Thanks for the video, I needed that. I'm not as tough as you. When installing the new belt, I could not quite turn on by hand. I'm 68 and not as tough as I used to be. I did do something that really helped me though. I got the belt started on the bottom of the secondary as much as I could turn it, then used a socket and breaker bar on the secondary pulley nut and rotated it right on.
I like the technique. I have another. Take a two inch piece of any old belt and the rubber handles on a pair of channel locks or whatever. Put the handles in between the second clutch and wiggle back and forth while pushing the belt chunk down at the same time. When you get the piece about an inch or two down the new belt will slip right on. I'm making a video soon when my new belt shows up..👍👍
Why doesn't Kawasaki recommend us to force a belt on if it's not necessary to pull the flywheel all I can think of is internal damage that we cannot see which could cause the belt to fail sooner than it could have
When you buy a Gatez belt, the instructions specifically tell you not to put the belt on this way. I put a belt on my brute force like this a few weeks ago and just blew it apart today. I curious if it's not because I used this method, seemed like it was really stretching the shit out of it it trying to get mine on.
That belt was loose. It's almost impossible to change a belt in this manner when the deflection is set right. And the only way to get the deflection right is to disassemble the secondary clutch. I would only attempt the method you used if I was stranded in the middle of nowhere. Why risk a hernia if the bike is sitting in your shop right next to all your tools?
I need to change my belt on my 07 Brute 650, I was reading on Gates website, stumbled on accident, it says to clean the contact surfaces thoroughly. Is this necessary I’m not not saying for or against but I haven’t seen anyone do this. It also says to break the belt in with 2 heat cycles letting the bike rest to cool etc. what’s your thoughts, thanks great video.
I can see in an emergency situation forcing the belt on and off. But I can also see in my mind not with my eyes how it can damage your belt your new bill especially when you spending high dollar for the original equipment belt Kawasaki service manual recommends 240 flywheel why doesn't RUclips mention to put a fly wheel if you are in a suitable working condition garage or building whatever to avoid this stress point in forcing the belt on the ATV?
No. There should not be any oil whatsoever inside the cvt belt housing. I would inspect the seal around the cvt housing first. You may want to check for oil intrusion from the engine itself. If oil from the engine is not a problem, clean the clutch sheaves with brake parts cleaner then try sealing the cvt housing with dielectric grease.
I got the same problem. Owner blew a belt. I cleaned the clutches/sheaves and put on a new belt. Same problem. Someone said it might be strands of belt caught up in the clutches somewheres, but I looked it over. But I haven't taken the primary off yet. Another said that the secondary needs to be shimmed, a dealer mechanic also said this.
@@rezifiedoutdooradventurez1441 Makes sense, I did fix it since my last comment, it did end up needing shims like you said. I bought a puller tool off Amazon and removed the secondary, shimmed it, cleaned it up and re-installed. No squeal now and it drives normal. Of course the shims are only available at a dealer and they weren't cheap, just overpriced washers.
Need to be able to do this in the field without tools but you are showing us how to do it with the plastics off, the cover off (which you need tools for)??? Doesn’t seem like something That is meant to do in the field without tools like a snowmobile belt would.
Some belts are directional just make sure to always install the belt with the writing and numbers on the belt going the same direction as engine rotation (( IF )) the clutch drives are on the Right side of the Engine !! For example you read from left to RIGHT ... & most engines Right Side Drives rotate Clockwise to the RIGHT !! Left Side Clutch Drives Rotate Counter Clockwise .... And Belt Squeak Is Normal Until 2 to 3 hrs of Run Time On A New Belt !! Thanks - Matthew
Full 100% info of fake shit, my '05 750 has never even "once" over heated, including hot trail riding +30 days. It can run hot for sure..never over heated though.
You make it look easy! Now, I have the courage and know-how to try this myself!
Thank you!

I already ordered the puller, but I might try this first, just to see if I can. Thanks for posting, and glad you were able to do it.
Thanks!!! You just saved me a few days of waiting for a puller. I cut the old bad belt off and rolled the new one on.
Glad I could help!
Smart man
I did that too. Belt seems too much slack. How do I tighten it?

Man, that looks a lot smarter and easier than possibly snapping the bold head off like I read one guy did...

That was exactly the reason why.
This was very helpful now i know next time i rip the belt i ripped it on my 2019 brute force 750 and i took it to Ride Now and they charged me $290!!!
Thank you for this . Would be nice to see the process from a fully encased clutch [removal of casing etc]
Not much to see, just remove 8 bolts and an air hose and it's off.
yeah buddy that's how it's done! I've never used a tool on any sled I've ever owned
Need to shim the driven pulley to tighten belt alittle more
Extra play in belt is probably due to the auto de tension that it has. Turn on and watch it get tighter?
NICE! Save's time sir. Thank you.

currently sitting on the side of the road watching this 🤦♂️
To clear limp mode u have 2 options, this is caused by excessive slack on belt
1 remove the roll pin from the belt switch
2 shim ur driven pulley
I always thought the clutch needed to be reshimed when putting a new belt on
Seems like that would stretch the belt by forcing it. Its 1 bolt reverse threads to pull the clutch off
Seems your dumb as a box of rocks. Good luck changing thst belt on thr trail
If anyone is dumb then that would be you! All I said seems like it would stretch the belt and your reply was a insult! Good way to run a page dumb ass
Naw man it won't stretch the belt with the force from just doing that. These things are mega strong
Belt reset on 2017 750 brute force? Your the man if you can show this
so would it be ok to just cut the old belt off instead of pulling it off?
Always quality define video..love the way where shown..
Thanks for watching!
ok so why does the belt manufacture says NOT to pry them on???
Great video, I cut my old one off, it had done 250 hours

I broke the connection with the 2 wire coming out it under the seat wat is the connection piece called
Wow get that belt 💪💪🤯🤯
Because the exhaust of my four-wheel drive brute force 750
Well what in the fock do you do if your belt isn't that worn skeletor?
Just came across your channel subbed i needed this video thanks!!
Anyone know where the Serial number/VIN # is located on the Brute Force 750 (2005-2007)?

Can this belt be installed backwards causing smoke?
hmm - not really./
What was the belt number he used?
Louis you didn’t reset the belt light.
Michael Johnson good point!
Love it
Saved me so much time
Pretty similar to getting excavator tracks back on hah (horrible thing to do which i have too much experience off)
How do I tighten the belt?
Sweet brother
Great video. I removed the cover and found a lot of oil like substance inside the converter area. Is that normal?

If oil from the engine is not a problem, clean the clutch sheaves with brake parts cleaner then try sealing the cvt housing with dielectric grease.
So if you got oil from engine check behind the clutch
Sometimes the crank seals leak and get in there.
Do you know the torque specs for the cover? I can’t seem to find them, I’m going to replace the belt on mine next week
Did you just remove the cover and change the belts out? So do I need to do anything to the clutch?
No
Thanks for posting this. Will this also work on a 2003 Prairie 360 4X4?
It should
Probably saved some people a lot of money.
Thank you
will the belt cause the motor to seaze
if i tried to shift to different gear while moving ?
do u think it's the wrong belt
Do you need to take all that plastic off or just the cover?
hmm, i cant remember exaclty
No you dont nor the clutch haha. I got it. Great video
Was that belt better to use then the stock one
Ultimax I've had the best luck with.
Would it be possible to just cut the old belt to get it off (if it’s in a not reusable condition)?
I would imagine so, but it would probably be easier to just take it off like he showed in the vid. Those belts are quite tough.
Thanks!
outstanding
I did this on my 03' KVF 650, now the belt squeals and it creeps when in forward or reverse. Any idea whats going on?

@@DodgeMan360 Yeah I took the secondary off and there was only one thin shim... Had owner contact the dealer and get some shimms.
The Brute Force still running?
No I sold it

its tough but you can do it
Cut the old belt and roll the new one on
That doesn't stretch out or hurt the belt at all?
No it will not hurt the belt >
The force you use to put the belt on isnt even as close as the force the engine puts on it.
Thx
Is it normal if I just replaced my belt and while in gear, with the break in stopped the new belt squeaks a little bit? Or does that not sound right

Joseph Krause A light squeal is actually ideal. It means you're on the tight side of the deflection range, which is good.
Does the rear end need to be lifted for the clutch to move free?
just put the bike in neutral
i have a kawasaki teryx 750 belt broke i replace it with Gates 19G3218 it squeak went i put it in gear
Try to use genuine kawasaki belts. Ive tried all brands amd the origibal is the toughest with big mud tires. The gates i went thru quick
I had the same issue did yours ever go away or did you go to a kawasaki belt
@@Richard-gy1fo about
how long do the belts last?
Vid to short. Good tho.
The kawasaki is full on shit over heat every 5 minutes even from factory accept if you going full throutel for a second then going 4 miles and hour

Sucks, not complete video
All that work for a $13.00 tool that won’t stress the belt. Nothing like teaching a whole new generation on how not to do a job.
Ya I just taught a germination how not to spend all their money on amazon.....
