15:30 - Steve Gadd is a wise man, who knows, how to accompaign a percussion-solo. His greatness allows him giving space to the soloist but still acting highly supportive. The interaction is mindblowing. Later on the drum-solo is breathtaking, still an amazing collaboration, but also a brillant solo. May be not the climax during his life concerning virtuosity, but mentally!

Regarding the guitar sound: weather report always had experimental sounds... Same here. I can understand the approach but I would have tweeked it a little...
I have missed this format with a reed player on top of Chick´s great music ever since Joe Farrell passed away (Even if Michael Brecker, Bob Berg and Eric Marienthal have made it more than justice...). Steve Wilson lift the improvisational level,! There is something special with a (sax) horn player. They give the misic a voice.

Hmmmm could be positioning to 'catch/feel the vibe'. I caught an interview with Neil Young earlier today. He said that his favorite place to stand when performing is 'on the back line' tucked in tight between the bass and drums. Says that is his sweet spot onstage for performing.
I have to agree the Guitar would have more impact with a guitar sound. Good Solo though. Chick rarely explodes but always plays well. Everyone else was very solid. No live shows for me cause I need explosive playing and solos but I'm thankful for RUclips.
