just set some posts and framed it right up front... 16 on center framing spacing, about 6 inch boards on top, 4 foot wide so that no loss of boards from cuts
Thx sir! I think it’s a light grey with a hint of blue.. shingles were charcoal color asphalt. If I could do it again, I’d like to learn metal roofing standing seam I think it’s called
You’ll definitely want to anchor it to something... concrete slab is better or even a perimeter wall of concrete or CMU block for the walls to secure to
+Bertha Merary Quintero not the floor ( they assume you'll set it on a concrete slab), no paint, no roof, had to buy nails for the roofing, but for the most part all the screws nails included.
Nice work. How long did you take to complete this work with the tools you used..? I'm trying to build shed like you. but i'm not sure whether nail gun is necessary.
+Do K altogether couple weeks, few trips to homedepot every other day... plus my kids were born and I went back and forth to the hospital between building... no nail gun necessary imho

Does the kit include the treated 4x4s and 2x4s for the Floor Frame?
No it didn’t include the floor… the kit assumes most will set it on a concrete slab
@@lanceoa Thank you for your quick response. My kit should be arriving in 2 weeks.
Awesome vid. Did your kit come with all the material needed if you were to build this on a concrete slab? Or would you have had to buy additional treated lumber?
Yes if built on slab all included except roof shingles
@@lanceoa thanks for replying! I guess my kit didn’t come with anything floor related even though the instruction says it is.
Wow glad I came across this video! Just ordered one and getting it soon. The Instructions on the Lowe’s site says it had no floor, did you have to buy your materials or does it have framing and panels for the floor?
I bought the flooring and framework shown. I should’ve poured a slab when my father in law advised me lol
Was the shed pre drill or you have yo measure where to drill? Thanks
Measure and drill…. Not pre drilled
With help, a weeekend should suffice
Many thanks for the response.
Great job, but I have a few questions ... Was the subflooring pressure treated and was it included or a separate kit to purchase?
No, this is sold to be constructed on a concrete slab. I purchased materials for the subfloor and used some nice pressure treated
@@lanceoa Thanks for the very helpful reply! I was gonna build a shed from scratch but Lowes has this same kit for just $1200 ... you can't go wrong 👍
Just remember to bring any warped pieces back to swap out with fresh lumber. My Lowe’s was pretty easy - I brought back a few bowed/twisted pieces and just got new pieces off the shelves. Just remember to set aside the matching piece for tracing size length etc
@@lanceoa That's good to know, thanks. I'm also gonna install a roof vent.
Hey Frank please let me know how you get along, in the process of doing this also..
You made the floor 11ft and 9 inches
It comes with a few screws, mostly for the door assembly if I remember correctly
lanceoa okay thank you, I will have a chat with Lowe’s tomorrow, I didn’t receive any screws.
Check for any bent 2x’s also - they were really easy about swapping for straight lumber. I Probably did 3 pieces, my Lowe’s is only 1 mi away.
Thanks again for you help, Lowe’s gave me all the fasteners and hardware from another kit.
👍🏼 that’s great! They were pretty easy - fun experience, though with my time constraints next time I’ll just order a built one!
Did it come with the flooring or you bought those separately? I mean the foundation.
Hi there, I have 2 of this same shed. I have not build them yet, but they did not come with the floor. They allow for the option of creating a concrete foundation, or else you need to purchase the 2x4s and plywood for the floor.
Thinking about getting this one. How much for supplies including paint, shingles, etc... Not the deck which is very nice. Gives me some ideas
+rob few hundred extra.. semi fun project to get experience with. but overall I should've just bought a tuff shed. but now I know how to do it, know how to roof, never roofing again lol
I have this same shed but I added a extra window and and made it into my own room 😂
That’s awesome, insulated? And window AC unit?
and why the four corner posts don't come primed from the factory ,because if you don't paint it , they stand out.
Looks really nice. What is the color you used? I'm building one now and really like your color choice.
Thx Michael... I’ll have to check this weekend to see what the can says
@@lanceoa What did it say? lol
Nice! What is the color you used ?
How many hours did it take to build this? Thanks
Tough to say... I only had help on one day to standup the walls while I nailed them in. Put it this way, with a concrete slab to place it on. Two workers could put it together in a full day if they had all the materials on hand. I am a weekend warrior so add many days at 4 hours
Thank you 😊
Can you add normal 2x6 studs where there aren't any? It seems as if Lowes cheated a lot on structural integrity here for sake of affordability.
lastcall170 of course you can! Especially a good idea if you load it up with heavy tools and stuff and hang stuff off the walls and shelves.
@@lanceoa I just bought a better built shed for $500.00 less than this Lowes garbage.
Are the nails and other hardware provided?
Yes!! Not roofing nails though
You should mention that the floor is not included in the kit.
Oh yeah, the floor is not included in the kit
Nice did it come with the roofing material Shingle Etc?
No floor no paint no shingles.. given the chance to do it again I’d buy something pre built and delivered- good experience though
In the video you say its a 12x8 but the one your linked to amazon is a 10x8
Just sharing what’s avail on Amazon. The 12x8 is found at Lowe’s as in the video title
I got to the roof paneling part and nothing was lining up correctly. So frustrating.
Congrats! 🎉 yeah it’s actually a lot of work, but very satisfying and makes you feel like you can build other stuff.
One question in the description on the website it states the foundation should be 11ft9in by 8ft how true was that for your foundation floor?
I’ll double check, you definitely want the shed walls to overlap the foundation for rain drip edge
@@lanceoa definitely thanks! I have mine coming in on the 25th but wanted to get the foundation done sooner so I can assemble it the same day but I don't want to get the measurements wrong and have to trim it afterwards
@@Jayton950 just checked - those measurements from the website are right on the money… perfect drip edge!
@@lanceoa awesome thank you so much now I can build my foundation without worries.
No problem- appreciate the view and comment. It’s. A good lil shed, I didn’t really add the door design elements.
Thank you for sharing.
which store do you buy from?
hardly any 2x4s used in this, i guess the strength comes from the sheathing parts.
No snow loads and just holding tools and garden stuff plenty strong 💪🏼
How did you build the deck front of the shed
16” on center framing on pressure treated... redwood boards on top.. 4 x 12 feet so I could use 8k’ long boards effectively
So do I still need floor framing if I build it on a slab of concrete?
Nope, just build straight away!
Nice job.
+Gold grinder thx, my first and last time
how tall is it inside?. how tall is the door and inside for the most part not just at its highest point. would this work as an office?
pretty tall - insulated and drywalled - this would be the sh#t!
can you possibly measure it for me? the front wall and back wall and then at its heights point inside withing the gable roof
great video, quick question, what was the exact size of the deck? i know the shed is 8x12 but what was the size of the deck? 8x12 as well? TIA
Josh Morton made it 4' x 12', that way I could maximize use of 8' long deck boards for best price and zero waste
Josh Morton that's the deck in front
how big is the subfloor for the shed?
Josh Morton 12 x 8 exactly...
okay thank you so much building mine this weekend.
How did you do your deck in front of your Stratford shed? I have the same so I would like to build the same as you did.
+Guy Six just set some posts and framed it right up front... 16 on center framing spacing, about 6 inch boards on top, 4 foot wide so that no loss of boards from cuts
What color did you end up painting your shed? That color shingles? It looks great! Thank you!
Thx sir! I think it’s a light grey with a hint of blue.. shingles were charcoal color asphalt. If I could do it again, I’d like to learn metal roofing standing seam I think it’s called
Where did you learn to build a shed. Im a beginner and i wish to learn to build one
It comes with instructions 😆
Do you need a wooden floor to secure the walls to or can it rest on some level patio stones?
You’ll definitely want to anchor it to something... concrete slab is better or even a perimeter wall of concrete or CMU block for the walls to secure to
@@lanceoa Thanks!
Does it come with all the hardware and the roof shingles?
+Bertha Merary Quintero not the floor ( they assume you'll set it on a concrete slab), no paint, no roof, had to buy nails for the roofing, but for the most part all the screws nails included.
Can the package fit in a 5'x8' trailer? Thanks
+Tim Jhonson it is 4' x 8' about 18" tall. You can fit as long as you can overhang or have an inch or two over 8 ft length on the trailer
So does this shed come with a floor?
It does not, you can either put it on a slab or make your own floor like I did
Thank you
Can you tell me what color is that ?
Let me ask the misses
So great
I'm the least handy person ever! id pay an extra fee and have an assembled one delivered or pay someone to put it together for me haha. I'd watch tho. just when I opened the box and I saw all the pieces I got frightened 😓
+Golden Arms in hindsight, yeah easily would pay for a tuffshed. Good experience, but I never want to lay shingles again lol!
I install these sheds. Like anything you get whay you Pay for. They have cheap ones and more expensive ones.
How many hours did it take you to build it?
Couldn’t say exactly.. check on the number of outfits I put on. Several diff days with short 2 hr sessions. I only got help for 30 min to erect the walls. Supposed to take 2 guys the weekend. Or two pros can do it in a day
Where can I buy this?
Lowe’s online
So not make it 12 feet I am little confused
The wall panels overlap the floor, for rain to drip off effectively. Had I made the floor 12 water would constantly soak the floor
Thank you for the response and the video.
When is the housewarming Party?
+Goudhaantje haha, I should've built in a sleeping loft lol!
Your $200 deck is probably close to $600 now
Bout to sell it for that price!!!!
As long as you have crutches you will never break your leg
+Barry Fields 👍 haha
Holy cow! no studs on the sidewalls!!! cheep arss design!
Not the strongest, but easy enough to reinforce, If you want to add shelving or something on the sides. Plus no snow loads here
The music reminds me of Stranger Things
Nice ....
Thank you! Cheers!
WOW, you can really see the chemtrails at 6:07.
Cool observation!!
When (not if) the twins stake claim to repurpose it (playhouse) I advise you to have somewhere else to put all that crap LOL
haha, yeah my nephew (8) already asked when i was gonna get my junk out! Take care Siren!
I am sure that you will find good way to make it on woodprix Webpage.
Best to me!
Lost count on the wardrobe changes, nice shed though
Yeah it took some work... and we had our twins right in the middle of it
Stick with squatch. Forget the sunglasses
This time I'll use woodprix instructions to make it by myself.
Okay 👌🏼
Im glad you like that too
hard As f**** help!!! 😓
