Trauma memories are often fragmented and messed up with sensory information improperly encoded. Valenced events are better recalled because we tend to remember them a lot (I.e. call them to mind repeatedly across our lifespan).

The Senate did an investigation that is more thorough than any FBI investigation can possibly be.. because the senate trumps the FBI in federal power..
An investigation by the FBI would have been fruitless because any information they could have found was already known to the senate through their investigation..

drpepperman2765 well it shows the republicans didn’t destroy him. The me too movement and his own previous statements and views drove him to resign before any investigation even... I think Al Franken jumped the gun and shouldn’t have resigned... should have let an investigation happen if he wanted, apologized and moved on...
I also don’t get why the hell you would put him and Harvey Weinstein in a point together... one was a horrific media monster who raped and abused women for decades and whom deserves jail... the other a politician who took a picture touching some women’s boobs on top of her vest... the fact that certain groups of people put those two together sickens me.
Or add in what Cosby was just found guilty of... drugging and raping someone... again NOTHING like Al Franken
Honestly how in the hell can these men be the same in your mind... there IS a difference between cases and accusations and I’m sorry if I don’t agree that all men are these terrible monsters just cause lol
Also are you saying that Harvey shouldn’t have been exposed? Or are you saying it was a bad thing he was? Otherwise your first comment just doesn’t make sense lol
Present evidence, corroborating testimony, witnesses... and see... if you guys go down this path further your country may implode.... convicting people based on their politics being against yours with no regard for if there is ANY VALIDITY to a claim.
Something terrible happened to her no doubt and my heart goes out to her but I thinks she’s wrong about who... even her own witnesses say she is wrong...

No, I have been studying the beast system for 5 years straight after meeting companies working on the mark of the beast. The Lord put this on my heart and basically said the mark is 3 fold, it is also in the mind a persons way of thinking.
      My notes:
Today want to preach on the ANTICHRIT doctrine. It is hard for people to see spiritually and who the real enemy is to humanity. We basically preach on this channel the antichrist is already here, cause we see his spirit and we see those who have the markings of Satan in their forehead, the way of thinking.

Romans 1 Spells it all out, it is the deception that will fool the entire World
#1 People Reject God and his Knowledge
#2 They serve the Creation or Creature rather than the Creator
#3 They change the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man
#4 They turn the truth of God in to a lie
#5 They turn unrighteousness to righteousness of man (holding truth in unrighteousness)
Woe to those who call Good Evil and Evil Good
We are just looking at 5 of the doctrines we are not looking at we are all one, we are all the same, all religions are equal we are Global Citizens
Pope Francis says to see GOD is all people, Pope Francis is a liar and a deceiver who promotes the antichrist doctrine and the Master plan of the Dragon which is Agenda 2030.
      Abortion = Murder
Gay Marriage = Serving the Creature, holding Truth in Unrighteousness = Brings forth the wrath of God

I can't believe the level of outrage over the most mundane words. He called a woman attractive and pleasing...definition of attractive: "having beneficial qualities or features that induce someone to accept what's being offered." This is why democrats lost to Trump, and why I stopped voting left. If y'all extremists would quit crying wolf over every petty thing in the world than maybe people would listen to your ideas. But honestly, the left is so out of touch with real life that the only way to keep relevance is to over-saturate mainstream media with garbage-ass political shows like john oliver and stephen colbert that base political opinions on cheap-shot jokes and belittling comments that hold no weight when rebutted with facts. I hate Trump and this republican nightmare, but it's still better than a world where calling a woman attractive and pleasing is somehow considered abhorrent or disgusting.

There are ways to help cope with it and I would assume for such an event as testifying before Congress - some recovery time would be in order....

My mother, who has been sexually and physically abused by men in her past, was literally crying today FOR Kavanaugh as he testified. Not for the credible woman she could have related to, but for a man crying and being aggressive and angry out of desperation who just might not get this job 😐.
She’s 58, retired, and watches Fox News all day and this is what it does; she doesn’t have the ability to not be partisan and would be taking a different tune only if he was a Democrat. She seriously believes anything they say and shuts down instantly if I want to ever debate the facts, she thinks that Ford was assaulted but not by Kavanaugh and that this is all a giant conspiracy from the Dems (who will lose that seat to a Trump pick regardless of midterms so I don’t see that being plausible ). But regardless of who’s right in this specific matter (because there’s no investigation it’s a he said/she said situation and NONE of us know for a fact), watching Fox News daily has made her a more hateful upset person who struggles with the ability to empathize or make decisions based on fact, not feeling. It’s made it really difficult to bond with her, not that it’s ever been easy, but I’m getting older and trying yet I just wanted to say how Trumpism and Fox News are actually brainwashing our more ignorant and vulnerable citizens.

However, lj033, I completely know what you're talking about. During the last year of my father's life, my mom watched Fox News -- not all the time, but way too much. This woman had so much to worry about anyway, and these ghouls would come on her TV telling her, "Everything's going to hell because Obama! This will be the end of the country as we know it!" They came back for Brett. Brett started to totally blow it, so Lindsay Graham just flips out and starts SHAMING everyone ... and then all the other old men got all grumpy, and then Brett started to get real flippant to ANY Dem question, like it didn't matter, and "I LIKE BEER" ... and senators then whipped out a bunch of beer and started drinking, defiantly. Beer was then being thrown around, and a keg appeared. Some women started dancing. A bunch of the senators lifted up Brett on their shoulders and were yelling YES MEANS NO ... and paraded him around the room. It was crazy.

If there were any "bad theatrics" yesterday, it was absolutely the GOP, especially Brett Kavanaugh himself. He was a joke that could barely keep himself together. Dr Ford spoke clearly and boldly, and she respectfully answered questions from both sides. So much so that when it was over, even Fox News was praising how strong her testimony was.
When Kavanaugh hit the stand, he looked beyond nervous, and the way he answered very simple questions just branded guilty all over his face.
I'm not judging quite yet, but if I had to choose sides after one day, I'm definitely leaning on Dr Ford's testimony.

I noted Kavanaugh's head bobbing up and down, as if to be nodding "yes" as he responded, "No!" to questions being asked. Lindsey Graham in his own book, quoted by Senator Blumenthal regarding how much courage it takes for a victim to come forward, testifying against their assailant. (Paraphrasing) Lindsey Graham should be ashamed of himself for his outburst, essentially wiping away Dr. Ford's testimony.
Kavanaugh's behavior put it in perspective..Add alcohol and there is that belligerence multiplied. His wife's face was very telling as he spoke of "all the women." After the first break, someone made her sit out of the camera's sight.

We had a counselor at our son's high school who explained to a parent's group that people who start drinking heavily (or doing drugs heavily) in their teens actually stunt their emotional development to that age level. His explanation was that rather than learn how to manage uncomfortable situations, they self-medicate and ignore their problems. Therefore they tend to react under pressure the same way that they would have reacted at about the time they start "drinking their problems away."
By the looks of Kavanaugh's testimony, he started drinking heavily when he was about 11 years old.
