Lilah being genuinely afraid of Angel's genuine threat is such a fantastic moment that not only works for the situation of the episode, but is interesting to the overall aspect of their good vs evil dynamic they have towards each other. They tolerate each other and almost seem to respect the fact they balance each other out because of the sides they play on (good and evil)... until Lilah takes it too far by hurting Cordelia and trying to get at Angel through her. Lilah acknowledges Angel has a breaking point where even with a soul he has a line she is not allowed to cross without him killing her. This episode is Lilah's only warning. And she realizes it. I love it.
If you rewatch the early seasons of Buffy, Cordy is actually constantly talking about how hot she finds Angel. But because she doesn't know he's a vampire yet, and she's still immature and stuck up, we don't take her interest seriously. But she's never not been interested in Angel.
Well the whole broken curse and losing his soul probably put a damper on those feelings. She’s not really ok with him getting too close to anyone. Physically, at least. I think he would have been considered off limits after that phase of their relationship.
I swear I had EXACTLY the same reaction to Skip as you when this episode first aired. I was immediately obsessed with him. I wanted him to leave his dimension and join Angel Investigations. They needed a regular 9-to-5 guy like him on the team (I swear while he and Angel were chatting I half-expected him to pull out a wallet and show Angel pictures of his wife and kids). When they fought it reminded me of the scene in "The Princess Bride" when Inigo Montoya has to duel the Man In Black ("You seem like a nice fellow. I hate to kill you." "You seem like a nice fellow. I hate to die.") I even started putting him into my fan-fics.
In fairness a pretty decent episode. In That Vision Thing we again these annoying peripheral characters from Wolfram & Heart trying to mess with Angel again, this time through Cordelia. Lots of foreshadowing here again, and a somewhat strange ending in that Wolfram & Hart do kind of get what the wanted but Angel still saves the day and Cordelia, great scene towards the end when Angel threatens Lilah. Darla's baby of course is still very much here.
A coin with a hole in it? Reminds me of what happened when the Canadian twonie first came out. The inside of a twonie consists of a different metal than the outside. It was feared for a while that the middle could be come detached, this a hole in the coin. I have yet to hear of that actually happening, and the coin has been in circulation for a long time.
