Congratulations on your new lid, that’s a beautiful colored helmet. Yours seems a little tight which it needs to be, but it will break in after a few hours of use. I bought the Basalt Grey RF-1400 yesterday, unfortunately the dark smoke shield is on back order and the transition shield is not even available yet. Once it is, I will grab one
Thanks! Yeah after wearing it some more will make it better. It’s a new and hot item, so it will take some time. I preordered the dark smoke back in April with RevZilla and still waiting to this day Lol. I just use my sunglasses in the mean time. Congratulations on your helmet! That color is a hot one too!
I picked up a used one for $400 with a cardo set. Barely used at all. Way nicer than my RF-SR. Also noticeably quieter. Rf-se gets a lot of wind buffeting on the interstate.
May I ask, what is your crown measurement? I'm 58cm exactly, and I'm hesitant to go with the medium though its my size. I know about helmet break-in but afraid that medium would be the wrong size for me. Thanks
I’m 58cm too. The only thing that would matter this the shape of your head. Is it more narrow or round. I had to try out the fit at a cycle gear before I purchased mine. I would recommend trying them on at motorcycle shop. The Shoei was snug but now it’s fine ☺️
Compared to the Icon Airflite helmet it’s pretty quiet. I don’t have issues listening to music. I would remember barely hearing my music in the Icon. But with the Shoei I can actually listen to my music and just ride~~ hopefully that help you out a bit
How did it break in? I had the same problem trying it on at Cycle Gear. Felt like my ears were going to get ripped off but it fit fine once it was on. I've been riding with medium helmets which are too big once broken in so I am switching to smalls. I ordered this one online, haven't received it yet.
The helmet is a lot better once broken in. Still got a snug fit not tight as before and loose like some brands when broken in. The Shoei doesn’t disappoint 😎 from what I’m experiencing
It’s a little more on the round side. I remember having an Icon Airflite that was oval and it was making my rides difficult. With this helmet it might seem like a tight squeeze but I can wear this for a long time. Hope this was helpful
I've had this helmet, in matte blue, for a couple months. It is truly the best helmet ever. It is the perfect combination of being snug and comfortable. However, I cannot figure out the pinlock or silicon seal thing. It doesn't seem as easy as videos make it out to be. I gave up.
You don't know, until you know. There is a reason Arai and Shoei are worn by most of the top racers in the world, and for awhile back in the old days you could find a Shoei helmet painted to look like a competitors helmet, just because the rider was sponsored by the competitor, but knew the Shoei was superior and would ride with a Shoei.
I had a Scorpion and an Icon before getting the Shoei. Believe me I can feel and notice the difference of quality and it feels light because of the design of the helmet. I can wear it for a long ride and have no discomfort.
I just got this helmet, it's my 2nd Shoei since the RF1000 so yeah it's been a long time, once you ride Shoei it's hard to downgrade. I have a bald head too, you should try SA Company Face Shields, I wear them as a head sock under my helmet, they're made for hot weather and help with sweat, and keeps your helmet from getting funky too soon, which Shoei are very clean helmets so with a sock you'd probably last a very long time before having to clean it 👍
The wind noise level is pretty good to me. I am able to enjoy my rides and listen to music without earplugs. But this is comparing to my Previous helmets.
I use Sena 50S on mine and I believe they are 40mm and there is some room still. I wish I can give you a clearer answer on that. The best people to ask if your shopping, RevZilla chat or Cycle Gear local stores they were always helpful when I buy gear.
They will break in, looks like it fits perfectly. he will learn to tilt his head and pull from the chin-bar for an easier removal. When I ordered new pads for my old Shoei, I did go with the larger pads, and at first I thought I would need to go smaller, even had some pressure soreness after 2 hour rides, but now it fits perfect, nice and snug, no pressure points, it's almost 7 year old RF1200. Looking to get a new RF1400 or the X-14 soon.
100% agree to buy the best gear you can. Especially the helmet. Ride safe and ride often. Peace.

I wish Shoei had some other color visors. Personally, I would want a chrome one
I got the large and it was extremely tight. I had to exchange for an XL. I had a 1200 large and it fit perfect to sizing
That’s a nice color wave

@@NoTouchyAndy Thank you :)
Great video ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. How is the Wind noise ?

@@NoTouchyAndy Thats good to hear. Hoping mine breaks in fine then! Thanks.
hey man do you mind doing a video on your GoPro setup?
Thanks for that idea! That something I can make for you :)
Where did you get that gopro mount from? Thanks
I got the chin mount from chinmounts.com they have a slimmer version from what I heard 😊 hope this helps
Hi .. interested in getting one .. do you think it suits a more round or oval head type? How is the comfort for you?
It’s a little more on the round side. I remember having an Icon Airflite that was oval and it was making my rides difficult. With this helmet it might seem like a tight squeeze but I can wear this for a long time. Hope this was helpful
cushion on the top of the helmet is thin and deteriorates after a few years.
The cheek pads are extremely large on it.
What gopro chin mount is that?
Hey! I got it from chinmounts.com for my Shoei
What’s the size of the helmet?
The one I have is Size M

I had the Cycle Gear people install the pin lock for me lol.

@@NoTouchyAndy okay sweet, would you happen to know wether the cardo 45mm speakers would fit in the ear cutouts, or would they be too big?

@@NoTouchyAndy only issue is im in canada. And we dont have nicr motorcycle shops like the states have. Yal are lucky
Buy some smaller cheek pads. It looks too tight
That might help with slipping on and off. But when I wear it on long rides it’s comfortable.
@@NoTouchyAndy cool! Enjoy it and have a safe ride

Seems like that helmet is too tight
It’s seems like it. Once broken in it wasn’t as difficult to put on and it is really comfortable
