Happy Thursday everyone! We’ve got a two video post today and after you’re done watching this Luxury+, be sure to also watch our full review on the off-road ready Overtrail+ trim! Which trim would you guys choose for yourself?
You said in the video the upcoming hybrid will have the 2.4L iForce Max with 10-speed - is that true? I've only seen with the old 6-speed. That would addess the main downside of that powertrain IMO. The TX350 gets far better highway mpg than 500h bc it has the 8-speed instead of the old 6-speed.
Had a privilege to sit inside one at the Washington dc auto show. Everyone wanted to see it and sit inside. Lexus definitely hit a home run with this vehicle
Hopefully a hybrid powerful v6, it's a big heavy vehicle , probably be underpowered with a 4cyl. It seems underpowered already with only 349hp an garbage mpg
As a taller (6' 2") driver, the big problem that I have noticed in newer vehicles is the lack of safe visibility out of the front windshield. They try to put the safety monitoring equipment in a black box at the top middle of the windshield.. And now Lexus made that black box even bigger.. see at (24:20).. Unfortunately, now the location of that black box (plus the rearview mirror itself) really hurts the drivers own ability to view out for safe driving. When it comes to safe driving, I trust my own eyes and vision much more than techie safety monitoring devices at the top middle part of the windshield. You would be surprised at how important that whole top middle part of the windshield is for good, safe driving visibility. They need to find another place on the vehicle to put safety monitoring devices so you can look out of the front windshield safely.
What a beautiful view from the second row! This would be a great roadtrip car. Love the large windows. The backseat makes me feel claustrophobic as usual.
As far as I'm concerned, a third row on anything besides a full-size SUV is for small kids only. Even then its a limited time experience. The best in class currently is the Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
I'm probably dreaming, but I'd legit pay $90k USD for this with the 3.4L V6 hybrid, 20 mpg combined, sub 6.0sec 0-60, and closer to that old Lexus luxury on the interior. Seems line that's a pipe dream but BOY would that be beautiful 😍
You should consider incorporating a parking test, or at least a turning radius test. That would be really helpful with larger cars, like these as that may help viewers better understand the overall size of the vehicle.
to work out what kinks?? these cars are of the highest quality... top 3 in the industry.. with new car warranty idk whu wouldn't trade in your MDX if u can afford it

and now it needs premium fuel because it's a direct injection twin turbo. Since premium costs 30% more than 87 octane, this equates to 13mpg (when using cost per mile, which is a much more useful figure than MPG in a world where most cars require premium)
SUCH A GREAT REVIEW ! Now I’m stuck between this or the 2023/2024 GX460 after I graduate nursing school this July by gods grace 😂👏🏾 a gift too myself Frfr 🤞🏾
Its over for Range Rover and rightfully so. I always thought it was so stupid for Range Rover to build some of the most attractive SUVs in the market and refuse to fix their reliability issues. They will soon regret this once this GX hits the market. They simply wont be able to compete. Im calling it now, The Gx will kill Range Rover sales.
My assessment is based on what I observed at the Auto Show in California. For comparing this SUV, I recommend examining others. To attend, both my wife and I had to pay a $30 fee, and I was particularly eager to personally see the Lexus GX due to the hype surrounding it as a large off-road SUV. Before I outline the positives and negatives, I want to express my anticipation spanning decades for the GX to unveil a new design. However, I am disappointed with what I encountered. Pros: * The shape is commendable, featuring a perfect boxy design akin to competitors such as the Defender, Jeep Cherokee, and GMC. * While the central infotainment system is not groundbreaking, it maintains consistency with other Lexus models, which is acceptable. * Cons: * There are numerous drawbacks. The model I viewed exceeded $77k and lacked the ML sound system. * The absence of a panoramic sunroof, now a standard feature in modern vehicles, detracts from the luxurious experience. * The panoramic sunroof in the Luxury+ model is underwhelming and seems to mimic the idea from the Venza, which has been on the market for over six years. * The quality of leather and interior falls short compared to other SUVs in the same price range. Even the Toyota Highlander boasts superior interior quality. * The exterior feels excessively plastic, particularly upon contact with the bumper, hood, and other body panels. * Leather quality across all trims is subpar. * Fuel economy poses a significant issue in 2024, averaging only 17 mpg. * Many materials exude a cheap feel, failing to deliver a luxurious experience. * If one opts for all available options on the Lexus GX 550, it may be preferable to choose the LX 600, which offers a higher level of luxury and power. * For a better depiction of luxury, consider examining the Infiniti QX80: ruclips.net/video/NMzD7nLQlDY/видео.html I've been a longtime enthusiast of this SUV, but now, even surpassing $80k plus tax, it's hardly worth the investment. In 2024, there's a myriad of alternative options I've contemplated, including the Ford F150 Electric, Rivian, Cybertruck, GMC Denali AT4, Sequoia, and the Volkswagen Atlas Off-Road version, among others, boasting advanced technology and commendable qualities. Toyota and Lexus seem to be marketing very basic vehicles under the guise of reliability. Many individuals I conversed with at the auto show shared my sentiment that the GX 550 pales in comparison to the 460 in terms of quality, feeling cheaply constructed. It appears that RUclips influencers may be sponsored by Toyota and Lexus, with many Toyota dealers hyping these vehicles on social media to attract buyers. This SUV no longer epitomizes luxury, not by a long shot. If you disregard reliability and juxtapose it against brands like BMW, Audi, and Land Rover, it's disheartening to witness its decline. Purchasing this vehicle entails enduring it for another six years solely to mitigate depreciation, while numerous other automakers are already introducing superior and more advanced technology. At present, I must explore alternative options, as this SUV is not worth $85k out of the door, if you're fortunate enough. Best wishes with your new purchase. Just bear in mind, many individuals are compensated for endorsing Toyota and Lexus brands, and I've encountered numerous instances of Toyota dealers leveraging social media to generate interest in these vehicles. In conclusion, this is merely my perspective. Enjoy your new purchase
Does Lexus Safety Sense 3.0's lane tracing assist reliably keep the car centered in its lane even on freeway curves? How does the lane centering of this lexus compare with Tesla's autopilot? Thanks!
The TX has unibody construction (i.e. car based) & this GX is body-on-frame (like pickups) with a live rear axle. A car based SUV will always have a better ride. Sofyan also mentioned this. Watch for a few seconds starting at 27:29.
