I just bought a 08 brute force 750 and it has problems when I open up the throttle and backfires here and there I’m thinking it’s the fuel pump but would really like some input about this.. I will ask again Sunday
watch all my troubleshooting videos. The answers are all there. If its down on power, you did a leakdown test and its good it is likely the fuel pump. Did you do a fuel flow test as outlined in my backfiring video?
my brute force 750 has no electricity. turn the key nothing, put a new battery, nothing. checked the fuses, good... good video. I have a winch and a powered plow
If the main fuse is good, then either the ignition switch is bad or the battery. Load test the new battery, verify the main fuse is good with a test light.
I have a 2008 brute force 650i. Is there a good video out there that describes how to diagnose and fix fuel pump issues? I directly fed fuel straight into the Carb through the fuel line and it fired right up.
My stator went in my 2013 brute 750. First stator issue i have ever had in my life and i'm not too happy about. Its a 1200.00 dollar cost here in canada for just the parts. I ended up going to a rm stator for around 420 if i remember correctly. So far it has been working okay ,but just yesterday i was riding alone 5 miles back in the bush with a new set of camso t4s tracks that i just installed and when i shut the bike off to take a break it would not start again..Just click click..It turns out that if you are running with your lights on, fan running and poking your way through trees turning alot this thing will kill the battery in a matter of minutes. The kawasaki uses a 14 series battery and a stator system which are both too lite for the heavy loads of the newer bikes.

I bought a 2008 brute force 650 I. It’s been beat ,,,gas spitting out the exhaust....I checked the carbs theg seem fine ,,,,I’m wondering if the last guy put the fuel “ pump “in backwards
I bought my 750 used. It’s a 2012 and I absolutely love it. It came with everything but snorkels. I’ve just had to replace the belt because the CVT light kept coming back on after the reset. So with that being said the light still comes back on after reset. As soon as I shut down the bike and turn the key back on the light is blinking again. Could this be a battery issue? I’ve had to jump it a couple of times after not riding for extended periods of time. Unrelated I just put a new seal in for the front Drive shaft ( engine side) and did an oil change.

Is it true that these engines are prone to spinning rob bearings? Just picked up a fair condition 2008 650. It’s not been taken care of and about to clean it up. Seems like the ECU may be bad. Wondering if this unit is worth investing the time to clean it up and possibly rebuild the engine. Only paid $750 for it….. Thanks!
They are not prone to it but if you regularly abuse it and it's in the water I've seen it. Also I've seen the oil full of fuel and coolant. That's when the bottom end goes boom. Check your oil daily.

It will die pretty much as soon as I come to a stop. Works great otherwise. Have any tips on what it may be? Thanks! And I did hit the subscribe button!
Forgot to mention it is Fuel Injected. I know 08 was the first year for EFI but wasn't sure if there was still an option for carburetor models of the 750.
So even though it only dies at idle you think it could be pump or screen? I had a 2016 750 that I had to replace screen because it would bog at full throttle but it idled fine. Not questioning your expertise.
Hey have a 2008 brute force 750 n I'm getting fuel up to the injectors but want run I can pour fuel in the carburetors and it cranks up off that gas do you have a clue of what's going on here
Question I have a 08 650 it runs normal without the lights if I use the regular lights it drains the battery very fast the light bar by itself doesnt drain it as bad I unhooked the winch do you think it's the stator I cant find any answers online
Sorry to be a pain to ask the experts again; I have the 2008 carb version of the brute force 750 KVF . although they have put Injection on a lot of the models, other than this is the engine kind of the same. I am going to do an oil change in the spring, and it seems there are 1000 and 1 labeled models out there. Regard oil filters, should almost any brute force 750 oil filter fit, or do I have to be more selective regards it fitting.
I have an 08 750fi. I have replaced the fuel pump, i removed the screen in the pump housing, I have checked flow and pressure. The machine still hesitates, backfires and wont rev out properly. What should i check next?

I completely rebuilt carburetter and I’ve always had a hanging idol. I adjust the idle to keep it from stalling and then it revs to the moon and then have to turn it down. It has tons of power and starts really easy….any ideas?
Is the cable kinked? Linkage hitting anything?
@@HammerHeadGarage not that I can see but I’ll be checking again. Have to lube the lines anyway. Read somewhere your from the valley, was just in Chester for Xmas to see my uncle, retired navy. Spotted lots of promising trails.
I put a hole in my radiator and bought a new one and am debating weather I should do it myself or bringing it to a dealer. I just dont know how much disassembly Im going to have to do. If rhe front plastic has to come off i will lose these screws and futz stuff up. Im mechanically pretty s quick as i grew up on a farm so i understand how things work. What do you think?
It's mostly just a whole bunch of unbolting and re bolting. I'm sure you can handle it.
great video! love the info!
Any idea what would make the main fuse blow after I hit the start button? I just got the 750 today and can’t figure it out! Thank you in advance
Try unplugging the voltage regulator. If it doesn't do it now your regulator or the wires are shorted to ground.
i accidently hook a battery wrong way and i heard a fuse blown and have no power at all when i turn a key on ! i check box with a fuses all looks good any ideas what else might happen ???
I have a 2013 750 and it keeps bogging out and losing all power do u have ant idea what it could be?
I just bought a 08 brute force 750 and it has problems when I open up the throttle and backfires here and there I’m thinking it’s the fuel pump but would really like some input about this.. I will ask again Sunday
watch all my troubleshooting videos. The answers are all there. If its down on power, you did a leakdown test and its good it is likely the fuel pump. Did you do a fuel flow test as outlined in my backfiring video?
I’m in Halifax, do you have a shop around? Would love for you to go through my brute force.
Thanks man!!
my brute force 750 has no electricity. turn the key nothing, put a new battery, nothing. checked the fuses, good...
Check out my back firing fix video. I'd replace your fuel pump.
Thanks, I will check it out. @@HammerHeadGarage
I have a 2021 Brute 750 With stock wheel on it but i'm putting on 14" wheel but i don't know the off center can you help me with that
My stator went in my 2013 brute 750. The kawasaki uses a 14 series battery and a stator system which are both too lite for the heavy loads of the newer bikes.
you have an electric draw somewhere that exceeds the output of your new stator. Check all the grounds and do a draw test on the battery.

I have 2011 brute 750. It needs belt change. I’ve watched several videos where after removing bolts and sock they just pop off housing. I cannot get my clutch housing off to replace the belt. Is there trick doing it?
I’ve pulled and pulled have all bolts removed and sock. Cannot get it to budge.
They can be a bear, use alot of penetrating fluid.
Hey i have a sensor and i have no idea what it is or goes to i have trouble reading schematics. It's a 4 wire connector from left to right yellow white red black . On the front of the harness, and has a hole burned through it . Any help is appreciated oh and has a little rubber nipple to mount it somewhere no numbers at all.

Great video. I cant tell you how many chop electrical jobs that have cost people entire machines due to failure. Then one wire grounds out and you have to tear an entire machine down to find it.
I recently put 50 feet of new wiring into a bmw touring motorcycle. lol
How would you wire a sound bar on a 2012 kawasaki brute force 750i?
Same way as the light bar i showed you in this video.
My battery won’t a hold charge, is that due to the same issue?
Do you have a video on how to change the rear main seal on a 2008 750
No I do not. Its pretty easy. Follow along with your service manual.
Not sure you got my last message. I have a chance to pickup a 2005 650 brute force. With 2,300 miles on it. The guy wants $2900. For it . Anything I should be aware of when checking it out?
Do a leak down test on it before purchase. Anything more than 12-15% pass on it unless you want to do a top end.
@@HammerHeadGarage thank you for the response. And awesome content.
Hello. My 750 brute Force has trouble priming and starting. It's a 2007. I took it to the dealer and they mentioned something about a priming box or something of that sort. I can spray starting fluid and it'll start right up. Any ideas on how I make and fix this at home? It has new spark plugs and has recently been serviced
Your fuel pump is bad. Or low fuel pressure due to a bad fpr or restricted screen in the fuel pump
I bought a 2008 brute force 650 I. It’s been beat ,,,gas spitting out the exhaust....I checked the carbs theg seem fine ,,,,I’m wondering if the last guy put the fuel “ pump “in backwards
The carbs are not fine. Did you check the main jets? I bet the previous owner drilled them out or they are much too large.
Could be a wiring issue or the belt switch inside the cover.
@@HammerHeadGarage I have looked at the wiring and can not see anything that jumps out as a problem. So maybe just a new switch? Thanks for responding by the way. I like watching your channel and learn a lot every time.
@@HammerHeadGarage Mr Hammerhead, I just bought a 2006 650 bruteforce 4x4i It has 950 miles. I have gone through and changed all oils and front pads, but the rear brakes , foot pedal and left side handbrake work terribly. Is there a youtube out there regarding this issue. I changed the rear oil already. From what I gather there are no pads to replace in the rear, some kind of wet system. Thanks for the help, I am sure we all appreciate your time and effort.
I have a Kvf650, 2002 that is in great shape, but lately the front wheels lock up like the brakes are on. The right front brake lever acts like it has pressure built up, as you can't even squeeze the brake lever. After the machine sits for a while, and has cooled off good it will once again roll fine. Do you have any insight for me?
You need a new brake master cylinder.
My 08 brute force v twin 650 is having electrical issues turn key and nothing sometimes turn key and digital display works and flickers ive check for loose and exposed wires my battery is good and it will run if I pull start it but the cooling fans won't operate and digital display flickers sometimes and other times won't come on at all and my fuses are good
Bad ground somewhere would be my guess .
Purchased a brute 650 2006 SRA. The rear drive shaft almost seems short and keeps sipping off the rear diff. An idea on what causes this?
Take it apart and clean it. Make sure the spring is there. Likely just not springing back.
You seem very knowledgeable on these, do you have any idea why my 05 750 might not be charging properly? Stator checks out perfectly, I’ve bought 4 different regulators and only 1 of em got me like 12.8 volts when idling with all the others it was lower but I just feel like they can’t all be bad, have fixed the buss connector also, my display stopped working and was hoping that was the issue but it was not
Did you load test the battery? That or you have a wiring issue. Ac voltage from stator, rectified to dc voltage to battery. Follow the path.
@@HammerHeadGarage according to the manual my ac voltage is perfect but not getting enough dc, unfortunately I do not know how to load test I’m pretty new to electrical, brand new battery also, and I am running absolutely nothing when I check the voltage and I have no aftermarket things added either
@@HammerHeadGarage I’ve had the worst luck with electrical I’m currently trying to figure out my 1985 atc 250sx also it’s getting a steady 40-45 ac volts to the ignition coil but almost nothing out even with a brand new coil and with old coil has me stumped lol
Hey thanks for the video. I have a 05 bruteforce 650 vtwin, I just did the carb rebuild kit. Gas leaks out of the carb overflow when I have the gas on and start it. Did I mess up the rebuild or could I be the fuel pump? I'm confused at this point, been spending alot of time messing with it
If gas is coming out the overflow you either have a stuck float, a too high float level or the wrong needle and seat.
Also I noticed when I turn key off it's not making the noise like my other one did like I think its the clutch adjustment thing?
The actuator on the belt cover has gone bad. They are almost $500 to replace.
I just bought an 05 Brute Force, mostly being used for snow plowing. I’m glad I found your channel. As it need a little work, here and there. I noticed the choke doesn’t seem to be working. Hard to start and no change running the motor, with it on or off.
Hard starting means its time for a valve adjustment. Take out the plugs and see if they are black? if so replace.
I have a 2011 brute force 750 I bought and recently coolant spit out at the coolant front elbow where it goes into the motor should I replace that elbow or is there just a o ring that blew out and that needs to be replaced? Would love to know your thoughts
Could just be the oring that goes on the engine side of that tube. Check that it is not coming from the waterpump weep hole and running down.
I have just bought 2014 bf750. It seem to have wiring issues. 2wd/4wd sometimes does not work and it happens when speedometer do not show any speed just 0. Eps and engine lights pops on and off. Where should I look first?
Make sure the batt is fully charged and putting out about 14vdc at idle.
@@HammerHeadGarage It shows about 14.5V at idle and when off it shows 12.71V. What next?
Found it, the ACC fuse had rusted contacts. Cleaning them resolved all issues.
I waa wondering if you work on the Kawasaki tyrex 750s? Very similar machines.
I've worked on them yes.
Just bought an 02 prairie 650 as a project, guy had it sitting a few yrs becuase it lost spark, is it common for cdi to go in these? Anything else I should look at to start? Thanks
CDI failures are not common. check all the wiring, fuses, coils etc. Get a good service manual and follow along.
Maybe a stupid question but I’m new to Kawasaki’s atvs. I’m gettin a good amount of oil on my stator is it supposed to be like that?
Yes, they are bathed in oil to keep them cool. Part of normal operation.
Is 2013 brute 650 got same problems
What makes a Brute Force 300 run good when it's cool once it gets to operating temperature loses power
In all fairness I'm a true rookie although I do all my own auto maintenance, I'm at whit's end with mine. It seems that the starter is locked up just click on the solenoid under the seat, and I have a new battery, starter, and solenoid. I inherited this from my father in law who wintered it in a shed in Michigan, i am finding signs it was in the water or at least wet mud. Where should I Start next or any tips?
Take the spark plugs out and check for liquid in the cylinders.
With the plugs out, see if it turns over now?
I just watched your video for 1st time. Great info. I am looking to buy a 2014 750 Brute Force. Yet having my doubts. WHY? Hey I've purchased a oil burning brute being a noob and now have to do the top end this winter if it lasts till then....any suggestions on a good rebuild kit...or maybe buy a rebuilt motor and use this one for parts....I'm bummed don't know what to do...I really like the brute force
No rebuilt motors available. Use all Kawasaki parts, they fit and work better.
Thanks for the feedback, subbed!
Can I bypass an iac on a 2010 injected?¿ Or a good place to buy the iac sensor and valve
No you can't bypass it. Either Kawi or check online.

Worse. Everything is pure garbage now.
How do i set my tps on a 08 brute force 750
Hey, do I just ground the chassis or the engine or it doesn’t matter how, I rebuilt my top end and now I’m plugging things up
you can ground both and it won't hurt anything.
Just found your channel. I actually live just outside of Bridgewater. I see your n the Halifax area. I just bought a 2008 brute force 750i and it works great other than it doesn't want to idle.
Go watch my brute force backfiring fix video. Prob a bad fuel pump, fpr or blocked fuel screen. Im in the valley area.
So even though it only dies at idle you think it could be pump or screen? I had a 2016 750 that I had to replace screen because it would bog at full throttle but it idled fine. Not questioning your expertise.
i have a question my 2005 Kawasaki brute force do not start only starts with a pull sart why wont start with the electric start h help me
Load test the battery and check the charging system voltage.
Hey have a 2008 brute force 750 n I'm getting fuel up to the injectors but want run I can pour fuel in the carburetors and it cranks up off that gas do you have a clue of what's going on here
Your injectors are plugged up. Unless you have a machine you need to take them somewhere to have them cleaned out.
Question I have a 08 650 it runs normal without the lights if I use the regular lights it drains the battery very fast the light bar by itself doesnt drain it as bad I unhooked the winch do you think it's the stator I cant find any answers online
Is it charging? should be 13.5-14.5 volts dc at idle. You might get the battery load tested first and check for shorts in you lighting wiring.
It is at idle then when I turn the headlights on it instantly starts draining and will drain until it kills the bike
Thank you
You're welcome.

My advice is to pay the extra for a factory Kawasaki oil filter.

I have an 08 750fi. I have replaced the fuel pump, i removed the screen in the pump housing, I have checked flow and pressure. The machine still hesitates, backfires and wont rev out properly. What should i check next?
Do a leak down test. Anything above 12% leakage is a problem.
I have a 2011 teryx 750 le I have fuel at the pump and to the injectors when I turn on key pump runs for about 3 seconds and the injectors have power to them for that time but when t try to start it injectors don't fire while turning over the motor the dash has a fi code any ideas?
The FI code means there is a problem somewhere in the fuel injection circuit. Get the codes read. Otherwise it could be over 40 things.
