Awesome that you guys made this video clip!!!
The cliff notes of the good stuff lol
I remember the hunt. The podcast etc. Im sitting at 524 with 19% FOC. This years I will be trying stingers last year I was running montecs. I can make shots further than I would take in a hunting situation so im pumped for next season
Mine are very close to what you’re saying. They’re 520 grains and 19%. I’m using the black hornet ser razors. I couldn’t be happier with their performance.
Great stuff guys!
I’m using micro diameter gold tip kinetics at 440 Gn. On my main setup. I’m getting right at 300fps with low profile x vanes and so far I love the setup.
I hunt whitetails currently at 547gr and 18plus% foc its like a hot knife through butter.
That’s a great balance I think
What spine?
@@zackdavis3986 Black Eagle Rampage 250s cut 28.75 ctc. 200 up front with point and insert. 3 aae hybrid hp vanes and easton x nocks
Good info
How fast are you shooting that 550 grain arrow?
The guy knows what hes talking about, everybody is focused on speed. Lol
Shot the deer in the knuckle? In the hip? There is no knuckle in the front shoulder
Lol…Right! Tune your bow…
I have 2 arrow setups
1 is 682 grains with 17% foc
2nd is 525 grains with 19.4% foc
Two sight tapes?
@@HUNTRPOD 2 different bows
The heavier arrow is on my prime Nexus 2 80lbs
And the 525 grain arrow is on my PSE bow madness 32
Have one more build I want to do using my old bow but I'll see what happens
I shoot a 450 grain arrow (TAW) at 60lbs and 30”draw with rage broad heads shooting about 290 fps. I have shot through deer and penetrated completely through a bull elk at 40 yards. To me it’s personal preference of the middle ground of speed and hard hitting cause 25ft lbs of energy from an arrow is the bare minimum to kill a deer what I am doing is pushing almost 84ft lbs of energy which by professionals hunter is good for just about everything and anything you plan on hunting from deer to dangerous game at ethical distances
It depends on where you hunt and the cover your hunting in.
Yes it definitely does!
I shoot for Magnus.
I shoot a 380 grain finished arrow at 60 pounds.
I've used Magnus Stinger, Buzzcut,Serrazors,Black Hornet.
I'm a field tester on Broadhead performance for WHITETAIL deer.
Troy said "that's what I'm planning for".
Well...I am planning for quick range estimates on moving targets that stop on a bleat and give me seconds to judge a distance for a clean kill.
I am avoiding the shoulder.
Last season I killed TWENTY Whitetails with my setup.
I'll take distance judging error compensating speed, COC, ACCURACY (practice), and shot placement.
Dr. Ashby used his arguments on heavy arrows to help win legalization of archery equipment in Africa. I don't hunt Africa. If I did, I'd use a heavier set-up.
I have taken several hogs, some big, with this setup but you just have to wait for the correct shot angle.
My "Plan B" is MAGNUS cut on contact heads and good blood trailing decisions AFTER the shot!
Excellent feedback! Love that you are avoiding the shoulder
@@HUNTRPOD except that up really close to the shoulder bones is where a majority of the major vascular tissues are. Therefore it's a more lethal area to target.
