Frank!!!! GET YOUR ASS BACK OUT ON TOUR AND BRING IT BACK TO DALLAS. I WAS BLESSED TO SEE YOUR CONCERT AND MEET YOU AFTERWARDS. I WILL NEVER FORGET IT GOD BLESS YOU FRANK AND THANKS FOR ALL THE YEARS.
Frank is part of my HENDRIX TRIUMVERATE I saw Jimi Hendrix in May of 1970 I saw Robin Trower in November of 1976 But no Frank Marino Rarely if ever toured the Philadelphia area I would have loved to see him.
Met this man's music my freshman year in HS. Thank you, Mr. Marino, for providing some of the best guitar playing I've ever had the privilege of listening to 👍
Frank is the only celebrity I ever emailed...to tell him how great his playing was...and how much I appreciated Live at The Agora Theater....and I got a personal reply. Great guy!!
I was wondering how to contact him via email. I drew a cover of Tales of the Unexpected album in highschool and still have it to this day, I wanted to mail it to him and see if he would sign it as he won't be touring anymore! I would appreciate it! Cheers!
Love this awesome man, met him several times, I presented him with some posters I had taken at the previous show at House Of Blues in Cleveland, went back stage with him and showed him the posters which he loved and he signed them. They are beautifully framed hanging on my wall.
I can't even count how many times I've said this... Frank Marino has had more influence on my own playing, (I'm a bass player) than almost any other musician anywhere... It's the songwriting, and the dynamics, and the intensity... (and the bass lines)... I get more positive feedback on my own performances than I may deserve, but it's because I'm wired to play with intensity... Which came right off of the early Mahogany Rush albums... Thank you Frank for all the inspiration... FM...
Sooooo Cool. Saw him live and he opened with: "The Answer" straight into "Dragonfly" = EPIC. Glad you are still doing your thing. Your playing has inspired me as a guitar player. Cheers from NYC.
Definitely one of my favorite musicians and people ever. Used to go see him every year at Winterland, and always looked forward to seeing Jimmy, Paul and Frank. Wonderful memories, still a fan.
I fell upon Frank online about 5 years ago and have been nothing but blown away by the man's talent as a song writer, singer and guitar player. He's one of the most underrated, under-appreciated musicians of all time.
I definitely understand his point in why radio stations only played covers but Franks covers of those songs he mentions are out of this world and in my opinion, way better than the originals.
Frank Marino, Gary Moore and Jeff Healey are definitely the three pioneer guitarists of the blues-rock genre! Fantastic feel, phrasing, tone and song writing!
God bless you Frank Marino. I have been your fan for decades. You are my second biggest influence. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. RESPECTFULLY, L. Albert Jackson Munoz
Frank there are covers, and then your ones. You have that rare ability to inject new life in to old songs that very few musicians have. Your originals are excellent it's begun to rain is an example.
I was 15 in 76 when I started playing. Joe Perry,Ted Nugent,Billy Gibbons and Frank Marino were my influences. I must have had every pedal Electro Harmonix made trying to sound like Frank. Its a fairly straight forward setup he was using knowing what I know now but back then I was clueless. I did not know a Big Muff from a chorus from a phaser? His sound and speed fell into that magical catagory. Then EVH showed up and after hearing Eruption I quit guitar for a month but thats another story.
One of the best guitar players ever. I started following him in the mid 70’s after I had a couple of years behind me of playing guitar. Sooo hard to play.
One of the best LIVE Jammers of all time!I've seen Frank about 6 or 7 times, and everytime I have,he always finds a way of surprising you...Truly an Icon on the Montreal music scene!Rock on brother. Most musicians trying to make their way in the business these days would be well advised to catch some of his gigs..they would definately realise what (performing) to a crowd is all about!! Play Play Play. Only way to get the funk out is to get out there and FUNK it up! :) Luv ya brother :)
Saw him with Judas Priest and Fandango..late 70s Santa Monica Civic...one of the best concerts I have ever seen...and he is such a humble down to earth guy..and he has a cat..good dude
I saw Mahogany Rush play at Westmount High around 1970...they blew our minds at the morning assembly as a teaser. I think they started off playing the Montreal high school circuit.. Does anyone remember seeing them back then? I saw them again in 1972 at some bar across from the Montreal Forum that must be long gone.... I've lived in the U.S. for 35 years. His honesty and directness are refreshing. Long live Montreal.
THANK YOU FRANK.YOU ARE MY MAN.FOR ME YOU ARE THE BEST.I LOVE YOU AND YOUR MUSIC.GO AHEAD MAN.I LOVE THIS GREAT CRAZY GUITAR AND I TRY TO DO LIKE YOU.GOOD LUCK
Frank come to Denver in the springtime.....I had your tunes on my adrenaline hits cassette tape I recorded when I used to run thru the city. You say the station never even played Somethin's Comin' or Finish Line?!? WHAAAA? You are the musician's musician. Love and Respect.
For those who don't know CHOM pronounced "Shoam" is a Montreal radio station and Tootall is a DJ on that station. Here in Columbus Ohio on WLVQ the ONLY Frank song they play is Strange Dreams and quite rarely!! At least it's not a cover tune!
I love this band I love the heck out of Steve Marino and I would definitely go see them if they ever come to Fort Worth or Dallas they are very very very underrated in my opinion
Saw Frank Marino..and mahogany rush 4 times in Albuquerque n.m. and phoenix az...we would drive 300 to 600 hundred miles round trip to fight our way down front to rip off his licks...yeah thats one way you learned back then...he was fluid fast ...and tasty...thanks for all that you inspired me to do...still ..."crank up frank"
When i was in living Germany in 1992, i was in a record store asking the owner for assistance.A German guy heard me speaking English and he asked me where i was from. When i said, Montreal, he asked me if i had ever met Frank Marino. When i said that i once was in a Montreal bar when Frank walked in to ask a guy in my party a question about getting together later, and that i was introduced to Frank and even shock his hand, the guy was estactic. Frank's his fav axe-man.Frank had his hair short then.
He had a band name-Mahogany Rush-that, he says, wasn't actually a band name at all. “It was the name of an experience,” he clarifies. “It was a description of the acid trip I was on-I told the doctors I was having 'mahogany rushes. ' ”
When i realized it was really Frank Marinio,i didn't want to make a fuss so i shook his hand and said it's nice to meet you.Frank had to leave right away so we didn't have a chance to talk. Frank's brother Vince and i almost became friends, when he was doing sound for a band one night, and i was a DJ in the Moustache bar (now closed down) but i didn't want him to think i wanted to be his friend just because Frank was his brother. Frank and VInce were really nice guys, easy going and grounded.
What a talent who is such a down to earth person! No wonder he could care less about the music industry. He is too grounded to pay attention to them. He has another short interview take which he explains how happy he is being downloaded and does not care about the money or the music industry.Thank goodness the next generation will have a different approach to make the music!

To see the man humble as he is makes me cry. 30 years wondering about what kind of a guy he is off the record and this clip shows it. THE MAN!
Great comment - we all wonder how these geniuses are... he's definitely into the music,, not the fame...
Met this man's music my freshman year in HS.
Thank you, Mr. Marino, for providing some of the best guitar playing I've ever had the privilege of listening to 👍
Truly a FANTASTIC player.

Not just a great player but a fantastic down to earth guy 👍
The greatest guitarist in history, the icon, the legend Frank Marino.
I was fortunate to see him twice in the 70's opening for Nugent and stealing the show and once at The Channel in Boston.
"If you are a good guy you can be in the band". I like that as an American musician. Saw Frank way back in the day. Great guy and Band.

THE GREATEST GOOD INTERVIEW
I miss C.H.O.M. They played what they wanted to play. Today's "classic rock stations " have 3 bands. Queen, Fleetwood Mac, and Tom Petty!
Love Frank ❤️
