Damn I am so disappointed you didn't react to the studio version of this track, with that being said, the live version does it justice pretty well

First haha.. Yes I understand what you say hahaa! And I'm very happy to know your channel. This song is a masterpiece for me and what you said is exactly what I feel, the energy that these songs give me, just amazing. And this guitar solo. i don't even need to say hahaha
    Thank you!

You just earned a sub from me, love it man. Love seeing people actually realize the important things in the band, like how the guitar for parkway is similar to a second vocalist in the way they play their music. The guitar is emotional and you can feel it every song. Check out wild eyes live at wäcken! The way the band just makes you feel everything..... so good.

These are the songs that I miss the most from life performances the feeling of moshing all day in the sun Then the band slows everything down as the Sun is setting, you feel the cool breeze over you, everyone's just in a state of calm and peacefulness taking a moment to breath and regain their energy and then the they slowly build it back up to the mid climax of the show and its like the days been reset and you can go on for the rest of the night

That was exactly what I took from it. Fantastic song.

I'm not sure if you will read this 2 years later. First of all, I'm a huge PWD Fans and I love to see/hear first time reactions. I discovered you today and I love your videos so far.
I became a PWD fan in 2015-16, after IRE was released. It was already their change in style I guess. It took me 1 or 2 years to finally try to listen to their first albums and as a metalcore fan I loved it, but something there was pretty basic for me, even though the riffs and such are obivously amazing and unique. Listening to Deep Blue and so on is like hearing the same amazing song a few times but with different riffs and screams. (I love them all, don't get me wrong) But with IRe and the other new albums, you always get something new, something refreshing. They evolved so much during the years, Thats what I love. And Fans should understand that they are getting older and don't do the basic (amazing) metalcore they used to. But some peope will never grow up I guess.

There are two things that I don't see anyone else has pointed in the comments:
    1. You said that you might not be able to go correctly back and forth on the timestamps. Hilariously enough, the very next moment, you jumped from early in the second verse to midway in the second chorus.
    2. The bass player Jiah was not taking the backseat for that moment, but was rather in a seat already. He was injured few weeks before playing football and therefore toured by performing in a wheelchair. Lead singer Winston introduces him earlier in the show.
The Parkway wheelchair, btw, is a 6th band member live. Rhythm guitarist Luke had toured few years back on it, lead guitarist Jeff did his round for a bit as well.
I have to say though, I like your reactions, the fact that you are taking the song in as a whole and not just the bits and pieces that you want to hear.

    • @PrymalChaos
      @PrymalChaos  2 года назад

Haha. Thanks for the insight! Yeah sometimes the whole thing is intense to take in, in the moment. Mistakes were made.lol.
Also I guess it's a risk having a band of highly active individuals. Surfing, skydiving, football. I guess the wheelchair would be a regular fixture.

For the record this band made music because there was no hardore band in their town and they were higly inspired by the surf video they watched, they wanted stuff heavier to have fun with their mates. Almost all the songs are writen to play live, and that begun since their first album.
They do everything themselves, they wanted a group of friend, so when their bass player left, they basically hired the merchand kids who was traveling with them, who didn't played bass before.

I know I'm 2 years too late with my comment, but I became a PWD Fan with the album IRE, which already was the start of them beeing more complex in terms of their music. It took me 1-2 years to listen to their first Albums, which are obviously amazing in what they do, but in terms of quality, the overall sound of the first albums are pretty similar and thats why I love their newer stuff, even though I also love the old songs. It just proofs that it is important for a band, to not release the same album over and over again

This song feels so epic to me, def their best from the album.
Some of my favorite shows were in the smallest venues.

Yeah. Like I said in the video, it has a deeper spirituality to it. Makes it seem more 'weight-y'. Very cool song.

This album was a great evolution for parkway drive and hopefully metalcore in genral moving away from the screamo sound. Chronos, cemetary bloom, shadow boxing, the colour of leaving are songs that you wont hear from metalcore bands, parkway drive have elevated the genre and are bringing more people in

In time, all find an end." I love that song🙂🙂

At that Guns and Roses gig, they were confiscating lighters at the gate, but selling crappy plastic lighters from some pub for $10. Also, Axl got pissed off and threatened to leave when people started lighting bonfires. I'm pretty sure bodies were used to put those fires out.

Parkway is one of those bands that are 100% better live they defs make their music with the intention of the crowd being able to interact with them and feel alive at shows. I'd highly recommend you check out some of their performances from wacken when they headlined back in 2019 especially wild eyes for some amazing guitarand crowd interaction. They made it all the way to the top pretty much on their own as a band, one of the members is basically their manager and they do a lot to save money, all that money that they save goes straight back into making each show an experience that everyone that attends will never forget weather its your first show or 100th.

I think you should check out Chris Turner - "40 roll", and "Triggered". They are two tracks from one of my favorite drummers and probably the most talented in metal today. He's doing a solo project in which all the drums are recorded as one take and without triggers and snapping hits to grid. I think you'll be amazed at the production and also the drumming... there's a gnarly twist on Triggered

    • @PrymalChaos

Wow! These days that's almost unheard of. I really appreciate musicians who do that. I'll check it out! Believe me, I certainly don't. However I write and record my guitar parts at the same time as part of my process.
I remember in an interview with Pink once, the reporter was fascinated that Pink actually sings live on stage while dancing and doing acrobatics etc. It's well known that most pop acts mime during physically demanding choreography.
Pink's response was something like "yeah.. well I mean, singing is kinda part of the gig, right?"

They are heavy metal now. They stopped with the metal core around deep blue.
