  • Health and Success in many things comes from a lifetime of choices and having t he strength to stick to them, plus the desire to learn, adapt and grow. Many people make choices based on instant gratification and comfort, rather than long term investments. Here are things I do that most people don't, which makes a big difference in the lives for those that do.

    I live in Laos. It's a poor less fortunate country in southeast Asia. We can't afford stoves and ovens. We live off the land. We grow our own food, raise chickens for meat, catch fish in rivers. This is why most Lao people are slim and fit. We have to put work to it if we want to eat.

      Yet you.can afford that computer you are typing from. You live like the rest of the developing world. Most people there are slim and fit because they are not fed Western poison. Africa, Asia, South America live off their land and they are slim. The problem starts with poor diets and lifestyles that the world has bought into.

    I don't watch the news or read news papers, ever, I am also an introvert (when I was younger I thought I always had to be around friends, but as I've gotten older, I love getting to know myself), and I am a vegan that eats a ton of raw veggies and some fruits (I have always had a "salty" tooth). I go to bed by 10:30pm at the latest, and wake up at 5am to go for an hour walk, and I also end my showers with cold water. I also meditate everyday, I practice 10 minutes of Wim Hoff breathing (life changing), and I write in my gratitude journal daily.
    I have cut back on alcohol, but still enjoy a glass of wine once in a while, I eat cooked vegan food, that won't ever change, because I love my organic pasta and bread, lol, and I don't think eating it occasionally is bad, and to be completely honest, I have seen too many raw foodist go back to eating animals and their secretions, because they weren't getting enough calories or just not satisfied with only eating raw food. I am getting back into working out more, I am loving my rebounder, but want to include more HIIT workouts.
    For me it isn't about being perfect or staying young (I'm actually enjoying getting older, plus I had my 20's, and I don't want to go back, lol), veganism comes first for me (the animals and the planet), and my health is very important as well, I just want to do what makes me feel and look my best at my age, and that includes all of the above. 😊

      I've been vegan for about 17 years . I eat mostly raw . I also eat alot of fruit which I truly believe we are definitely designed for . I eat tons of big salads daily as well, also steamed veggies . Also I've been adding lots of steamed potatoes and sweet potatoes the past couple years or so and my energy levels , skin , muscle tone , mental clarity and just over all sense of feeling totally satisfied have gone way up . Also my hair is thicker and healthier now . Im.eating more food and have actually lost weight ! I've also cut back alot on the fats like oils , nuts and seeds and avocados and coconuts , just having them occasionally. I haven't been sick in any way in 11 years and U always keep an open mind and continue learning ways to improve upon what I am doing . I've also quit eating chocolate, apple cider vinegar and nutritional yeast , made a huge difference in so many ways 🙂

    I'm a counselor and so far everything I've heard this gentleman say is spot on. I'm super impressed. A bad trend in counseling right now is focusing entirely on how people were victimized in some way. And yes there is a place for that. But if you live your life there you will never grow. This guy focuses on the CHOICES you have to make to change for the better. He is basically telling you to take responsibility for your life by making GOOD CHOICES. This guy is better than most counselors with a degree I think.

    • @TheFilmCouple_
      @TheFilmCouple_ 2 года назад +3

      @Symbat Sabit Hey :) I rarely have grains, but if I do it would be a white rice with lower GI where possible, such as Basmati. Brown rice should be avoided despite it's slightly lower GI as it has many antinutrients such as phytic acid, which leads to dental decay. White rice, especially when soaked, rinsed and cooked is one of the least damaging grains to the digestive system. It does spike blood sugar though. That said, there's no nutritional reason to have it, other than perhaps to assist athletic performance :) I hope this helps

    • @suearamarapstar
      @suearamarapstar 2 года назад

      @Neha Kudalkar i think brown rice is better ecological brown rice with curry olive oil chilli peoper garlic tomatoes .... incouod go on and on

    • @TheFilmCouple_
      @TheFilmCouple_ 2 года назад +1

      @Symbat Sabit You're welcome, I'm happy to hear it helps :) With the brown buckwheat, unfortunately it, and other seeds/grains do all contain certain amounts of these anti-nutrients to varying degrees, with the vast majority being in the skin/bran of the seed/grain. It's natures way to preserve and protect the seed for germination. This can be reduced by removing it, or sprouting or fermenting, or all of the above. Anyone trying to heal their teeth however, I would avoid grains, certain nuts (eg. brazil nuts and sesame seeds some of the worst for dental decay) and seeds completely. To stop and prevent dental decay - this is not to offend any vegans reading this, as it is the best way to heal the teeth... to halt decay and prevent it (and yes I have done this myself) the human body requires pre-formed fat soluble vitamins A,D,K especially K2 mk4 - preformed. Ie. vitamin A MUST be a natural source of Retinol (not beta carotine) and soforth with the other ones. These, plus highly absorbable forms of minerals calcium, phosophorous, magnesium etc. etc. The highest form of all of these is grassfed cheeses whish should also be Raw. Parmigano reggiano is a raw, high quality one which is also lower in salt which is great as other brands can be a bit too salty. That as a minimum while avoiding the grains/seeds will put you in a much better position and should remove sentitivity within hours or days. Ideally (again, for human heeth healing) include this raw cheese, highest quality liver, and raw (if possible) grassfed butter. The more yellow and naturally made the better. I would also include soup with seaweed (eg miso) as this will contain many trace minerals and made in a soup they are highly digestable. I hope this helps and good luck :) I have not had a single cavity in 10 years since including these in my diet and avoiding the antinutrient foods.

      I understand thinking that way...I used to think the same thing. Yes, fruits and veggies are expensive, and I still get pissed off, if I pay premium price for what looks like a nice piece of fruit only to discover its overripe, underripe, basically useless, and a waste of money. Sure seems unfair when you're trying to do the right thing!
      If I were asked, I would simply say just be careful that you're not looking for an excuse to take the easy road. Takes daily vigilance to not fall into a "poor me" mindset.
      I've expanded my horizons by learning about all the wild edibles surrounding me, even in the city (and they're free!). Learned how to "poison test" mushrooms for example. Can grow microgreens in my windows for pennies in all weather, seasons. In a snow-covered, Rocky Mountain winter I can harvest wild green watercress from a shallow creek, still flowing under the snow/surface ice. Have you looked into acquiring the cheap "overripe" bananas and maybe less-than-cosmetically-pleasing-looking veggies in your supermarket? Point is, have you explored ALL possibilities in your area?
      And best of all, from doing these things, I learned how little food I actually need to not just survive but thrive, which makes the expense argument somewhat moot. Good luck.

    Great content as always - I love this one! I always thought I had a "clean" diet, but since changing things up and tweaking more over the past 3-4 years, I've started hearing my BODY telling me where to work and what to change - or cleanse, that sort of thing, on the inside. It talks to you!!! WILD! When your body is telling you, do a liver cleanse; your colon is clean for now - or cleaner, but we need to work on the liver; that's when you know what this is all about! I seldom have cravings of any kind anymore - unless - and this is where I listen to my body telling me I'm lacking something. It is incredible what the body will tell you when you start treating it like a temple - God's design. I'm far, far, far from anything perfect, but this stuff that Markus and Cara talk about is real! And the products are the best of the best! 💖💖💖

At 59, I'm more of a recluse because I don't want to hear about the pills & surgeries people in my age group take and talk about. The greatest compliment I get is when I go to a community pool and someone asks me if I'm old enough to live here and if I've done botox or fillers.

    Too much fasting actually messed with my hormones. It's such a fad these days, I think it's important to listen to your own body. The dose makes the medicine. And we are all different with that dose. Same with hiit training. I did it for years and just recently noticed my body never liked it and needs more yin, restorative exercises like yoga and light cardio instead. We are all different and unique and it has nothing to do with being avg or not. There are loads of avg ppl doing all those things, fasting, ice baths, and whatevers trending these days. What separates the avg ppl with the successful are the ones who listen to their internal guidance not what others are doing (though they can help to some extent). Copying what someone else does ain't it. Its listening to your own individual wisdom.

      Yes very well said. everything is medicine and everything is poison depending on the dose. his intention is good but I consider some of his routines bordering on self harm, especially from an emotional standpoint. More emphasis on being kind to yourself rather than beating yourself into submission would go a long way. And what makes us imperfect also makes us lovable. 😅

      @prezedentx 2 года назад +2

      Yes, yes, yes. I agree! Your internal guidance system can tell you everything you need to know in order to succeed. Sometimes that internal guidance system is difficult to listen to but with focused attention it will lead you down a path to your every desire. Wise words. 🙏

      @@Koort1008 Yes how you break it is even more important than the fast itself in my opinion. I used to mess that up a lot eating too much but I slowly learned how to do it properly. And for me lots of raw vegetables is the worst! Everything I thought I was "supposed" to do turned out wrong because I was listening to other people instead of really feeling MY body. Ive done probably 70 days in a year and a half of fasting but from my experience women need to be much more careful than men when it comes to fasting and it should never be done long term. I experienced the benefits but then stayed on slightly too long. I have hypothalmic amenorrhea and adrenal issues but slowly am regaining all my strength back, NOT from hiit or cold showers or lots of raw harsh vegs. People have good intentions and are trying to relate the invisible dynamics of their success but it has nothing to do with a list of things to check off. It's being in alignment with YOUR truth.

    I eat at 12 a salad then working then eat around 5 pm and stop at 6 latest. I go to bed at 10. So my body dont get food for 18 hr´s. The only exception is when i have to work at night. There i need a minimum of food, just to keep the machine running. My experience is that i have crzay amount of power and energy. Can work without break and get a hundret times more stuff done. That wasn´t always the case. I´m coming from eating pasta my whole life. BBQ, meat, pasta, deep in the nigth etc. until once my body had an issue and i found my self on the operation room in the hospital. That was 2018. From this day on i changed everything and just followed my intuition. And it was the best thing i can do. I still eat meat, but only once a month or all two month and then only a high quality meat. I found your channel this year (2023) and i am happy that you say the truth.

      What are you experiencing from a cold shower? 😱
      I am usually cold from intermittent fasting and thinking about cold showers makes me shiver....
      Just curious...

    • @broadcasttttable
      @broadcasttttable 2 года назад +3

      @@nandiamond9099 At first just the anticipation made me look for any excuse to delay turning the dreaded faucet knob to the "cold" position. When I did the cold would take my breath away and usually evoke a yell and shortness of breath. But I would do it even though any slight shift in position would trigger another gasp. That's the gory details...lol.
      While showering I'd be heating my towel in a dryer, and post-shower, would reward myself with a hot towel wrapped around my shoulders sitting in an 80 degree bathroom.
      Benefits? For whatever reason it seems to have lessened my food appetite, and I have energy all day. My mind is sharper. Also do deep breathing exercises under the spray. Used to take midday naps (I'm 72) but don't feel the need for those anymore. All in all, it just seems that after a cold shower I can handle anything the day throws at me: it's brand new, the past doesn't exist, everything's fresh, like its all downhill from there. Aren't you glad you asked?...lol.

Perhaps the onset of being older and retired has something to do with mindset. Now I want to be energized and get out of my comfort zone so thank you for taking the time to share your experience.
