I usually try the “let’s see if I can get it near the hole” method myself
This. In many aspects of life.
Hahaha that's always a good start pal. My ball doesn't ever go straight so I'm happy with somewhere near the greenside
My preference is usually “don’t skull it into the next fairway”. If I hit the green; success!
Best comment, and all of the comments down below are hilarious😂😭!!
Seriously Rick, your videos are insanely good and constantly getting better.
Brandon Bland indeed they are
I've wondered why some golfers have their hands finishing around the body, instead of up, and your video gave me the "why." Thx, Rick!
the graphics are really great Rick-cheers!
Excellent Video Rick, love them. Keep up the great work. Your simple explanations and visuals are brilliant :)
Best lessons on pitching I've ever seen or heard. Thank you so much!
Another great video with great little tips. One of the biggest skills that helped my handicap drop from a 7 to a 3 this year has been controlling the height of my wedges. I don't always hit knockdowns like you said, but learning to control the spin and the height of short irons and wedges has helped me get the ball much closer to the hole, especially with wind and elevation changes to the greens.
Love these guides. No nonsense or long ambling introductions with heavy science just simple and well explained. Thank you
Long time golfer, returning after a long hiatus. Rick, your videos are great for all skill levels. You've really brought to light those little tips and tricks that got lost in my mind.
Really like these videos of how to think on the golf course to hit the right club and shot. Keep em coming!
Great video, I liked the editing to track the call flight to put the emphasis on what your explaining! Keep them coming Rick 👍
Love the annotations Rick! Great graphics to help us while listening to you.
Great vid Rick!!!!can you do more real on course tips? chipping / piting, putting, course management, swing thoughts on course....
as you know range is totally different than playing on the field.. so more on course tips, etc would help!
Rick's how to's and various step by step vids are so useful and have helped me improve ma game also and I'm watching this from Scotland and 3 years later when it came out
Since watching you video's, I've purchased my 1st set of vokey Wedges, and love practicing, high, medium, low, with each wedge,....60 56 50 46 degree...I've also moved up to the 1st forward tee after white....This allows me to use my wedges more, and more game control
Great tip, Appreciate the tips. Keep up the good work. Very helpful.
Great help. This arrived at the exact time I'm experimenting with this. Confirmed my thoughts on ball position but added hand position which I will practice. I generally hit the low ball for fear of hitting the ground first. Thanks RS
Best breakdown I've seen of a wedge shot Rick. This was so helpful and the wedge game is so important 👍
Love the videos! Just started to watching 2 weeks ago. All ready fixed slice and irons because of you videos. My score is around 110-120.
Going out this Friday and feeling like I going to hit in the low 90s.
Will let you know. Thanks and please keep up the great videos.
This is going to help my consistency in ball flight. I hadn't put a few of these concepts together until seeing this video. Thanks Rick!
Thanks for the excellent explanation and video Rick. You've really helped my golf game from across the Pond!! Just gotta keep it consistently in the Fairway!!
Great video once again Rick, very educational and you make it so easy to understand.
So good. I'm a beginner and this is the first instruction I have seen on altering ball flight heights with wedges. Thanks for your great content!
It's wonderful to see you performing outdoor. Thanks for the tip,Rick.
Great video one again. It's these finesse shots that make the game so interesting and demonstrates the difference between good players and the rest.
Great graphics (although a bit fast at times) great advice, and very useful information. Great work Rick!
Thanks for this tip, I'm shooting in the upper 80s I should drop a few shots with this tip!
Wow thank you. I have been struggling with my short game part due to bunkers and roughs. I cant break par because of this . You my brother have help me realize a huge part of my problems thank you keep them coming. Also keep reposting your old stuff on FB and Instagram as well no matter what. It's to much to remember can use a refresher 😉👊🏻💪🏼
Superb video Rick! This is so helpful as I struggle to keep my wedges low!
Love your videos. You have a very clear and easily understood way of explaining things.
Thanks for the excellent video and lesson. This is a first video that I have seen like this. I am definitely going to incorporate this into my game. The course management video series and videos like this one should help anyone shave strokes off their game.
Great explanation on how to play those shots Rick, I'll keep it in mind when next I'm in a similar position.
I have been following you for over a year and my game shows it. You have helped me achieve me winning my senior group championship for the "D" players. You rock...
Next year I have my eyes on the "C" group. I just recently moved from 2015 Big Bertha to the new Ping G700. I don't need luck I have you on my side...
Thanks Rick for this video. some great insight into course management. My ball flight is typically low because I have such a forward press in my swing. Great to see how to adjust so I can play a different trajectory when I want. I tend to go back to the forward press so I don't struggle with ball striking. Although I love your course blogs and club testing, I benefit much more from your instructional videos.
Great video on perspective lofts and techniques! Awesome video my man!
top notch rick! Simple , sweet , crisp articulate video. keep it up mate
Thanks for the tips, I really enjoy your vids. Well done!
Very concise thank you - loved the hands finishing tip - I think that will be my new swing thought on these 👍
Time to get out on the range and practise these shots. Very easy to follow - thanks!
Very straight-forward... will practice techniques ASAP!
Excellent instruction. Hadn't considered the lower flight option for back pins. Thank you.
Great production value. Takes the vids to the next level. Not to mention very good content. Well done Rick.
I've wanted to do this for awhile. Thanks for making a good video about it.
Great lesson you helped me out a lot on changing the height of my shot....thank you
I could watch you all day long mate. Awesome content. Keep up the good work
This cleared up so much!
Great video again and so informative and easy to follow .
Such a clear, concise lesson!
Really good again.. we have changed and now just work with your videos buy still see our pro as you recommend... looking forwards to working with them and getting the handicaps down
Fantastic video today! The information and video production was amazing!
Thanks for your tips! I'm finally starting to get the hang of this game!
How much quicker and easier can this much information get? I don't think a single bit, great video Rick!
Great lesson. Thank you!
Loving the videos Rick!
Really simple and clear so keep up the good work mate!
Like the idea of this video and would be great to see a series of videos on course management, working out holes backwards for club selections off the tee and distances for iron shots into greens, using yardage books to work out best positions off the tee and how to approach greens.
Going to be using the driver videos to get more consistent off the tee and look forward to watching more from you.
Cheers
Thanks, learnt something, totally new for me!
I don't typically watch instructional videos, but this helped me a lot. I play a high shot for EVERYTHING. All my irons and wedges. I take minimal divots, and when I do, they're very shallow. I suffer playing in wind. Just the slight differences in ball positions and shaft position is super helpful.
Great tips Rick - I have to be honest I usually hit the high shot for fear of catching the leading edge in the turf and have recently gone back to a more neutral hand position as I was delofting too much. Your video explains the other options beautifully. Something else to practice.
Excellent video learnt a lot. Thanks!
Appreciated the video would like to see more videos like this one!!!
Probably the easiest and clearest explanation. Very important to master. Thanks Rick!
I love seeing videos like this!
hey rick, loving the videos from you and peter, ur videos have helped me so so much, cant thank yous enough! if ever in scotland give me a shout.

I played today and I was talking to my mate saying "I need to take a lesson to learn how to vary my shots". Thanks :)
Excellent video Rick! Superbly produced and very educational! The production value of your lessen videos has really taken off. Not only is the content helpful, expertly delivered and easy to understand but it is also very professionaly done! Keep up the good work! Cheers!
Eckhard Grottendieck I completely agree u don't need any experience in learning golf techniques to understand Ricks videos I have recommended rick to so many new golfers bc of it
Best golf instructions on RUclips hands down!
Rick this is a super great and informative video.. Keep them coming
this is an excellent video, RS!!
Great video Rick, I think the low shot is crucial to master for us here in the UK!
Awesome Video and really great instruction. I prefer der medium to high shots with my 50° Wedge

Great video Rick - positive thinking for lower scores !
simple ideas well presented thanks
Nice tips. I always find it hard to get the distance and the right power in the swing for the low shot. The other 2 are my go to shots. Great channel lots of usefull tips.
Thanks Rick, great vid. I struggle with these shots.
this is the best one i have seen thanks
fantastic lesson
Great video rick, I have only just started to vary my wedge shots. I use four wedges from 45 degrees up to 60 degrees. I know pretty well what they will do in length, but mainly full on high lobs when pitching. Your video has given me food for though.
Great video!!!! Marked this as Favorite!!!!!!
like it Rick, difficult made simple!
Great video both content and production - Keep it up!!!
Great editing and images. Very nice touch
You're the Man Rick

Fantastic tutorial Rick once again 👍
Im loving this!!!
Just come across this again. What a great video
I favor all three shots. like you said it depends on the flag position and wind direction. Another great Ricky Video!!!
Good day Rick! First you are my favorite internet PGA instructor i have seen many times all your incredible, helpful, well done and a wildest range of videos! I have learn so much being a mid beginner and when ever i have difficulties i always come back and look for a video concerning my problem. I just bought a brand new Taylormade EXTRA FULL set RBZ SPEEDLITE as my retirement gift and at the same time raise my quality of equipment! So far so good i made a really good choies cause i brought down my handicap of 4 now at 6. I just wanted to thank you for all your work and passion to the sport and i am sure you helped many many players new and old to get better and enjoying playing lot better golf. Again Thank you and keep up the good work ! If i had 1 request it would be to know more on the approche of the green and selection of wedges starting 130 yards. God Bless. Frank More from Québec city Canada!!!
class video, nice editing really enjoyed it :)
Good info Rick as always. I play the high to mid flight. I hv never even tried to use my wedge to flight it low. I will practice this shot at range and see if I can do as you suggest. Ty
Omg thanks so much. I played so many bad wedge shots in comp today
Thanks ...Always fancy middle Traj.
Excellent video. I have been hitting low stingers with success but was insure why I had that ball flight. Now I know. 😂 It is exactly how I have been setting up.
